This location comes close to In N Out except the fries at In N Out are better. There's also a slight variation on the food at the Fife location. The burger here seems to be much better. The veggies are better and the burgers are tasty. Keep in mind I always order the double deluxe. Price is acceptable, too. The greatest thing here IMHO are the employees and the sundaes. I simply asked if the can douse caramel syrup, chocolate syrup and cold brew on my sundae. The employee did just that and I had the best dessert in town! It should be on the menu. Best burgers around. Fresh, grass fed beef. Excellent shakes and gut busting chili fries. We rarely get a hot dog but they are great too! I was scrolling through yelp and saw the stars so stopped to review. Their prices are a little high I guess, but you get what you pay for. If you want cheap fed cows and mystery meat the golden arches are down the street. If you want cooked to order, fresh toppings and fabulous patties with a yummy dressing look no further. Really, this is more of an old style burger joint. And really, their burgers ARE GOOD! Their hotdogs are fine, but nothing spectacular. Our first time going to Pick Quick. Definitely won't be our last. My wife and I both had double burgers hers regular mine deluxe. Best burger I've had in a long time so tasty! I would have have gave the place 5 stars. But the fries although tasty needed to be drained a little better as they were swimming in oil. 2 stars from me, 5 stars from my mom. I've been eating Pick-Quick since I was a kid (the past 20+ years, albeit mostly at the Fife location), but it's always by my mom's choosing. My rating is for everything I've eaten, every time. I really just do not like Pick-Quick and I don't understand why my mom does, but then again, it's evident a lot of other people do too. I would recommend Pick-Quick for outdoor, picnic style eating (at Fife mainly, but also Auburn), shakes, Green River soda, and atmosphere. It's a throwback, old-fashioned diner style place but the Auburn location also has drive-thru. Their shakes are pretty customizable with fresh banana option ($0.55 extra even though the Auburn menu doesn't say it), Almond Roca, Frango Mint, cold brew coffee, and other fancy flavors as well as the usual strawberry, chocolate, etc. Green River has always been my favorite flavor soda but unfortunately there's no diet option and I no longer drink sugar soda. Ok, now that that's out of the way - everything else. There is a manager response to someone else's review stating the fries shouldn't be soggy. I can't think of a time I've eaten here that my fries HAVEN'T been soggy, limp, over cooked. They also always look like they slice the outside of the potato and mainly use that because most the fries have skin. My mom loves them as-is, I don't know how anyone likes them. But whatever. Burgers are over-priced but it's because they use grass-fed beef. If they didn't, they'd never get away with charging what they do for the food they serve. It's $5.09 for a quarter pounder with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. The bun is grilled. I originally hated Pick-Quick because they used Miracle Whip for their mayo. I don't think they still do that, or maybe they only do in Fife, but I remember being a kid and hating the sweet flavor of Miracle Whip on their burger. Service is typically friendly, relatively quick but they do cook it fresh and I remember many a time being in Fife sitting at a picnic table waiting to be called on. Today was pretty quick but overall, don't compare it to McDonald's or Wendy's. I don't know if people are correct to compare it to In&Out as though they are *trying* to be In&Out. I think those people may just not realize that Pick-Quick has been around for decades and perhaps they just happen to be a similar business. Twenty years ago I don't know if anyone in Washington knew or cared about In&Out but Pick-Quick still existed (in Fife). Anyway, like I said, my mom has always loved it, I've always disliked it. When I worked in Tacoma I stopped at the Fife location many times for an afternoon snack. I thought that location's months of operation were quaint and somewhat frustrating. When the location opened in Auburn, I was excited. However, my excitement quickly faded as I decided to be vegetarian with no fast food. So, I was excited some colleagues decided to stop by this place for lunch one day so that I could experience the Pick-Quick four years after the last Pick-Quick burger I ate. I love the eco-friendly design and delivery of food, the burgers, atmosphere and service. The place is CLEAN! When I eat a cheap burger, I want it to be clean or else I can convince myself into food poisoning. People have commented on the size of burgers. For a dollar something, I am not expecting a behemoth of a deal. The burgers are fresh, cooked well and simple. For a burger, fries and drink I spent less than seven dollars. I really have no idea what people are referring to when they say that this place doesn't offer value. It's cleaner, cheaper and better than other burger place in Auburn. read more

