I loved this place! Super casual and relaxing. We came on a Wednesday night for trivia and it was great. We were AWFUL at trivia (seriously awful) but the atmosphere was fun. The bar area is big and they have TV screens all over so you can play trivia with your tablemates. There are prizes between each round and then a grand prize at the end. Super fun. As for the food, it was good! The pizza is pretty typical pizza but the flavors were good. We had a small pizza and got it half and half with their Hawaiian style pizza and half their white pizza with sausage. Both were really good. The crust is tasty, a little on the chewy crust side of things so if you're looking for a thin crispy crust this is not the place for you. I'd absolutely come back again. Definitely on a Wednesday too because the trivia was a nice bonus. read more

I went to Stowe with my husband and father-in-law for a family wedding the weekend before last. Our first night in town, we decided to get a casual dinner at Piecasso Pizzeria. The place was already busy at 6:30 on a Thursday night. We put our name down and headed to the bar to wait for a table. The bar was vibrant, as was the rest of the restaurant. Fun and casual with plenty of character. We'd just gotten our drinks when we were invited to join a large table of fellow wedding guests. There were about twenty of them gathered, and I thought they might be in town for the same wedding when we walked in, but worried I was just making rude assumptions about a big group of white people (a gaggle? a posse?). Thankfully, one of them recognized us from the hotel and they somehow found room for us to sit with them. It turned out this was a cobbled together group of wedding guests, all corralled by the woman who invited us to join, like players in a game of sardines. I wish I could give this woman a Yelp review because she was amazing, not only coordinating an enormous group of people who didn't know each other, but also somehow sorting out the check so that everyone paid their share and walked away happy (it was a little over $20 a head, so even if some people overpaid, how mad could anyone be?). Piecasso's staff was great, too, though they had an understandably hard time keeping up with our monstrously sized party. I always had food and drink when I needed it, so everything was peachy. I drank a couple of beers with my dinner: the Cousins Brewery Giggles IPA on tap, and my first can of the iconic Alchemist Heady Topper. Both were great, but there's a reason a canned beer is one of the most mentioned terms on the Yelp page of Stowe's most reviewed restaurant (which is, to be clear, Piecasso). This wasn't my last Heady Topper of the trip. The food was solid. We got several large pizzas for the table, and I enjoyed every one I tried. It was just good, satisfying pizza, the crust nice and chewy, the toppings fun and tasty. My favorite was The Leonardo, which, coincidentally, was the only one I had with meat on it. It was fantastic, a white pie with mozzarella, spicy Italian sausage, spinach, garlic, and basil. Of the vegetarian pizzas, my favorite was The Positive Pie, another white pie, this one with spinach, a little mozzarella, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, and creamy goat cheese. The Tree Hugger was also nice, with mozzarella, spinach, basil, tomatoes, garlic, and red onions. I liked The Vienna too, a pesto based pie with mozzarella, spinach, Kalamata olives, sun-dired tomatoes, and a drizzle of balsamic. Not a pizza I'd ever had before, but I enjoyed it. The only red sauce pizza we got was the Margherita, and this was good and comforting, topped with mozzarella, plum tomatoes, basil, and extra virgin olive oil. We ordered some non-pizza stuff as well, though I skipped on the salads, since I just didn't feel like eating a twentieth of a salad. Everything else was a variation on dough with cheese and red sauce. The fried four cheese ravioli was the daintiest of these, kind of like fancy mozzarella sticks, fried and served with marinara. The garlic knots were excellent, fresh baked and loaded with garlic, basil, and spices, with some mozzarella and parmesan to boot. They came with a side of red pizza sauce for dipping. Good stuff. Finally, my father-in-law got the stromboli, and it looked like one huge, disgusting mistake, though to be fair, I did not try it. It was exactly what was promised, an enormous roll of pizza dough filled with mozzarella and spices, with a side of red pizza sauce. Basically a football full of cheese. I feel like it should be a food challenge. My father-in-law ate about five bites before admitting defeat. This ended up being a fun, stress-free dinner with twenty strangers--an unlikely event made possible by a friendly atmosphere, one industrious table boss, and some quality beer and pizza. I see why people love Piecasso. If I were a Stowe regular, I'd probably eat here on every trip. read more

