This used to be my favorite restaurant when I didn't diet! I haven't been going back literally because everytime I used to come here I would eat my heart out. Now after 3-4 years of not going, I decided to go back to my roots with my now southern partner and eat my favorite chicken biscuit in all of the world! Immediately my eyes were wide awake when I saw my favorite chicken biscuit! Dripping with tons of honey butter on the bottom of the plate and seeing the steam come out made me speechless. I would recommend eating this right away as when it starts getting cold ( we ate outside ) the magic starts to disappear and I notice more of the honey which I'm not a sweet tooth so I didn't have the same flavor as when I used to come here. I remember it being a lot more spicy. So I would recommend adding the hot sauce to it so it balances it out. My theory is that the neighborhood sort of changed and I guess more people complained about how spicy it used to be??? Not sure but I missed how spicy it once was. It's always CHEAPER TO GET A SUPERBOWL if you want to try the sides. 3 sides + a biscuit or a cornbread. The biscuits here are to die for but we tried the cornbread for the first time and I think my partner said it was too dry for her taste and also wasn't sweet or savory so they didn't get a point for that. Please stick to the biscuit and honey butter and jam! The hush puppies were not that great because it was plain with a side of tartar sauce which isn't normally southern according to my partner and was just weird for her. I thought it was ok but maybe the tartar sauce should be saved for catfish. (The catfish is SO GOOD HERE) Mac and cheese is my all time favorite and you must add their hot sauce to it. It's something that comforts me to my bone and this will never be replaced in my heart. The collards was also amazing! Biscuits and gravy were great as well they're not that meaty which is what I like and it's herby and filled with flavors of rosemary and sage! Love! The pie was also so tasty. The crust was the selling point of how crunchy and crispy it was! You don't really need ice cream since it already comes with whipped cream on top. I honestly had a great time here, dog friendly in their heated patio and you can't go wrong with most of their food. I remember I had a great time scarfing down their catfish box and fried chicken box in the past along with ordering their hot chocolate in the winters. If you're craving southern food in Williamsburg, you won't do better than the food at Pies n Thighs. I've had their fried chicken, biscuits, honey butter, chicken biscuit sandwich, cinnamon roll, and toffee donut, and all are great choices! Don't be afraid of the hot sauce. It is very mild and is a delicious combination with the honey butter on the chicken biscuit. Service and experience eating in was lackluster. The restaurant is very small and they pack the tables in. I only saw one waiter servicing tables so she was understandably very busy. We did not receive our drinks that we ordered with the food until the meal was almost finished, and I had to search for more water. However, the food was so good I didn't mind. Next time I go back, I'll get it to go and eat at the playground/plaza a block away. That way it'll still be nice and hot while I eat it, but will have a little more space to spread out and enjoy. read more

We made a reservation for 10am Saturday morning when they first opened but we probably could have just lined up at 10 and gotten right in. There are also 5 or 6 outdoor tables. Service was so friendly, quick and efficient. Hands down the best biscuit and fried chicken I've had. The honey butter was also perfect consistency. I liked that I could order a biscuit and a couple single pieces of chicken as I didn't want a whole platter (saved room for dessert). I had the coconut lime donut, which was packed with flavor and had just the right amount of crisp on top. However, the center was dense and dry, so it was literally a little hard to swallow. Unfortunately, the whole dining experience was lacking. First, someone in the dining room was blasting their phone out loud without speakers, which made me not want to sit inside. In such a small space, someone being selfish with their speakerphone ruins the experience, at least for someone like me who thinks people shouldn't be selfish with noise. Second, when I asked the people behind the counter if the coconut lime doughnut was cake or yeast -- not an unusual question about donuts -- one of them replied: "it's a coconut lime donut," which is not an answer to my question. I asked again and they had no idea what I was talking about. Instead of saying, "I'm not sure, let me go ask," they just stared at me. I'd suggest giving the people who work here a little bit more of a background on the food that they're selling, and also to be even a tiny bit friendly instead of unsmiling. This spot has been on my bookmark for the longest time and I am glad it was worth the time when I was finally in the area looking for a spot to get food. I stopped in around 4:30PM, where they had super limited seating, but I was able to get a table pretty quickly. I relied heavily on recommendations, which the server, Izzy (according to my receipt), was super helpful and friendly in assisting me. I got the Fried Chicken Box ($19), which came with three pieces of fried chicken, a buttermilk biscuit & choice of side. The side I chose was the Burnt End Baked Beans. The fried chicken were moist and tasted great. Seasoned very well and fried to perfection. The butter that came with the meal I applied to the biscuit and damn it tasted amazing. That butter had some sort of flavoring to it and will definitely clog on artery, but YOLO. The Burnt End Baked Beans has pork, hence burnt end, but also a little spicy kick to it. The various flavors in one bite is astonishing and of course I finished the entire cup of beans. On another note, they also have happy hour between 5-7PM? Where the entire beer selection is $2 off. I liked that the chicken is crispy and juicy, and obviously goes well with waffles, syrup and hot sauce (Ive lived in the South for a bit, and I'd say don't knock it until you've tried it). I'd personally recommend the chicken sandwich over the other menu items since you're getting chicken for the best bang for your buck. As a lover of Southern food, this place has been on my bucket list for so long and I finally made my way in on a Saturday morning. I