There was a lot of fuss about this moving into the food court at the mall, so my husband and I stopped by pretty soon after; we were underwhelmed by the burgers although I thought the shake I had was extraordinary. I always believe in second chances, so today I stopped by again. Again, they were one of the most crowded spots in the food court and service was a bit slow - yet picked up when the lunch hour hit. I was happy with the cheeseburger, which was tasty even without any condiments (I just added lettuce and tomato). I also tried the tiramisu shake. Thoughts on that: 1) I've never felt that shakes that include coffee really do anything coffee normally does and this was no exception (to be fair, tiramisu doesn't give you a buzz, either); 2) don't forget to chip away at the cookies inside the shake because getting those cookie bits into the mix really ups the taste. If you are vegetarian, they have some options. They will also do lettuce wraps instead of bun or gluten free buns. Pretty great. Hard to rate ambience - it's a food court. But there was plenty of empty seating nearby, even during lunch; many people come for takeout orders or are dashers. The location at downtown is just inconvenient to get to (since parking is too tight there) so I was really happy when another location opened at Southcenter Mall, which is a lot easier to get to! It's located in the food court (which has tons of seating but is frustratingly full on weekends), and you order through several small kiosk systems that oversee the kitchen. Everything's prepared very quickly, and the servers do ask you if you want any ketchup or other stuff. They serve mostly burgers with tons of modifications you can make, along with a decent selection of milkshakes. My friend and I each got a double Shackburger with BBQ fries and rootbeer on the side. I was not disappointed with the quality of the burger! The meat was very juicy, and there was a perfect balance between sweet, salty and sour with everything combined. The burger did not come apart too easily even with all the sauce, and the BBQ fries added such a nice salty touch to the meal! Probably rootbeer wasn't the way to go since it just added more saltiness... Ok, so a lot of my friends love this place so I finally decided to try it. First of all, I was visiting from Hawaii and we were killing time before our flight back home. There's so much hype around shake shack. I was so excited to see that it was open today so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the shake burger, cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. Paid about $28. They're serving size is super tiny. I was expecting something bigger. The quality was ok but I definitely was expecting it to knock my socks off and frankly, it was just basic. The staffs are very unhelpful and unfriendly. The kiosk charges for a bag even if you eat in. They couldn't figure out how to remove it. So forget it I donated 8 cents. The food took so long to come out. When it did it wasn't hot and the burger was a mess. The fries were cold and tiny. Totally unacceptable and unhappy. Will not go again and will not recommend. We finally got to check out Shake Shack and see what all the hype is about! My husband and I both got the Shack burgers which has cheese, tomato, lettuce, and special sauce on it. You can tell the burger patty is of good quality. The burger was delicious, I just wish I would have gotten onions and/or pickles on it to add some zest to it. We also decided to try the Korean BBQ fries which were interesting... the seasoning tasted like spicy ramen packet seasoning and the sauce that came with it was funky. I couldn't quite figure out the taste of the sauce- it reminded me of the salad dressing you get on a side salad at a teriyaki place. I wish they would have served the fries with a type of bulgogi sauce, but the fries themself were tasty and well cooked. We will be back! read more

Stopped here mid afternoon on a Sunday. Large crowd milling in front of the counter, all waiting for orders is very confusing. It took me a few minutes to figure out they were not waiting to order. I had to squeeze past everyone to get to an ordering kiosk. However, self ordering process is very easy to use. Text notification when your order is ready. I got the shroom burger and was a bit disappointed. Mushrooms take on a leathery texture when they have been frozen and this shroom was similar to biting into a wallet. Fries were good. Cherry blossom shake sounds better than it tastes. It had a very artificial flavor. Tables around the food court were all very dirty but I think that is more the malls responsibility.
