I'd go with zero stars for this "business", if i could. I rarely leave reviews, but my recent experience with Pickups Plus was so bad, I have to... I knew which Leer camper top model I wanted, so I ordered it with Nico. easy enough. when it arrived for installation, Nico refused to wash or rinse the top (covered in pollen and dirt) to allow for a reasonable inspection. i cleaned it myself, revealing scratches and small gouges. A follow-up with Harold was met with a defensive demeanor and excuse-making for not cleaning the camper top before delivery, and certainly not with customer satisfaction in mind. in the end, what should have been a cut-and-dried warranty resolution (re-paint by Leer) has been anything but. Harold and Nico represent the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Leer itself has been equally poor in helping to resolve this matter. i would strenuously urge prospective camper top buyers to consider a different distributor. read more

THE WORST PARTS STORE IN THE HOUSTON AREA!!! Pick ups plus on North Fry has been an absolute nightmare of a place to deal with. The owner used to be a family friend so I gave him more chances than he deserved. Not only did I find out that he put a $250 mark up on the $750 parts but he ordered the wrong parts! After having to go to the other side of Houston to get them because of a shipping issue, I determined that the parts were wrong. I called and told them I needed the other parts over nighted and a discount due to the troubles. I was met with a big headed glorified secretary asking me who the fuck I thought I was talking to! The last encounter I had, they ruined the bed on my 2019 ram 2500 by over cutting and cutting in the wrong area for the gooseneck, they refused to make it right. They have repeatedly fucked up bed liner on our personal and company trucks and never properly fixed it!!!! BEWARE OF PICK UPS PLUS!!!! read more

Good place to deal with. I needed the 3rd light to be activated on a used LEER camper shell I purchased. I phoned them and Nicco knew exactly what l needed. Went there to purchase the harness but since the labor quote to install was reasonable, l decided to let them install it. Took about 60 minutes. In the meantime, spoke with Harold about prices for halogen light modifications. All in all, it was a good visit. 'Duped by dealer and fell for it' Right. Let's review with a little more info on Pickups Plus and their quality electrical work. Ford F-150 Raptors have a power distribution box under the hood. It contains necessary wiring connections to the auxiliary toggle switch box that sits in front of the gear shift on the center console in the truck cab. The power distribution box is specifically for wiring such items as auxiliary off road lights. Instead of connecting the lights to the power distribution box, Pickups Plus drilled a hole through the engine wall into the cab and wired the lights to one of the toggle switches. Customer service is not what it ought to be. Spent nearly $1000 on a bed cover; as I was leaving I noticed that the button for the light wasn't working. They said to give it some time; maybe it's wet (cover was stored outdoors) and if it still doesn't work then call back and they'll mail a new one. Well it never worked so I called and they took my address and said they'd mail it. Nothing after two weeks so I called again and owner said he never got to it because he was too busy with the customers coming in the door. With what sounded like a disgusted tone (I could be wrong) he handed the phone to someone else who told me the covers were sold "as is". That was never told to me before so I dunno where he got that info. Anyway he said he'd take care of it. I finally got it in the mail... and light bulb is burned out. SMH. Anyway, product overall is very good but I definitely did not feel like a valued customer. Not going back there again. Everyone there is nice and "real" but in business you aren't supposed to be "real", you need to sometimes fake courtesy (even when you don't feel like it) for the sake of good treatment of customers. Awful customer service multiple times from multiple employees, including the owner Harold. I bought a LEER camper from Pickups Plus. Keith put together the order and everything seemed fine. When I picked up the camper, it was totally filthy inside and out from lying uncovered outside on the dirty lot. No effort was made to clean it. Whatever. I can live with that. What I can't live with is that the wiring was half-assed (cheap wire taps) and not compatible with my vehicle (Ford Ranger). Pickups Plus did not point this out, I had to discover this on my own and run my own wiring. (FYI, the third brake light did not work correctly due to how the Ranger taillights are wired. A shop that specializes in trucks should know better.) The camper needed warranty work twice. I requested a refund instead because of design problems with the product itself. The LEER 100XR's flawed design and poor fit-and-finish are inexcusable for an $1800 product. The glass doesn't hang correctly. The topper leaks. One window shock broke off after two days. The locking latch is absolutely useless because it is easily overridden and does not secure anything. I called the shop owner Harold and was very rudely cut off in the middle of explaining my issues with the camper. I was also told there was nothing that could be done about it - no refund or exchange possible. Harold's LEER representative later told me over the phone that Harold was not forthright with me. I was lied to in an attempt to make my complaints go away. Harold had his commission and wanted my hands off of it, no matter how unsatisfied I was with the product and his "service". LEER may, at its discretion, choose to refund a product. Harold had never called or asked about a refund. Harold is supposed to be representing my interests, not LEER's. You should stay away from this shop for this reason alone. The entire operation is extremely unorganized. The place is filthy, and not just the shop. The storefront has broken door frames that are held together by duct tape. They had a "sale" on Dallas Cowboys trailer hitch covers that were $70. You can find those on Amazon for $25. When walking through the shop you can see that nobody takes safety seriously, with people working underneath trucks held up only by forklifts or jacks with no jack stands in place. Keith and Harold take minimal time to understand the issues their customers are having. Keith and Carlos were always distracted by other customers, trying to do too many things at once, not paying full attention to anyone. That's just no way to run a shop. They try hard, and I like them, but they need some help, or a system in place so they don't feel too overwhelmed by customers to help anyone. If you want attention to detail, if you want people who know what they are doing, if you want technicians and employees that exude and inspire confidence in their work, if you want a shop owner that won't try to screw you over or show blatant disdain for your existence as a customer, TAKE YOU BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE. They have been nothing but a pain and I cannot wait to get my camper back and hopefully never deal with Pickups Plus ever again. read more