We were heading for Willies hamburgers in Auburn when we spotted Pick-Quick and headed there. The name sounded familiar and so I asked and they happily informed me that they were the same as the place in Fife - Renee and I have loved for years - great shakes. We ordered and remembered why we loved the Fife location. Great hamburger and I love the Chile plus we can eat there all year. I am writing this review to counter some of the bad reviews of this place. I used to go to pick-quick in Fife and it was among my favorite burger joints. I am giving it five stars even though I would normally dish out a four star after eating here today, but I think I need to wipe out the review of at least one of the knuckleheads whom one stared this place. First off this is not Macdonalds or one of the other crap fast food places that most people in the area seem to prefer. I read complaints about waiting at the drive thru window for too long, I read one review from a self-proclaimed burger expert that this was the worst burger he ate in 35 years. Sorry but that palate must suck and I would ignore all reviews from someone like that. He probably thinks that an onion tastes like a tomato or couldn't tell the difference anyway. To the lady whinging about waiting too long at the drive through go to Macdonalds. Pick-Quick is cooking your burger fresh not letting it sit under hot lamps for god knows how long. Not to mention all the chemical additives. That said I had a deluxe double patty double cheese with bacon and an order of fries. The burger was excellent and reminded me of when I used to eat at the fife location. It was fresh and cooked just right. The lettuce, onion and tomato were all fresh. With regards to the fries let me just say this I live in walking distance to the Dicks drive in here in Wallingford. Don't even get me started on Dicks because I grew up eating there and love it to the day. The fries at Pick-quick were definitely hand cut and fresh. They were salted just right and had just enough grease. They beat Dicks on the fries and that is no easy compliment for me to give. So check this out! I'll be honest, I'd slip into a fat coma if I ate here too often, but for when I aim to misbehave, the Pick Quick is my local go to. The good: The burgers - I love these burgers. Burgers aren't fancy, but they're made to order. If you like In and Out, but can remain objective, you'll really like PQ. My recommendation, though, is unless you REALLY like raw onion, have them keep it on the side. Or even better, do yourself a favor and add the grilled onions. They're grilled slow and add that sweet awesomeness that makes a great burger even better. The fries - The fries are another star of the menu. They're cut fresh each day and fried twice. Don't expect a processed, stiff as a board Oreida fry. These are a completely different thing, and man, are they delicious. The shakes - And to complete the trifecta, the shakes and malts are excellent. My favorite is the coffee malt, extra malt, but I also like the fresh fruit shakes, too. The Bad: The hot dogs are okay, but overpriced. I'm willing to pay a few dollars more for a solid, delicious, made to order burger, but I can't see paying more than a couple bucks for a hot dog. I am also not a huge fan of their chili (chili cheese fries/chili dog). I've tried it twice, once on fries (and was so sad that I'd ruined a good order of fries) and the other time on a dog, and both times, it was a sloppy, overly salty mess. Variety - The menu is actually pretty limited. I view this as a kind of neutral thing. I'd rather go to a place that sells one awesome burger than 80 menu items that all suck. That said, I'd love to see them add a good onion ring to the menu. The Ugly: Cost - It's really not cheap. For a burger, fries and shake, you're looking at about $11 for lunch. If you're looking to spend a few dollars less, the truth is you'll get a solid burger across the street at Chicago Willy's. But you get what you pay for. The PQ burger is, in my opinion, just a better burger. read more

I give them credit for working towards serving clean food. They aren't fully there yet, specially compared to Dukes Chowder House in Kent. They have great quality meat. It's local, no growth hormones, and naturally raised. That's really hard to find at any type of restaurants these days. They also claim to get all their produce from local farmers, I would hope it's organic. That would earn them extra stars! Fries are good. You can tell they are freshly cut and cooked. I think they are 10 times better than any other traditional fast food fries. They have a lot of HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) in many of their products. This is very disappointing!!! For claiming "PICK-QUICK is committed to serving Honest-to-Goodness food" having HFCS in their food completely contradict there honest food statements. We have to order lettuce wraps instead of their buns because they have HFCS in them. Not to mention its in all their sodas. I wish they would provide drinks not sweetened with HFCS. I won't even try their shakes in fear of the HFCS. So disappointing! Definitely not quick. Make sure you have time to wait for your food. My family and I waited in the drive-thru for 20 minutes. A classic. It's been around since the late 40s. This is should be the next best thing to In-N-Out Burger in the entire state it has grass-fed local farm grown beef and has local Pacific Northwest ice cream it has all the things on paper including Recycling and conservation that should make this a wonderful place to eat at it just missed the mark on some of it the items. There are ice cream and shakes are wonderful and should definitely be a highlight their dipped cones I could eat everyday the flavor is delicious and you can tell that it's natural. It's surrounded by a thousand other fast food places to eat. And it should really be The Shining Star around them the service is okay the facilities are are well maintained the problem is that you can't put high grade beef in between two low-grade buns with low grade cheese and expect a burger to be as good as anything else. As such the burgers taste only so-so and the delicious ice cream is put into a cone that is also only so-so I didn't want so so it has the name and establishment since the late forties I was looking for something that would compare to In and Out and don't get me wrong, the fries are as good as in and out and their fry sauce is delicious and if there ice creams in a bowl I love it. I just need a little bit better quality and some of their accessories to make the true feature shine. read more

