    Tom kha soup
    Andrew S.

Well, we really wanted to like it, but sadly they fell a little short. The menu is vast, and covers a lot of ground- so lots of people can find stuff they like, and I think the size of the menu impacts the quality of the dishes. We had the Ahi tuna appetizer, which was best described as not very inspiring. Sauce was bland, but the presentation was beautiful. The Tom kha soup was the winner of the night/ with a flavorful broth that was packed full of ingredients. This dish I recommend. Tried the Big Hut Sushi Stack, and this is another one that was tasty and constructed nicely. The cucumbers were sliced too large to eat with the rest of the dish, and the onions were way overpowering. I would rate this a 4 out of 5. Good quality ingredients, but just missing a little. For sushi, they only have Tuna, Salmon and Eel served as sashimi or in rolls; interestingly, they do not serve any nigiri, so this really isn't a sushi restaurant. Fried rice was a large portion that was good, but not great. Thai iced tea was also nice and enjoyable. They are close, perhaps if they shrank the menu, they would be able to make some memorable dishes

I first have to absolutely tell you that I'm 100% biased. I love the original Pin Wok Bowl restaurant in St. Petersburg. I know this restaurant is run by the same group. There's no way I could hate this restaurant. This new restaurant has a surprisingly different menu. They have a really cool lunch special that allows you to choose many small dishes -- A really nice concept. I ordered everything from sushi to sashimi, eggrolls to appetizers, and even noodles to salads. A very big selection. My wife joined me for lunch so that opened up the possibilities to even more. The bad news... We went two days after a major hurricane in the area. I really think that affected the service. We got a seat pretty quickly, but after that it was downhill for service. Definitely not a quick lunch spot if that's what you're looking for... or at least not post hurricane. The food was good as I would expect... BUT some dishes were hot, some a little warm, and some were just darn cold. I'll definitely have to give this restaurant another shot when mother nature's wrath isn't affecting the service.

No frills Asian spot within walking distance of the Trop. Edamame was steamed & plentiful, Pad Thai was good, tho a tad on the sweeter side. Portions & prices fair.

4.5 stars Nice little restaurant that serves thai-ish food. The inside is small-ish so when we got there (3pm on a saturday) they were full inside and we got seated outside. But once the inside cleared up they offered us the option to move indoors. The decor and ambiance/setting is mid but honestly that kinda seems like a mark of authenticity in ethnic restaurants if you know what I mean. I got the Thai Basil rice bowl with tofu ($15?? i dont remember) and 4 onigiri (2 for $7). For the onigiri we got the tuna and avocado, salmon and avocado, seaweed salad and edamame, and spicy krab. The onigiri were delicious, the rice was well seasoned and there was a decent amount of filling. Perhaps it could do with more filling since the entire first bite was mostly rice. The thai basil rice was yummy, good flavor and good portion, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Kind of wish there was more sauce though. The veggies and tofu were cooked into the sauce but there wasn't a whole lot of extra sauce for me to mix into the rice. The tofu was a good texture. My gf got the kee mao ramen and it definitely had quite a kick to it so be warned but the flavor was very good. All in all, the food was quite flavorful and yummy and not for a bad price either. The staff was very nice and it was an overall pleasant experience.

Small lunch plate with Katsu chicken, noodles and spring rolls

While I miss the days of Chaing Mai at this location and I resisted going to Pin On Cafe until 9/15/2023, I was happily surprised with the replacement restaurant and it's offerings. Chaing Mai will always hold a special place in my heart, but I will be returning to Pin On Cafe. I went for lunch with friends from work and everyone was thoroughly pleased with their lunch. Each of us got the lunch special which allows you to pick a base, protein and sides. We each got the small except one in the bunch got the medium and we were all jealous at the variety on her butcher board "plate." Each item- from the sushi, to the proteins- were fresh and tasty. Those who ordered Thai tea loved it (I am not a fan). The spring rolls were a hit as was the tofu! I do not think you can go wrong with anything here. I do want to go back and try the Khao Sao, as it is a favorite of mine and you cannot find it many places. I will let you know once I try it! Great service- quick and friendly! Highly recommended!!!!