STAY AWAY. THE OWNER, HAROLD IS A CROOK! I bought my first truck a little over a year ago when I first went into Pickups Plus. I found them online. They were local and I figured why not, let's go get some work done to my new truck! WORST MISTAKE EVER! I went in and bought a Roll N Lock bed cover, a roll n lock organizer, had my truck leveled and a spray in bed liner done. It was kind of a nightmare from the get go. The spray in bed liner and leveling went off without a hitch! However, the roll n lock and the organizer did not. I must have gone up there 4 or 5 different times trying to get my cover to stay in the tracks properly. It never really did. The organizer was never really installed properly, they were supposed to be ordering new parts but i never received a call back from them. I paid my $2700 up front so I guess they were done with me. Yesterday, I a little of a year later, I went up to the store during my lunch break to ask them about my roll n lock(it stopped working over the weekend) Steve was great, he came out, told me what was going on with the truck, said he would have to do labor on it. At that point Harold, the owner walks out. I ask him if there is a warranty? He immediately goes sideways on me without any conversation other than "I told you about these roll n locks when you bought it" not really sure what that means but I didn't feel like i should be paying to fix something when it wasn't installed properly to begin with. Harold looked at me dead in the eyes and told me to leave. He told Steve, his employee to stop arguing with me, when Steve and I were not arguing. Steve looked perplexed and embarrassed to be in the situation. SORRY THAT YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR HIM STEVE! Harold drove off and smiled at me like the POS crook that he is. i have done business with pickups plus in the past, always had a good experiance with them . about 9 months ago i had aHID xenon light kit in stalled . with a1yr. warranty on parts and labor .recently one side quite working so i took it in to get it fixed under warranty .they looked at it and said it was a bad bulb they said it would cost me $25.00 for bulb and$25 for labor and that they would not honor the warranty because they are different owners when i first got it installed. thought it was tacky that they would not honor it ,but what ever ijust wanted fixed so i paid the 50 dollars and went on my way. the next day when i got in to drive the headlight flickered and went out . so i took it back and they looked at it again and said the bulb burned out again. they said they replaced it and was working fine .the next day it quit working again ,took it back ,they looked at it and then told me it was my trucks lighting harness that was bad, now ,dont you think they would of tested the continuity in wires first before allof this running around.? so i took a look under the hood and did some test onthe wire harness of their hid kit it was faulty . all they did each time was wiggle the harness to make it work ,in fact they never relplaced a single bulb .there was dust still on the cover where you remove the bulb!! totally lied to me the whole time and charged me 50 dollars to boot!! harold is a complete a##h### i will never go to pick ups plus again they are complete jerks .i would not recommennd them to my worst enemy!, read more