wasn't aware that they accepted reservations, so I came early at 11am to ensure I had a seat and I was greeted with friendly staff who allowed me to sit anywhere of my choosing. We sat outside because it was a beautiful summer day. My friend & I decided to order the Fried Chicken & Waffles, Fish & Grits and shared the Biscuit with Jelly & Cream Cheese because I couldn't leave without trying a biscuit. This review is solely for pie! We ordered slices of apple pie, key lime pie, and maple bourbon pecan. The service was swift and the price point was steep with kind staff and desserts abounds. We picked up and entered the small cozy restaurant with bustling hungry customers and fast footed servers tallying up orders. It's simple really. We didn't want to take a weekend table just for dessert so we ordered take out. The keylime was sublime (LOL that rhymes!) with a buckling tartness perfectly balanced with enough sweet. The graham cracker crust was not tender soft and still had great crumb to accompany smooth puckering filling. Definitely a winner! The Apple pie was down home and stuffed with fruit, the crust was flaky and there was a great balance with cinnamon and butter. This pie was comforting for a cold winter evening filled with galavants. The last pie was the pecan bourbon with laced notes of maple but it was a boozy pie. If this pie had a rapper name, I'd call her Big Boozy. Though this was very good, it was just a notch too boozy for us and that's totally personal preference. I'm not Prue Leith from Great British Bake Off. I'm merely just a man. The crust was still a bit tender underneath pie likely due to custard and the visible crust was super crispy. Pecans were sweetened and not cloying with a custard that though decadent still wasn't overwhelming with exception to big bourbon showing up. I've wanted to come here for awhile, and came here yesterday for a dad/daughter breakfast. The inside is very small, which had limited seating. However, we were told we could eat in the outdoor fixture. Shortly after sitting down, my daughter and I noticed a foul smell from inside. The smell was like a wet mop, it was rather peculiar, but we made the best of it. I ordered the Big Breakfast (eggs, grits, and biscuit) and a side order of Macaroni and Cheese; my daughter had a cheeseburger. I also ordered a boozy milkshake without the marshmallows, but when it came out, it did have marshmallows, and the server tried to convince me it was whipped cream. Immediately upon walking in the smell of fried chicken and sweet waffles hit me in the face. They take your name down and seat you accordingly, but you can also order to go. I loved that the chicken was still juicy, even the breast. The biscuit is buttery and flakey, and tasted fresh too. I got it with a side of mac and cheese and it wasn't the best I've ever had, but still good. * Fried Catfish Box - 7.5/10 - The catfish was coated in a corn meal breading, which made it very crunchy. The fish was cooked perfectly and flaked off, but I think it tasted fishy. I got it with a side of baked beans and they gave a hearty portion with a lot of meat too. The tartar sauce and coleslaw added a nice fresh and sour zing to the dish. * Banana Cream Pie - 10/10 - From the whipped cream, to the filling, to the crust, this pie was delicious. It was not too sweet and the banana flavor really shined. * Toffee Butter Pecan Donut - 9/10 - The dough itself is fluffy and not too sweet. I came here a couple of times and I think this place has the best Mac n cheese. That is my favorite item off the menu for me. The Mac n cheese is not your typical yellow and salty Mac n cheese you usually find at a Boston Market type of Mac n Cheese. I don't know what it is but the taste is just right and very delicious. It's very addicting too. Light yellow and not too salty and wet. The chicken is a bit dry sometimes, especially the thigh part but the bread crumbs are pretty good. It's always very crowded in this place and has a noisy ambience. Very retro on the outside with those vintage light bulbs decorated around the whole store. This place just sits right by the Williamsburg bridge in the corner of nowhere. It's not next to anything but residential buildings so it's not that easy to miss it. read more

The staff were very kind and warm and very attentive to our table, which is always appreciated. No complaints. One of the highlights of the meal. Mac & Cheese - This was a major miss. Overcooked, mushy, and almost no cheese flavor. The texture was off, and it just didn't taste fresh. Apple Pie - A ton of apple slices (which I liked), and the sweetness was spot-on. I just wish it had been creamier to help balance all that fruit. First of all, I don't even EAT chicken. I don't like the taste of chicken in general but decided to give this a chance because the incredible staff convinced me that it was worth a try. My partner doesn't like fried foods, and the chicken biscuit was both of the things we don't have preferences for. We got it anyway, and IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS WE'VE EVER HAD. The hot honey sauce on the chicken is just an absolute work of art and the entire meal in general felt like a story. I don't think I've ever bit into something so tender but also breaded so perfectly. The texture artfully mastered. We live far from here but would definitely return here for this chicken biscuit. Not to mention, the person who was helping us (wish I remembered his name) but he's tall, dark brown hair, and glasses, just was so genuine and made us feel like an old friend or something. Pes-n-Thighs always has solid food and I'm really glad to hear that they deliver to places even in Queens on UberEats. I ordered the fried catfish, biscuit, and the black-eyed peas salad. The fried catfish is fantastic and the pickles complement it really well. The black-eyed peas salad is also really good- it is a bit tangy but it definitely works. Now, of course I save the best for last- that biscuit. My god it is so, so good. The perfect flakiness, buttery, huge biscuit- seriously. Last week, I visited Pies-n-Thighs on Halloween. I got the Chicken Biscuit which is "slathered in hot sauce and honey butter." The staff is very friendly and helpful in this cozy & chill spot. I needed a little help picking out dessert, but I ultimately settled on the Bourbon Pecan Pie. One more thing, the seasonal pumpkin beer (on draft) pairs perfectly with either food item. read more
