We were disappointed. They had a band so we couldn't eat in. We took our food back to the hotel. It might have been better if we could have ate there. I just experienced bad customer service for the first time at this place. Someone named Christian answered the phone to take my take out order and he said "could you hold for a couple of minutes" I proceeded to hold and he never came back to the phone, I was on hold for 15 minutes. I drove to the location on grant ave and Christian proceeded to ask me what can he help me with and he was obviously drunk at the bar and admitted to forgetting that I was on the phone and apologized. I proceeded to order and he was rude, rushing me and slamming a menu in my face when I ordered onion pierogis for my mom and said "our pierogi menu changes all the time we don't have that" I called my mom to see what she wanted and he couldn't wait for me to finish my order so he gave it to someone else. I proceeded to wait another 30 minutes for my food and they didn't offer anything for my inconvenience or their lack of courtesy. I hope they can stay sober while working and I hope they don't inconvenience anyone and then be rude about it. Fries were not done all the way and my vegan snitszel was overcooked and now I'm just sad and crying. Hope this helps. I pray no one ever experiences this kind of rude treatment. I wish i could give them a higher rating because their food is pretty good but 2 dollars per pierogi! Come on man! Granted it takes sone work to hand make them, I've made a few hundred in my day, but they're small to medium. I was really expecting bigger. Additionally, the hiluski was mostly dumpling, thats just lazy. Give us the good, flavorful stuff for 6.50 a small bowl. Anyone can make strips if dough for pennies. Okay food but not very authentic except for the kolaches (cookies). We lived in Europe six years working in and visiting 13 countries.

I was looking forward to some authentic Polish food. I don't know anything about the background of this establishment, but I got the feeling that someone's grandma was rolling in her grave when her family recipes were "modernized" so poorly. The classics were OK-ish. The modern, fusion adaptations were not. The texture and flavor of the actual noodles were outstanding. Unfortunately they were accompanied by boring pierogi fillings, things that shouldn't try to be in pierogis, or otherwise failed attempts at recipes. The haluski was not good - like if someone said "this is bland" and the cook added black pepper in a continuous cycle until the diner gave up due to spiciness and the cook declared victory. The paprikash was more like a rice-free Polish curry than what grandma used to make. The sausage was forgettable. Actually, the one interesting thing was the goat cheese pierogi. The service was friendly and hospitable. The ambiance needed a bit of work. The beer selection was decent. Overall, I would say to save your money, give up your dreams of delicious Polish food, and go across town for the classic German food instead. I wish I had. read more

I got the pastrami pierogi, SUPER GOOD. I definitely underestimated the size and how filled it was, so I would definitely recommend grabbing a few if this is for a meal and not a snack. Yet, the price for each one was so cheap that that didnt even make me feel bad for getting more. I got the stroganoff which was alright but had way too much sauce in comparison to the noodles. I the curry coconut sweet potato; Gouda and asparagus, spinach and artichoke and the berry pierogi and an order of chicken paprikash poutine Pierogi Mountain. They had a special of a pastrami style house made sausage which I also ordered. The pierogi were great, I was quite surprised with how much I liked the berry one, it was definitely my wild card one but surprisingly very good. The poutine was delicious, I tend to like my paprikash a little heavier on the paprika side, so I was slightly disappointed there. Have you been to Pierogi Mountain yet? If not get your butt there immediately! Pierogies are one of my childhood comfort foods but as an adult I was sad to discover the monstrosity that is Mrs. T's pierogies, which are nothing close to what I remembered. They are icky globs of dough with no filling. If you have those in your freezer, throw them away RIGHT NOW and go to Pierogi Mountain. The pierogies here take me right back to the ones I had as a kid which were made by old Polish ladies in the basement of a church in Youngstown, Ohio. What's more, there are vegan options (!!) which suits my dietary preferences these days. There's a wide variety of flavors and they're always unique and delicious. On my most recent visit I ordered Grippo's BBQ and Cheezy Broccoli. Amazing. They are even served with onions and sour cream (vegan available if you wish!). The sausage balls tasted like leftover stuffing from thanksgiving dinner rolled into a ball. The sauerkraut balls were crunchy on the outside but were gummy inside. It was like eating raw flour paste. The pierogies were mushy. My sister had paprikash. Her dumplings were heavy, too big and also tasted like eating clumps of flour paste. The ratio of paprikash to dumpling made it seem like we ordered a bowl of dumplings with a little paprikash. Our waitress was sweet but service was slow. My bottled beer was delicious! Perogie Mountain takes me back to my college eating habits. It's nestled inside a little bar and are not a good choice if you are trying to be healthy. Potatoes, potatoes, potatoes. My husband and I ordered 3 perogies each and split an order of the poutine. We left there feeling like we needed to get some protein. Overall the flavor was good but I left there feeling a little sick. I don't eat much greasy/oily food so it didn't settle well with me. Another thing is that all of the perogies look the same so there is no way of identifying which perogies are which. Normally a game of perogie roulette would sound fun but my husband ordered one that had ingredients I'm allergic to, and they gave that one to me. Which could be another reason I left there sick and unhappy. I also want to point out that my husband bit into a staple while eating the poutine. This place is a gem. We ate lunch at the bar. The server was more than accommodating and answered all our questions. The pierogies are sold individually making it easy to sample many. A side salad was better than expected with marinated veggies. The potato pancakes were crispy, if not a bit over cooked. Several vegan options available. Had the chicken paprikash and mushroom stroganoff (non vegan) and the Hungarian poutine fries. Absolutely terrible! Will never order that again! Paprikash did not have the sweet paprika taste nor the sour cream taste at all. Stroganoff had a foul bitter taste and did not taste like mushrooms at all (and I LOVE mushrooms). That's what they used on the poutine not the paprikash sauce like stated on menu. Had to force myself to eat the paprikash but could not force myself to eat the stroganoff or fries. Good food, food slow to come out. Server was great and very friendly. Food was very slow to come out and came out in parts rather that both our food together. One of our main entrees cam out a few minutes after ordering and the rest of our food came out about 30 minutes later. I just ordered Pierogi Mountain from UberEats and it was amazing! I ordered one of each of the pierogis and I loved each one in a different way. I also order the kielbasa with grilled sauerkraut and mustard. I scarfed them all done within 20 minutes. Absolutely an utter disappointment. From getting the order wrong to not including fried onions to overall being less than mediocre I don't even know where to start. I'm Russian so I can easily say that I am a pierogi aficionado. And while I know the no pierogi will live up to my grandmother's, I know a good one from a bad one. They threw in a sweet pierogi with six savory ones. That's sweet one was the only surprise in the box. And the only one with some flavor. The poutine was an abomination. I love the real thing so I thought I would try this version. And it was so sad. I took three bites and realized my dogs would get to enjoy this mess that they have given me. Fries covered in basic ass cheese and whatever else they threw in there. No flavor, no surprises just disappointment. I also paid $0.75 for a ramekin of pickles. They were okay. Just okay. Nothing to pat yourself on the back for. My brother told me that this place was meh okay, so I thought how do you mess up a pierogi especially if it's in the name of your restaurant.