First of all, those of you complaining about the name- if you're going to get bent out of shape about it you're taking yourself waaaay to seriously. You need to lighten up and/or pull the barbed stick out of your ass. Anyway, my wife and I ducked in here for lunch yesterday. The sign was attention grabbing and a little fun. We had eaten at Pie In The Sky before and it was pretty good but we wanted to give the "new" place a shot. We went in and the hostess had her back to the door and was reading the menu while hunched over the front counter... We stood there for a few seconds until a waitress walked up and helped us. The aloof hostess realized there were customers waiting and got in gear. Our waiter was fine after that bit of silliness. We had an order of their steak fries and a medium cheese pizza. The fries were awesome- hot, fresh and crispy. The pizza was allright. The crust was good, crispy outside and a little chewy but the sauce and cheese lacked some flavor. All in all not a bad meal. We'd go back. Also, one thing of note is that the restroom was very clean. I don't know it was just because it was it was still early in the day but I was pretty surprised due to the "lounge" that the restroom was located in. read more

Solid pizza place in Stowe. We stopped here after a long first day of driving and had the garden pizza and chicken Marsala. The pizza was just perfect. They threw on some marinated shrimp at request. Their ambiance was casual - just as a pizza place should be - but also catered to people who want to sit down and have some warm food in peace. They serve grab and go slices in the front and the back portion is a sit down style restaurant. When we went in on a Wed night, they were hosting a game (trivia) night with little t shirt prizes. We take a yearly trip to stowe and consistently wind up at Piecasso at least one night of the trip. For some reason I'm always drunk by the time we arrive so my opinion may be skewed and perspective inaccurate but from what I remember they make a really good pizza here. The last time we ordered a pie with whole wheat crust and an assortment of toppings, the whole wheat crust is perfect here. It has that earthy healthy chewy almost grainy consistency that lets you know youre eating a whole wheat carb so its ok! The waitress we had was so level headed despite the crowd (it was a friday night and full of loud drunk peeps). We were seated and served in a timely fashion and just have always been treated well here. Now if I were to actually come here sober who knows what I'd think? read more

We popped in here spur of the moment after a long day of hiking and are glad we did. We wanted to get two pies to take home and decided to have a beverage while we waited. The bar tender was super friendly and we had our drinks in hand and pizza ordered in a matter of moments. As we had a bit of a wait we opted to share an order of garlic knots to tied us over. They came out in no time at all and were delicious! Often time I find garlic knots underwhelming and usually a bit over cooked but that not the case. These knots were soft and warm and seasoned perfectly. The pizza was also equally delicious having just the right amount of sauce, meats and not too think crust. If you're craving some pizza this is a great place to satisfy the craving! read more

I was not impressed with Picasso. We had heard good things about it from others who have stayed at Smugglers Notch. My family decided to call in and pick up our order. When we arrived home with our food, some of the orders were not made correctly. My large Greek salad with shrimp was $14 and extremely small. I asked for no olives or carrots, yet the salad I got had both. My mother had the eggplant parm sandwich, which consisted of mostly bread and had very little eggplant. We were told the daily soup that was supposed to be her side dish was tomato basil, but that's not what we received. My father got the pesto penne which he thought was very dry. He had added chicken to the dish for an additional $5 and received three small grilled strips. Not worth the money. The ONE good review I have was the BBQ Chicken Pizza. It was delicious with a perfect combination of BBQ sauce, onion, basil, and cheese. We will not be eating at this restaurant again, but if you do plan to go, I would stick with the pizza. read more