My husband loves these burgers. Always wants to go there. Also the one in Fife. 2 glaring problems They work very hard and are extremely successful in making the worst fries anywhere. Soggy, limp, greasy and terrible flavor. He doesn't ever order the fries. As they are the only gluten free item other than ice cream, I have tried them twice. Horrible!! I just sit and watch while he eats his burger. The other bad thing is that the cooks and servers think that wearing gloves is to protect their hands. I've driven by both Quick Pick locations many many times and I've always told myself that I needed to try it one day. That day was finally today and for the lines that I see outside at the Fife location, I was sorely disappointed. I could compare them to Dick's in Seattle like other reviewers have done but that's not fair to Dick's. I think they try to be like most of the other local small chains like Frisko Freeze or Time Out Burger, or Herfy's, or Frugals but they don't really stand out. They have a limited menu with your choice of a hamburger, cheeseburger or hot dog variation ranging from really plain to loaded. You can make your burger a double but 1/4 pound is all they go. The 1/8th pound patties are bland and tasteless but the deluxe burger comes with Quick Pick sauce. The menu reads that they sell french fry sauce for dipping but I'm pretty sure that the french fry sauce and the Quick Pick sauce are the same. The fries themselves are exactly like those you get at Dick's so if you like thin, hand cut fries with the skin still on the potato and fried without any prep until they are soggy, then you'll love them. I however do not like fries that way. They do offer extra toppings for your burgers and dogs at additional charges that I felt were too high. I paid $1.09 for 1 slice of skimpy bacon. I wasn't around in the 50's and 60's so I don't know if diners and malt shops charged for condiments or not but this place doesn't even have ketchup available. I'm sure I could have asked and would have probably gotten handed a few packets but I'd rather not. I'm very disappointed in this establishment. The building is cool, the atmosphere is fun and I had hoped that this would have been a place that I went and raved about to my family and friends. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a place I won't return to much less recommend to anyone. My first experience with Pick Quick was through their drive-thru. It took 10 miunutes to serve me and the 3 cars ahead. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because the restaurant was only 10 days old. I returned again today to eat inside. It took over 20 minutes for two burgers and a fry. Fortunately I love a good oversalted soggy fry, but the burgers were small, thin, and nothing special. It was not worth the 23 minute wait. ABSOLUTE WORST BURGERS IN 45 YEARS OF EATING BURGERS. Having been all over the west coast and the entire southern U.S. on the road on a motorcycle or in a car, I have tried just about every road side or local burger place that was along my way. Plus I have sought out the best burger joints in the South Puget Sound and Whatcom County, as well as Northern and Southern CA. This place is the worst I have eaten for fast food burgers. First, their hamburger patties are wafer thin. Never had any this thin. You order a "double deluxe", and you get something that does not even amount to a McDonald's Quarter Pounder (and in comparison the Quarter Pounder tastes like Daniel's Broiler). They charge extra for special sauce for the fries, but don't tell you, so if you are unfortunate enough to stop here and actually make the mistake of ordering food, do NOT say you want special sauce for the fries. Fries are limp and greasy. Shakes are not shakes. They are equivalent to a Wendy's "frosty". Soft serve ice cream in a cup. If you find this restaurant, take my advice and go next door to a place called Chicago Willy's. That place has real hand made hamburgers that are actually some of the best you will find anywhere. I hate to say it, but I'm a (borderline) convert to this place. I still think it's just a more expensive verson of Dick's with a slightly larger menu, but they have improved enough to get my business back. An original double cheese is now $3.39, but a double stack (same thing minus onions) from Wendy's is $2, so it's all relative I guess. They have really delicious ice cream which is FAR better than anywhere else-DQ is a joke in comparison. I think my original assessment is still accurate, but I've come to realize that we're living in an area that seems to force businesses to gouge people in order to survive-basically everyone rips everyone else off because of the high living costs in King County. read more
