Facebook post stated that they have a buffet "happy hour" from 2-5 Monday-Friday for their buffet for $10.99. We got there at 2:15. The decor is very western sizzlin, but very clean. The buffet was large with many options. Some of our favorites was the fried catfish, hush puppies, enchiladas, taco meat, okra and the salad bar. The ranch is delicious and homemade. The cook was always bring fresh stuff from the kitchen to restock. While we were there they got pretty busy with people coming and going. Our waitress was amazing and was always cleaning. They have cobbler and ice cream for dessert but the cobbler was not refilled the whole time we were there and what they had out was dried up and looked old. I'm sure the fresh would be delicious. First, it was easy to find and parking was decent. They have their own lot. It is not a parking gargae or on the street. There is a curbside pick-up area for to-go/pick-up orders, plenty of handicapped parking, and it is mobility accessible fofr entering and for using the restrooms, and the layout is wide enough to allow for mobility devices. The buffet area is low enough for wheelchairs. Ordering is a bit different - you can order a steak (they have a large list of steaks from which to choose) and a side, and that steak comes with the buffet. Or you can order just the buffet and the only meat you get is a few choices on the buffet - hot wings grilled chicken, BBQ sausage, meatloaf. On the buffet is a a choice of a soup or chili (today's was chicken noodle). There's a baked potato bar - you have to ask for the potato. The hot bar has pinto beans, green beans, mashed potatoes (not instant), 2 kinds of gravy, cabbage, BBQ sausage, black eyed peas, mac and cheese, meatloaf, spinach, mustard greens, the cylindric hush puppies that I love sooooo much, a few other things I don't remember, and an amazing dish of thinly sliced potatoes, tomatoes, squash, and chunked carrots in a delicious broth. I mean a really delicious broth. The cold bar had mixed salad greens, tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, boiled eggs, olives, pickles, shredded carrots, radishes, croutons, shredded cheese, cubed cheese, saltines, a pea salad, a black-eyed pea salad, ambrosia salad, frog eye salad, 2 kinds of potato salad, and a variety of salad dressings, nuts, seeds, and a seasoning sprinkle. The dessert bar had a cherry cobbler made with both tart and sweet cherries and an apple cobbler made with Fuji apples, banana pudding, cherry jello, oange jello, vanilla wafers, soft serve ice cream and toppings, and a chocolate cake/brownie. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were prompt to remove used plates and bring fresh plates and refill beverages. One gentleman wearing a T-shirt that said "Born to read, forced to work" on it and was apparently a regular and undergoing chemo. The waitress checked on him frequently, and refilled his plate for him when he needed more food. There was another guest with a walker and they provided a person to carry their tray and assist with selections. I like the level of care they provided their regulars, and they didn't neglect those who were new there. My daughter mentioned this was a place designed mostly for elderly people - the food was well cooked, but also cooked to a bit extra softness. It was well-seasoned, but not boldly so. And the food offered was food seniors were likely to choose and enjoy. The price was very reasonable - $14 for just the buffet. The steak prices went from $12 to $30 depending on the type and size of the steak. But honestly, the chopped steak, meatloaf, or chicken on the buffet is a good choice unless you just have to have steak. There are a lot of low carb choices, a lot of vegetarian/vegan choices, and steak. Overall, it's a lovely little buffet, a place designed to make you feel comfortable and to become a regular customer. It is not trendy. I personally do not drink alcoholic beverages, so I didn't notice if they served any, but I can say it's not a cocktail place. It's not a dive, but it is old - the decor has been through several ownership changes from being a Western Sizzlin to a Mackey's to Pickles. There are signs up from the previous businesses. I think that adds to the charm. It is clean despite being so very old in decor. The restrooms showed their age, but were spotless and well-scrubbed abd functional. read more

We had the southern buffet. The food wasn't that good and the service was sub par but left a tip anyway. It was relatively quiet. The stuffing was watery enough to be called soup. The deboned turkey had a LOT of bones in it. The waitress said the cook is doing all he can do . They also serve coffee, but ran out of clean coffee cups, so they served coffee in take out cups. I usually get ribeyes here. a couple of weeks ago I got one that was the best I've had. tender. medium. perfect. worth $25. We loved Western Sizzin but had never been to Pickles once they bought the building. Trust me, we won't be back. We should have walked out at 530 pm when there was only 1 customer. Service is great. They offer a similar menu as Western Sizzlin but it's just not grilled as well and doesn't have the savory flavor. It's more like cafeteria bland. read more

I found this place to have friendly service and great tasting food. People always review buffets harshly maybe because they don't understand how difficult it is to manage that quantity of food. This place is worth the money. I put together some great plates there! $14.99 is a Great deal. read more

We went there for dinner Sunday evening, Food looked like it had been sitting out all day, very little to choose from no names on what the dishes were, looked dirty, husband ate a couple of bites of meat he got sick with in a few minutes from eating it. This is now called Pickles Steakhouse. It's the same building as Western Sizzling was on s Meridian. Disappointed. They did cook my steak to my specifications but it had no flavor! I like cheap, good buffets. This dump is neither. If I could give negative stars I would. The food on the buffet was absolutely disgusting. Looked and tasted as if it had been sitting on the line for several days. The canned peaches AND canned pears on the line were apparently so old that they had fermented. Not even a word of apology from the manager. If you want to pay $18 for a buffet that could very well give you botulism, by all means, stop here. Otherwise avoid this nasty garbage dump at all costs. Great Buffet! Being gluten free is not easy but this buffet had plenty of stuff I could eat. Good Salad bar and entrees like baked chicken with mashed potatoes, green beans. This is primarily a buffet place. The buffet has something for everyone in your party if you are not looking for vegan or low fat or keto or the like. You don't go here for diet food. On the other hand, if you have a bunch of hungry kids or you are starved for "home style cooking" the chances are good you will leave satisfied and it won't cost you an outrageous price. An off-brand version of Golden Corral. Most of the food tasted decent, but the whole place needs a major renovation. Very outdated. The servers have little class and were making snide comments to each other about how the other wasn't working hard enough, clearly in earshot of the customers. Absolutely awful. I came in town for the weekend and figured I would want to try this so called "steak house". To my surprise the steakhouse was more of a buffet with a pointless maze entrance, fast food style ordering , and incompetent staff. Not only was the look of the restaurant awful, the food was even worse than the look. The "world's best" cheeseburger was over cooked and bland and the chicken tenders was a disgrace. Me and my great grandmother go here almost 4-5 times a month and go to the Buffett. The staff is amazing and the food is great we always eat until we are stuffed. Then we pay and then we drive home in agony after we have stuffed our faces with one the the best buffets food in Oklahoma. read more

My hubby and I dined here last night and it was mediocre at best. We both got the 8 oz sirloin with the dinner buffet. I also got mushrooms. The prices here are very expensive for the quality of food that they serve. Our steaks were ordered medium rare, which mine was half medium rare and the other half was well done. The seasoning wasn't even there at all on my steak. I got french fries with my steal and they were not cooked all the way. The buffet had a lot of different items to choose from but everything that I picked up was hard. I got the fried shrimp and they were all hard and a bit on the cold side. My Texas Toast was hard as a rock and cold. Nothing else looked very appetizing to me at least. For dessert, I ended up with just a bowl of vanilla ice cream because when I went to put hot fudge on it, it was a giant glob of goo. We paid nearly $40 for everything.