Spent a week in Stowe in August to cool off from the Virginia heat... Piecasso was tempting enough to get me to break my diet. Twice! The place is fantastic! I had pizza both times, but they have a large menu of salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta... Really, really, really like this place. Best pizza in Stowe, hands down. Place was wicked good. Imagine this- im sitting in a hot tub and I order 2 za. They deliver in 20. Delicious. Next day- running around town trying to get some food and of course every where is packed. The atmosphere and the layout of Piecasso was great. The arcade, bar, and dining were separated nicely throughout so it wasn't crowded. Our waitress had many tables & was busy, so we did not see much of her -- though the times we did she was incredibly kind. The kitchen staff (who we saw most of to help out our waitress) were funny and personable. Meal was brought out quickly, as were drinks (amazing local ciders). I ordered the basil pesto pasta, which was phenomenal. The fried chicken sandwich was flavorful & fried to the perfect crisp. Their pizza, however, was not what myself and the others I was with anticipated. We ordered the 'Tree Hugger' and a custom pizza. Tree Hugger: dough was soft and could barely hold the toppings/sauce. The pizza itself wasn't flavorful, the vegetables were soggy. We asked for extra garlic, but no garlic was on the pie itself. Custom: Ordered pepperoni and broccoli, however the broccoli wasn't cooked at all and the pepperoni looked like it was just added to the pie, as if they forgot to add it. We came here after looking around the stowe village area for some place to eat. We found that most places were closed since it was after 4 pm on a Sunday! Got a scoop of ice cream and headed back to the car to find a place to eat! This was the first real place other than a cafe with limited food offerings. Pretty cool place, hip and fairly interesting. I ordered a small pizza with ham and pineapple. The sprite I got had a slightly off taste but since I was extremely thirsty it was no biggie. Plus it was only 1.25 with free refills! Yeah, pretty good price, I was fairly shocked after checking the bill. The pizza was decent, not too bad. Thin crust, very light on the cheese and kinda heavy on the sauce, which also lacked flavor. My mom thought that the crust didn't taste good and left a bad taste in her mouth. The pizza was lacking and I left feeling mildly disappointed. The price for a small pizza for two topping was like 11.75 which I thought was a good deal, we had leftovers too! The service was good. She refilled my drink once and brought our pizza out as soon as it was done, pizza was delivered to the table nice and hot! Should be called Fiasco. Understand that places struggled to find staff during Covid and they remind you with signs at the door that things could be slow and please be understanding. How long places can play that card is another story.That our food took one hour on being seated wasn't the main issue. Quick list of issues - had to remind the waiter to bring crayons for our kids twice - handed my wife a can of beer without a glass - waiter came back after 45 min checking on us. Reminded him about the food. No offer to replenish drinks - 3 dishes eventually came out and we were informed "big"pasta dishes take longer. Whatever that means after 1 hour - someone who was not our waiter eventually came out with the pasta dish and sheepsihly placed it on our table without saying a word and scurried off - our actual waiter then arrived with a duplicate pasta dish . might explain their ability to deal with staff shortages during Covid as they're cooking orders twice . Indeed duplicate orders take longer - my 10 year old pointed out a group that arrived after us had been served and left - daughters ceasar had no dressing and she found a small bone in the chicken - my pizza margherita was cold and had hunks of mozzarella which had barely seen the oven. I took a couple of bites and would only continue to eat if I was desperate which I wasn't - zero apology and waiter who was whispering to a colleague on our way out , prob the business manager who may respond with a justification to this review . Horrible experience last night in the back room (that needs a heater). We were sat promptly and place was packed... it all went downhill from there. Took almost 30 minutes for our waitress to take our order and we actually had to wave someone over because there was zero acknowledgement of our table. The waitress apologized but seemed a bit frazzled. We wanted to just forget it and move on! However, we received the wrong bottle of wine, never got waters for everyone at the table even though we asked 2x and half of our pizzas had mushy dough that tasted as if it was heated through via a microwave. We asked for pizza toppings too and never received them. Wanted to love this place so much but quickly became our least favorite place in Stowe after our 2 hour expensive mushy pizza dinner. read more

