Nice find for our trip back from Brookings. I enjoyed my lasagna with lots of cheese and my friends liked their vegetarian manicotti and cannelloni. Creamy Italian dressing salad was tasty with fresh veggies. Nice young man was our server. He hustled as he managed all the tables. read more

Ummm...super yum!! Who would have thought you'd find authentic, delicious Italian food in Cave Junction? We selected this place out of a binder of options provided in our treehouse (a whole other fabulous experience) and are so happy we did. Luckily we were able to dine in soon after COVID restrictions were lifted. Once you hit the door the aromas and atmosphere give hints that you're in for something good. First off...wine, $15 per bottle for a pretty solid collection. Don't know if selection was just solid because COVID forced some goodies out of the cellar or if options are always varied. We had a 2013 Tempranillo by Matchbook that was spot on. I ordered the cannelloni, while the others ordered lasagna and cheese ravioli with dinner salads and an order of minestrone. The starters were simple yet delicious ways to get you ready for our delicious entrees. We were the only ones seated in the restaurant while waiting for our food to be prepared (be patient, it's worth it) we saw several locals cone in to pick up take out. Everything came out hot and smelled so amazing. Portions are very generous and the depth of flavors was incredible. Would definitely visit again! read more

I am so happy that we were finally able to check this place out. As soon I walked in I knew it would be satisfying. The smell through my mask was telling. We had the lasagna bolognese. And it tasted like home cooking at its best. The ranch/Italian mixed dressing is delish. Wish I had extra. And the garlic bread. We scarfed down two servings. That garlic butter . I eat out with my 12-year old and she writes the review. My mom says it has high curb appeal, I don't know I was asleep. When I entered they seated us in a fairly small dining room. The sherbet dude was pleasant but slow. The atmosphere was haymish, but quite enjoyable. The color scheme is mostly muted tones of mild mustard and deep red. I ordered plain spaghetti, simple as it is, it was quite delectable. The pasta tasted good, though there was a small pool of butter at the bottom of my plate. (I named it Farix) My dad had the spaghetti with sausage. He said it was good but needed a little bam. The lentil soup was god but not great. Brought it down to a 4. We stayed in Cave Junction for two nights on our minimoon and ordered from Pietro's. SO GLAD WE DID! I cannot eat gluten or dairy, and the woman who took my order over the phone was incredibly helpful. They can make almost everything gluten free and were able to really cater to my dietary needs. The spaghetti was delicious and so was the minestrone soup. When we came to pick up our meals, I loved the energy and atmosphere of the place. I highly recommend! read more

I ordered the cheese ravioli special with mushrooms to go. It came with a simple salad and garlic bread. This was so much good food for the price! They made my to go order 10 minutes before close which I really appreciated. The gentlemen who let me in was lovely too. As for the food it was genuinely delicious. The mushroom/cheese/ garlic sauce on the ravioli was exactly what I wanted. Great meal & will be back again. read more

I have a friend who absolutely loves this place! I've been there twice, and both times the food was good, but I just kept getting a feeling that something was missing... It's cozy, the service is absolutely wonderful, but the food could use a bit more attention. I will eat there again, but I can't say that it's my favorite Italian restaurant. read more

Very Good Italian for Little Cave Junction Cave Junction, the town closest to Oregon Caves National Monument, is pretty small and only has tourists for a few months each year. So we didn't expect much for restaurant choices. Pietro's, however was a good find. The owner is from Sicily and knows good food. The restaurant itself is a small unassuming place. From the road we weren't even sure if it was open for business when we drove by earlier in the day. The owner puts out a big "OPEN" flag at dinnertime. Our server was effusive and very friendly. The atmosphere inside is simple. Diners have the options on most pasta dishes to order a full or smaller size. Full size is quite large--OK if you live nearby, but not helpful if you are traveling. We got a lasagna and a chicken dish. Both were very good. Accompanying salads were quite nice. We would be happy to return if we found ourselves Cave Junction in the future. read more

Don't be put off by the external appearance of this place -- tiny building, no landscaping, bars on the windows . . . It's actually a very nice small family-run Italian restaurant and surprisingly good food for this out of the way small town. I was there for work and four of us had dinner, each ordering something different. Everyone enjoyed their dish and was pleasantly surprised. I had a basic spaghetti with olive oil, garlic, and basil. Now you may think, how can you go wrong with those basic great ingredients, but it's surprising the number of restaurants that can manage to blow that simple dish. This place did it just right. Quality olive oil, lots of garlic sauteed to just golden, a generous sprinkling, but not overpowering amount of basil. Good, friendly service and locally owned and family operated! read more

Best Italian food in Southern Oregon. Small owner operated place with authentic Italian food. Call first during Christmas Holiday season because the owner/chef Nino goes back to Siciliana to visit his parents two weeks every year around that time. we live in Grants Pass and this is the place we take our out of town visitors for pasta, far better than anything found in Grants Pass, Medford, or Ashland. Nino is a great guy & chef too. If you go there call first as the tiny town of Cave Junction rolls up the sidewalks around dusk & most places out there in the boonies close early. Most everything is made on site from scratch & only one chef thus said prep time can be 30 minutes to an hour for a big order but the food is great & nino's kitchen is spotless, best of all he's really from Italy & his folks still live there. My mouth is watering just thinking about Pietro's! Time to go back again. My husband usually gets the tortillini in white sauce. Full order (huge plate full), left overs are dinner for the next night. I enjoy garlic and clams. The angle hair pasta with clams - exquisite! Lots of clams, lots of garlic:) The large ravioli in virgin olive oil and mushrooms with - you guessed it, lots of garlic. Everyone we've taken there & we've taken all our out of town guests there, have enjoyed. If you're appetite is less robust, try the garlic chicken salad Mmm, Mmm, good. This restaurant is phenomenal! The food is reasonably priced, well prepared and absolutely delicious. The owner (also our cook and server) was friendly and gracious, and we enjoyed every minute of time there. I would recommend this place to everyone I know. For it's cozy atmosphere, wonderful service and food quality, this restaurant far surpasses any other restaurant I've tried in the "city." It's amazing!
