My parents live in the area, and I've been here about 5 times with them. While the atmosphere and setting is very nice (right on the water) I have yet to have a decent meal here. We went today for lunch with a large group, and 3 of us ordered the chef's special sandwich, which was turkey, bacon, and Swiss cheese on a croissant. The sandwich was ice cold with zero flavor. I ate almost one half of the sandwich because was hungry, but had to force it down. I can't remember previous meals I've had here, but have never enjoyed any. Also, I rarely post reviews because I'm not the type of person who gets bent out of shape over bad food, but I've had it with this place. Ate dinner last night in party of 10. Reservation at 6:30 pm; restaurant was full (good sign on a Tuesday night). Our host reserved indoor table; table situated with nice view of the river. Happy Hour until 7:00, so drinks & small plates were discounted. (Glass of Cabernet Sauvignon for $5.) Our server (Melissa) was excellent. My NY strip steak with a sauce (sides of roasted potatoes & spinach) was delicious. The rest of our party ordered pasta, seafood, & sushi; all said they liked their meals. 2 of us ordered dessert (peanut butter pie & crème brûlée); both were superb. A bit pricy: my wine, entrée, & dessert came to $60 with taxes & tip. But, the food, service, & setting made this a good value. read more

The atmosphere and view are wonderful. The service is ok, except they try to take away your plate while you're still eating. The food is disappointing. I'm been there several times for group event luncheons and I don't think I've ever seen shrimp or scallops on the menu. Today I had fish and chips. It was 3 very small planks of cod and some soggy fries. The fries were barely cooked. I left hungry. No one in the group had anything great to say about the food. It was just so-so. read more

From the moment we entered to give our name at the hostess desk, my instinct was turn around and run. The two young hostesses were rude and dismissive. They remained that way until a more experienced woman came to the stand and suddenly the mood lightened. From there, the food was mediocre buffet fare. I have eaten at Pier 22 a number of times including this year and always enjoyed it. My family and I dined here on Thanksgiving with 3 of us having the Thanksgiving meal, one who ordered the veggie dish, and another who ordered steak. All of the food was amazing! The staff were very busy with ours and others' outdoor dining as well as all of the indoor dining, but pleasantly waited on us in a very timely manner and most helpful. Our Thanksgiving meal plates were large and completely filled food including turkey/gravy, dressing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, sweet potatoes and more. It was just all so delicious that 2 of us will be coming back for Christmas (the others are in another state now)! read more

Waited more than 30 minutes for our meal to be served that the eggs Benedict had congealed Hollandaise and solid eggs. A soup that was ordered was also so thick it was basically a bowl of paste. It looked like it was gonna be a nice formal establishment inside, but the service was basic at best with very little formal dining training to the staff. The worst thing was that the food was even more basic, like something you'd get at in casual beach bar. It doesn't line up with the prices on the menu. Even the muscles which are usually an easy choice tasted like they were frozen and the beards were all still attached, half not even opened. The fried calamari was rubbery also probably frozen. The pizza was soggy. And the burgers look like something you could get at the GFS grocery store. I was not prepared for that food and the uncomfortable seating. We were polite we were hungry and we left without ever thought to come back. Sorry for not including a picture but I'm nothing to show for that. We were seated without silverware so as our appetizers came out, we were unable to eat them. Yes, restaurants are busy and have off days, however this seemed like a very off day for them. Bloody Mary taste like it should have shrimp in it but was garnished with a slice of lemon, slice of lime, and celery....was not worth the $8. The menu said pork osso bucco... what came was a pork shank on the bone--no access to the marrow, which was cooked solid. The three asparagus spears that sat atop the reconstituted mashed potatoes were cooked within an inch of their life... then cooked another three inches. The bison ribeye was drowned in a fruit compote and was tasteless. None of if stood out in anyway, except for the two shrimp that were could have substituted as a salt lick for wildlife. The service was not bad, which is something of a miracle as it must be absolutely depressing to have to serve this awful food and try to pass it off as upscale. read more

We live literally in sight of Pier 22 I just sat at the bar on Saturday May 18 2019 @3:30pm and I got ignored by the bartender which was a fuck boy. I ordered a drink and stated I wanted to order dinner, he ignored me and my boyfriend and I had to ask him to place an appetizer. I get the appetizer, He never asks how are your drinks or how is your appetizer instead he stands right in front of me eating his dinner in the walk in cooler without giving it a thought. I had to ask for the check and he never even gave a damn- I'm a bartender and I have never given a bad review but this guy would not be allowed on my crew and I'm very compassionate! read more

It's unfortunate that I have to write about my awful Fathers Day experience here. We frequent this restaurant often and decided to try inside as we always eat on the patio. I ordered a surf and turf dinner with the scallops well done and steak medium. What came out was a well well done steak about 1/8 inch thick in gravy and two small cold scallops. The waitress immediately looked at the entree knowing that is not at all what I ordered. She was excellent and tried to help. I did not want my party to wait for another meal to be prepared so I told her I was all set. The most disappointing part of the experience was that the manager did not come to see what happened. No apologies for ruining our meal. It was not even that busy so there was no excuse. Honestly I felt like I was at the Ponderosa looking at my plate. Totally disappointed!!! read more

When the check came I was disappointed that their happy hour did not include 2 drinks for the price of 1. We had 2 drinks each which cost us $20 instead of $24.