The place was half empty for a very late lunch and they seated us at the worst table in the place right next to the order station so I had to listen to all of the conversation by the servers about going to NYC and not getting carded for booze at the liquor store. Yawn. Anyway, the food was decent but the service was slow for a restaurant that didn't have many customers in it. It took forever to get our beverages after we ordered. I'm not saying don't go, just don't have super high expectations. They could improve by doing a few basic things better. We would give this place 5 stars for in restaurant dining; 2 at best for delivery. The pizzas are delicious. Tasty crust, tasty sauce and cooked just right. The fried brussel sprouts are great. We got chicken and meatball parm subs-meatballs were really good. Both subs had plenty of chicken and meatballs. But Both needed more sauce as they were pretty dry when we got via delivery. We would recommend eating in the restaurant or picking up an order versus delivery. The delivery driver could not find our place, we had to go out and find him. Which ok can understand not knowing specific areas of a resort but we carried everything back ourselves - they don't have bags and he was fine with just piling stuff onto us to carry. And seemed annoyed we had to tell him we could not carry more and would have to take a 2nd trip back up to get the rest. Never offered to help bring it himself. A quick glance out of the window reveals a summer sunset dotted with hot air balloons. A look around inside shows a packed restaurant with customers eager to eat the delicious food at Piecasso! My friend and I came up to Stowe for the hot air balloon show and after a careful examination of restaurant menus, we decided to go here for our dinner. We both got delicious thin crust pizzas. I got mine on a wheat crust (the tree hugger one). It was so unbelievably filling and delicious! I was so, so happy with it! My friend got the caprese and was also very happy. The food is pricey. It's Stowe, they can be. However, the quality is fantastic and it's worth it! read more

We came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't extremely busy but after trying their pizza i can definitely see this place being packed!! We ordered a small pizza with pepperoni and garloc knots. A-M-A-Z-ING!! all the ***** reviews are on point. The pizza was well cooked. The crust was so soft with a slight crunch. The ingredients were definitely fresh and the cheese was sooo good!! The garlic knots were out of this world. My husband and i are from NYC and consider ourselves pizza aficionados, to say the least! Piecasso definitely knows what it's doing and we will surely be back. Also, our waitress, i am terrible and forgot her name, but she was so polite and helped us pick out a local cider... Oh my! He had Caesar salad with chicken and declared it the best Caesar dressing he'd had in a long time! And I promise he eats them regularly. I had a small Greek salad with shrimp and the calzone! Last night of our vacation and we wanted to just go back to the hotel, chill with some pizza and a bottle of wine. Checked out Piecasso and were excited to see they had a gluten free option, called ahead and ordered (they just have one size of the GF, so we ordered two to be safe). I guess like buying eggs at the supermarket, I should be in the habit of opening the boxes up before leaving to make sure it wasn't "broken" but we aren't that picky especially when it comes to GF. Well, that's assuming the thing is actually cooked, of course. Got back to the room and somehow both pizzas were totally undercooked. It looked like they had partially pre-cooked some of the ingredients, like sausage, and threw the whole thing in the oven for maybe 5 minutes. The dough and most of the ingredients were totally undercooked. Throw in that the two pizzas and nothing else coming to $47 dollars (!!!) and it was a total rip-off. While waiting, someone called to complain about their order and one of the girls said to the other, "again"? So, maybe they're just in a rough patch, though it wasn't busy at all at least for the sit-down crowd, so I don't know what happened to our food. We got drunk enough to eat a couple pieces, threw the rest of the $47 away, and ate some beef jerky we had brought for the ride. read more

I was debating between 3 and 4 stars. Went with 4. Came here for dinner on a Monday night, starting to get busy, about 5:30. We were seated in a section with other families but still pretty empty. Our server helped us but we needed time to look at beverage and food menu. We did order a child's meal right away though. We didn't see her again until his meal was ready, and we had to say we were ready to order. We had the silly bread with cheese and then the pesto chicken pizza. I thought the pizza was good and liked the crust too. When we left it was a pretty happening place. Nothing too special but a good variety, not just pizza. read more
