I hate to do this and had no plans to post this review but the experience was so appalling that I had to review. We came here for the first time for dinner. It was such a weird experience, when we walked in, we got greeted and that was it. So we started looking through the kiosk, and tried to place our order. Beware of the "combo", the price listed is for only the chicken plate, then you add in your drink order. I don't believe there's any discount if you order separately or as a combo. We were trying to pay and got "timed out". There was another party that walked in, and immediately got help at the cashier. At that point, why did we get sent to the kiosk instead of helped by the cashier to ring up our order. Luckily, they took our order then had us pay. Overall, food was not bad, but not the best. We ordered the two chicken plate - one with fried and original and the other fried and lemongrass with sugarcane juice. Like another helper said, the sugarcane juice was a little brown versus the green I'm used to, but it was tasty, The fried chicken was dry. Like over fried dry crispy, not in the good way. The lemongrass and original was a similar taste, once you dip in their sauces it tasted the same. The chicken skin was good, nice and crispy. Overall, this would have been a 3* but a few days later we found out that we were charged twice. We called immediately and was given the run around and they didn't believe us. We have been trying to work with you. It's not fraud. Of course we weren't given a receipt, one for the "time out" and the other at the counter. I'm not sure what kind of business you're trying to run, but this has been the worst experience ever. We called today trying to reach them, and had the rudest server answer. Me and my husband ate here this week. We split the Classic Burrito. It had yellow rice, chicken, cabbage, cilantro cucumber and green onions. Chili ginger sauce came in a little ramekin on the side. The burrito was great! The sauce really made it. *yummy* I really liked the type of rice in it; I believe it's cooked in chicken broth. They do charge a 4% fee for using credit. They report that the rest of the menu might be available next week. Love to have an option for hainan chicken, but they really offer chicken done well in all textures. If you like Hainan chicken, order the classic as it's delicious with their rice cooked in chicken broth and their garlicky and gingery sauces. Order their lemongrass chicken if you want a flavorful grilled chicken. If you want both, order the mix plate. The plate comes with chicken broth. If you don't want broth, get a bowl. I highly recommend their cracking skins as you get that desirable taste of fried chicken skins to pair with the other chicken and rice combos. I also like that they also sell congee and chicken soup. As much as I miss and loved Yang Chow (RIP slippery tofu), I do like a Hainan Chicken and am happy that this place got replaced with another different but equally satisfying rice bowl joint. I got a mixed bowl for lunch just to try two of their offerings and I have to say I liked the classic poached chicken over the crispy. The rice was also very good, and the minced ginger sauce ties it all together. You earned a weekly regular and can't wait to try your other sides. 5/5 stars read more

Picked up dinner toning to try. I got the original plate and a combo plate with 1/2 original and 1/2 lemon grass. The plate came with a bed of cabbage but with no salad dressing . Maybe it was meant to eat it just like that? The chicken meat was soft and tender. The green onion sauce was good but the green onion was too chunky. This review is only for flavor and portion size since I ordered through DoorDash. I had high expectations because of the rating, but my experience didn't match all the great reviews. I ordered the Mixed Burd Combo with the 50/50. As soon as I opened the container, a strong raw chicken smell hit me. I checked all the chicken to make sure nothing was undercooked and it looked cooked, but the smell was hard to ignore. I threw it on a pan for a bit just to be safe. When I tasted it, the raw chicken smell still seemed to be there. I tried covering it up with the sauces, but I just couldn't get past it and ended up throwing it away. For the price, the portion size was pretty small and the flavor was just okay. Between the cost, limited amount of food, and the strong raw chicken smell, I was pretty disappointed. I got the mixed chicken plate so it came with yellow rice, a bed or shredded cabbage and 2 slices of cucumber with the original chicken and the lemongrass chicken. It came with a side of broth and 2 sauces a garlic chili sauce and a green onion garlic ginger oil sauce. The sauce itself was delicious especially the garlic chili sauce very Cambodian. The green onion one is also good very Hainan chickeny. The broth and rice were light but flavorful. I didnt care for the shredded cabbage tbh. It reminds me of L&L bbq which I dont care for the cabbage either at least it is used to absorb the grease/flavor of the meat but Burds original and lemongrass chicken has no grease. The flavor of the original is very plain what I expected it. And the lemongrass is somehow...lacking umph in flavor. Maybe I was expecting more of the lemongrass to pop or maybe they toned down the flavor because of the location...idk. anywho I also got the coco cane kumquat drink. We came during the soft opening of this new restaurant and we're so happy to finally have a spot locally that serves it! The chicken was moist, tender, and cooked perfectly. The sauces were just right and really complemented the chicken well, adding great flavor without overpowering it. It definitely satisfied our craving for good chicken and rice. We tried their classic, krispy, and lemongrass (going forward I think we'll only pick the classic and krispy since the lemongrass isn't as lemongrassy as how I wanted it for a "lemongrass chicken"). The ordering process was really convenient with the easy touch-screen self-ordering system, and the food came out quickly, which made the experience even better. They also had ordering at the counter available, but I preferred the touch-screen. The only downside is that I wish there was a bit more seating inside. Most of my family decided to choose her recommendation and we picked the Mix Burd Chicken Rice Plate. We got the Classic and Lemongrass mix along with a different order of Lemongrass and Fried mix. It came with two delicious sauces and a hot soup. We got a side of cracking skin and that was perfectly crispy and tasty. The place had a little bit of indoor seating but more outdoor seating. They were kind to let us move the outdoor tables together temporarily so we can eat together. This place is sooo good. The rice and congee are so flavorful, and the chicken is very juicy. I always get extra chicken for more protein. I like that they have this option. My only complaint is their inconsistency. The first time, the congee was really thick, and not a lot of liquid. It was different than the Chinese and Vietnamese congee that I'm used to. It was definitely good and I actually liked it like that. So the second time I got it, it was not as thick and had more liquid, which was disappointing. I like that they offer a mixed plate if you want a different type of chicken such as the fried chicken or the lemongrass marinated chicken. I prefer the classic chicken, but I haven't tried the fried one yet. Their fish sauce is also really good and balanced. I was really excited to try Burd Chicken Rice because I love Hainanese chicken, and even though they lean into Cambodian flavors, it is honestly pretty similar at its core. I wanted to like this spot more than Taishi Hainan Chicken, especially since Burd is much closer and more convenient for me. But I have to give the edge to Taishi mainly because of the portion size. For about the same price, you get significantly more chicken, which makes a big difference. That said, I do think Burd's sauces are actually better. They taste more traditional and have a deeper, more authentic flavor that really complements the dish well. Overall, it is a bit of a trade off. Burd wins on sauce and proximity, but Taishi still takes the win for overall for me. read more

I was there today for lunch with a friend. Arrived around 11:45, parking is almost full, small parking with so many food establishments, kind of mind bordering. The reason for us here is to try their so call Hainanese chicken rice which originally from the country I came from Singapore, so far there's only a few that can say "compatible". 1) The rice is too yellow with some sort of coloring, chicken looks dry and some are cold. It say no frozen but did not say it's refrigerated over nite. Underneath the chicken is pack with raw cabbage (filler) cucumber is cut too tick, sauces is sweet. 2) We choose to dine in, food comes out for to go, pack in thick paper plate with lid, sauces in separate paper bags with a plastic spoon fork kind of utensils all in a plastic bags . We also order sugar cane drinks which taste very sweet a bit sour, brown color no green. Inside there's only a table for two n a two seater high chair table, outside a few tables with umbrellas.
