Such a great find! I'd heard rumors from friends that there was this great local pie place. I decided to try them out one winter night when I didn't want to make dinner. My family and I picked up a take and bake Savory Rosemary Chicken Pot Pie and 2 slices of pie: coconut cream and brown sugar chess. I have never tasted such a yummy pie crust in my life! (Sorry mom) All of the pies were delicious. Even the dogs wanted some. Lol Thanks for helping me out with dinner and thanks for such friendly staff. I am writing this review by proxy since it was my husband who went to buy a pie and he begged me to give them a great review. I can only speak for the blueberry pie he got me for Mother's Day which was AMAZING, especially the crust!!! I could eat the crust by itself! So, anyway, my husband told me that the owner had gone out of her way to make sure that he was able to reserve the ONE blueberry pie left over the phone, pay for it and make it easy for him to get. He was really impressed by the effort and time they took to help him out. I've also had the chocolate pie from them before and all I could say is that I was glad it was at a party and I had to share with everybody because I think I could've finished off by myself! This place has fantasmic pies! I've tasted a few different pies and have not been disappointed. They are always patient and friendly. I just wanted to also say that you dont just have to get a whole pie, mini pie or a slice. You can get pie on a stick! Really! Also, I personally bought their Itty Bitty's for bite size (more like 2 bites) pies. I purchased them for my wedding reception. It was a rustic theme and it was fun to find cool displays for them. I want to like this place but it is a chain and we have dine at their other "team" restaurants Pie Bar and they do differ. Yes, my boyfriend and I have tried this one many times but!!! Front desk and check out is good with southern smile. No complaints there. The crust on the pie is rock hard but they have gotten a bit thinner. Key lime pie is bitter for my taste But for others it is good. The pies we like is no longer there. I am sure there are many reasons. Fruit pies are too chewy for me..I do not want to break a tooth. Mostly, the pie slice size for the price...ouch. Custard pie is way to sweet. Please break away from the mold and do a better crust...keep practicing your craft and bake from your heart with passion not just the bottom line. We understand that the " team or franchise has guidelines" but at least put heart into the pie not just over sweet and tough chewy pies. We stumbled upon this place by strolling through Woodstock one afternoon. I tasted the samples, met the kind young people running this establishment and was immediately hooked. I returned the next day for some coconut cream pie (the best I've ever eaten) for me and a chocolate peanut butter pie for my mother. She loved the pie, too. After eating the pie I decided to take a frozen chicken pot pie home with me to eat a few days later. I followed the directions they gave, including the egg wash for the crust. It was the BEST chicken pot pie I ever had!! I only spend a few months a year in Georgia, but I'm sure I'll be frequenting this lovely pie shop. I consider 5$ cheap for a piece of pie as I travel often and find woodstock very affordable in general. The chicken pot pie at 8$ was a bargain as it was my entire meal and I could not finish it. By far the best pies I've ever had. The crusts are magnificent. Flaky and light. And they don't get soggy on the bottom. The peanut butter (not the salted peanut butter cup) and chocolate chess are my favorites. But I've never had a bad flavor. BUT... the best are their savory pies (pot pie & quiche). This discerning eye believes there is something majestic about an establishment that concentrates and excels in one thing. The Pie Bar is exactly this. This small little gem on the outskirts of downtown Woodstock is a must for those who yearn for the simpler days where the world stops for just a few minutes while you enjoy a sweet or savory delicacy. Whole or by the slice, this place will put a smile on you. Seating is limited so don't expect yourself to park in there for several hours to nurse your office/homework for hours. This is not that type of place. This is a place to have a cup of coffee (Cool Beans of Marietta), juice, or tea with a wholesome slice of heaven by yourself or family and friends. Little details like the brass bell hanging on the door and the old fashioned coffee mugs create a homey feel. Having just stuffed myself with lunch, I got several slices (bourbon chocolate pecan, Hoosier sugar-cream, & salted caramel apple pie) to go. I was expecting the slices to lose their shape and be nothing more than a blob when I got home. This was not the case. Each slice held firm and got back to my house an hour later in perfect condition. The bourbon chocolates pecan isn't your run of the mill overly sweet, smothered corn syrup pecan pie. It was dense with crunchy pecans with a chocolate drizzle. The homemade crust was flaky and light. The filling was not liquidity, so even after a few bites, the slice held its shape. If you like pecan pie, look no further! The Hoosier Sugar-Cream is an eggless pie consisting of a dense vanilla custard with a pinch of nutmeg. This was by far the best custard pie I've had in years. Great to be paired with a cup of coffee or hot tea. This pie is only available on Sunday's, so do yourself a favor Should you find yourself in Woodstock on a Sunday, go grab a slice. Don't let the name fool you, this pie is not overly sweet which I surmise is made with brown sugar to give it that nice dense dark custard. It's a must! Lastly, the Salted Caramel Apple Pie is a work of art. I'm not a big fan of salt and sugar in a pie, but I understand and recognize the dichotomy of it all. The salt doesn't over power the pie nor does the sweetness/tartness of the filling. There was not much liquid in the slice which tells me they really packed it in with sliced apples. What is intriguing about this pie is the notion that all the apple slices were cut and spread out perfectly, allowing the filling to back properly and evenly. There were no chunks of apple but slices. Totally unexpected! Like the pecan pie, the slice of apple pie held it shape and form after each bite. Homemade crust was light and flaky. To say that I will be going back to this gem of an establishment is an understatement. I passed on the blueberry crumble and bacon/cheddar/onion quiche that day, but from what I experienced with my take away, these two pies, will be enjoyed by me on my next venture into Woodstock. read more

Being new to the Woodstock area, we discovered Pie Bar while looking for hole-in-the-wall places to sit and relax with some after dinner coffee and dessert. The customer service both times we went in was pretty friendly. Pies are hit-or-miss. We loved the tart cherry, but the blueberry was bland and obviously made with canned filling. The coffee was okay at best, and the store itself definitely is more designed for the carryout customer - very little seating and everything is served in plastic containers, even if you're wanting to eat there. Do you know how difficult it is to eat a thick-crusted pie out of a flimsy plastic 'clamshell' container - and with nothing more than a cheap plastic fork? read more