Cute spot in downtown St. Pete with indoor and outdoor seating. Everyone at the restaurant was very kind and the service was fast. We ordered a variety of appetizers, onigiri, and sushi, all of which were beautifully plated and, most importantly, tasted great. We've since ordered from them via UberEats and the food was still excellent. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town to try some of their other menu options. Their Thai iced tea was also really good!

Outside dog friendly. Server gave our dog some water without us asking. We love that! Food was great! Wife had the duck soup. Amazing!!! We have had duck before at a lot of places including Asian countries and this was right up there with the best. I had the raw tuna sandwich. Tuna was fresh. Though it was enjoyable I ended up eating the insides of the sandwich and it eating the bread just because the amount of tuna wasn't quite balanced with the size of the bread given. I would order again for sure. Great drink prices!!$4 domestic. Can't beat that.

Edamame, potstickers, fried rice. Salmon and tuna, fire cracker roll, chicken Katsu, lo mein noodles. This was really good.

They have moved. Still on Central avenue but now corner of 25th street. And still excellent food.

Pin On Cafe is a solid Asian-fusion spot in a great location right on central ave in st pete. I got the Yaki Udon and my girlfriend got the Panang Curry. I liked my noodles a lot and my girlfriend said her curry was good as well. The service was nice as is it is quite a small restaurant so they were able to stay on top of each table even though it was a busy Friday night. Overall a good experience, would definitely come back!

First visit as a local. Cute place with seating out doors on a corner where the Edge district is hopping now. Good Thai favorites large portions. Great prices. Service was prompt and attentive. We had Pang Yang Curry, Phad Thai, Spring Rolls. Food was fresh and cooked to order.

Have been dying to check out this place and finally did! It did not disappoint. I ordered the Touch Down roll, which is Salmon, cream cheese, avocado, krab, topped with spicy mayo, eel sauce, masago, scallion and sesame seed. Also, I ordered the Tiger Eyes Roll, which is Salmon, tuna, cream cheese, avocado, topped with tuna, salmon, masago, scallion, flake, eel sauce and spicy mayo. Both rolls were amazing! Everything was very fresh and flavorful. The service was also excellent. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

We went to a Ray's game and we're looking for something within walking distance before driving home. I saw this spot on Yelp and we decided to go. From the outside it's a little unassuming but it had great reviews. Everyone was so kind there. We ordered the Firecracker roll and Mexican roll. It was delicious! The Firecracker is a deep fried roll that is LIGHTLY battered, which I prefer. It was so good that we will definitely be back when we are in the area!

The Wooden Rooster: Where My Morning Got Its Life Together Before I Did…read more Listen... I came here expecting "just a crepe." What I got was a full-on personality upgrade. First off--the vibe. Somehow it's better than Kraft (yeah I said it), but like... calmer, cooler, and not screaming at you before coffee. It's peaceful, shady, low-noise... the kind of place where you feel like you should start journaling or making better life decisions. Now let's talk food. I ordered The B.E.A.S.T. and I'm not exaggerating when I say this thing deserves its own documentary. Bacon. Pesto. Sun-dried tomatoes. Eggs. It was like every breakfast all-star showed up and said, "Let's absolutely dominate this guy's morning." Perfect balance. Crispy, creamy, savory... I took one bite and immediately forgave myself for everything I've ever done wrong. And honestly? This is a WAY better place to start your morning than the bagel place down the street. You know the one. We've all settled for it. We don't have to live like that anymore. Also--huge shoutout to the service. These people were so nice I almost asked if they wanted to come manage my personal life too. Fast, friendly, and somehow still chill. Bonus points for the menu because where else can you go from a Nutty Joe dessert crepe to a Cubano crepe to a PB&J throwback without anyone questioning your life choices? Final verdict: If you're in downtown St. Pete and not coming here, you're making your mornings unnecessarily harder than they need to be. Wooden Rooster didn't just feed me-- it emotionally supported me.
