Inside space is quite spacious with lots of bowling lanes. Clean and cozy! Bench seating down at the lanes is a great comfortable idea. Stool seating is also available. Neon decor gives it a lively atmosphere. Love the WOW and YES along both ends of the walls! They have a huge snack bar + dining area, a big room filled with pool tables, a decent size arcade, and of course, the one and only Pin Point Bowling Concepts pro shop. Staff was friendly and nice. Pricing could be better, but I guess we got to go with inflation. Bowling is a very fun pastime for everyone of all ages. So glad Bowlero is keeping bowling alive. Thank you Bowlero! Come on out and enjoy some games of bowling! Join a league if you want. Or just hang out! Most importantly, just have fun!

Came out to Bowlero Montebello for an event and had a great time. I really loved the atmosphere,…read morethe lighting was spot on and made the space feel fun without being overwhelming. We had one lane set up for the kids with bumper guards and two lanes for the adults, which worked out perfectly. They also had all shoe sizes available with no issues. Plenty of parking made everything really convenient. I actually used to come here years ago to volunteer with the Special Olympics bowling team, and I can definitely say they've done quite a few updates since then. The space feels refreshed and more modern while still being comfortable and welcoming. We ordered pizza, fries, and both bone-in and boneless wings. Everything was surprisingly good for a bowling spot, definitely better than expected. The food quality honestly caught me off guard in a good way. The music wasn't overly loud like some other bowling alleys I've been to, which made it easy to talk and enjoy the event. While I probably won't come back regularly due to the distance, I'd absolutely attend another event here if one is hosted. Overall, great experience and a fun place for group events!

I came back on a separate day to offer my patronage and support. Parking is plentiful. Interior has an old school look and feel to it. Quite nostalgic! Very clean and organized, but not super bright. Most house bowling balls were old, dirty, and chipped. I don't use a house ball since I have my own personal bowling ball. They may want to invest in some new balls... just saying. Their bowling games were $9.50 per game that Saturday night. I ended up not bowling. I would love to return to take advantage of their Early Bird Special at $4.75 per game which is a great deal from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM on the weekend. League rate is $5.00 per game which is a steal, too (please note league must be hosted by Action Lanes to qualify). Bowling shoes are $5.00 per pair which isn't bad, but I have my own shoes so I don't need them. Please check out their other rates and promos online. When I was here, I had a wonderful conversation with Caleb. He was working behind the counter. Super friendly and nice young man. He gave me the scoop on which nights have leagues and when it was best to come here for best deals. Thanks Caleb! I didn't want to leave without supporting them. There's a boba shop inside the bowling alley, but they were closed at the time. I ended up buying one A&W Rootbeer from the vending machine. It wasn't a lot, but it was something. Quite a refreshing drink! I love bowling so I'll definitely be back to bowl. Thanks Action Lanes!

They have different set prices all days of the week so be sure to cadvantage of those if you're an avid bowler or want to come here with a group. The food here is actually decent. My husband and I ordered the popcorn chicken to share. As you can see from the photos, the attention to detail was there. From the golden brown color and seasoning on every piece. This was a perfect snack after an hour of bowling. I would order this again! Parking is shared with the other businesses in the plaza. It is large so you won't have to worry about not finding a spot. The business wasn't as busy when we came here during the week. There were a few lanes still open when we arrived. Overall, I recommend this spot. Whether you're a novice or a professional bowler, it's a great place to hang! If it weren't for the Yelp Elite Event held here, I wouldn't have thought to come back. Thanks, Action Lanes! See you again soon!

The karaoke, bowling, and snacks are priced as expected in places like these. The staff are fairly helpful when refunding points if there's a problem with a game. She was the only staff member who was actively checking up on my group while we were bowling, and she offered to clean the area for us. Fast forward to mid 20s, this place feels pretty ghetto in comparison. Prices have skyrocketed, random kids acting sketchy in the front late at night, smoking, drinking. If you go in the day, it smells like cigarettes anyway and/or passing the Dance Dance Revolution style games, you get a scent of sweat... pretty gross. The food sucks and is overpriced, most of the services are terrible, the machines break and/or get stuck. The claw machines barely grab or feel rigged and they hardly import actual new games from Japan anymore it seems. It just feels dead, like an era long gone. The bowling is absurdly expensive and the bathrooms are kind of run down. The prize store is also pretty bad too. If you really want to play everything here and go all out, you will spend over $100 easily. This place is just not worth visiting anymore unless you're going on a date to win some stuffed animals and want to walk away with a $200 hole in your wallet.

Hands down, without a doubt, best bowling alley food I've ever had in my existence. I'll start with the pizza because pizza is my favorite food. I was hesitant because I was at a bowling alley and I guess I've never had good food at a bowling alley until now. But when I looked around at all the pizza being served to different tables I just had to try it. I ordered the pepperoni pizza, and honestly it was sublime. I loved it. It was thin, crispy crust, good sauce, good cheese, good pepperoni. I devoured it. This pizza is better than most pizzas. I enjoyed it just as much as I have enjoyed Wildcrust, possibly enjoyed it more. Simply put, Highland Park Bowl makes a great pizza. Also got the calamari. Truly didn't have high expectations, maybe because I was at a bowling alley, but this calamari was shockingly good to me. Way better than expected, and would 100% order it again the next time I'm here. Additionally it was a pretty good sized portion. My wife ordered the burger and fries. She loved it. I tried it. I loved it. Fries were amazing. Would order it again for sure. The ambience is very cool. Had no idea this place has been around for like a century. Loved the vintage feel. So much character. Staff were super friendly. Although I think they may have been short staffed when we went. It seemed like there was only one server taking care of the whole place. She was really nice though and our food came out surprisingly quick. Came at 5:30pm on a Thursday and parked on the street right out front. Street parking is 1hr up until 8pm I believe. We were in and out of there in less than an hour. I timed it haha. Loved coming here and will be back sometime!

The Dude Abides. I'm…read morenot a devoted bowler, and when I do bowl, I am either completely helpless or sometimes pretty good, but either way, it is a fun sport and an entertaining diversion. This place is like a time warp. It's 99 years old as of this review and has a colorful history that you can read about on the website. In short, during Prohibition, "patients" would see "doctors" upstairs (where the restrooms are located now) and then fill "prescriptions" downstairs for booze and bowling. I'm sure the Dude would approve. Now, you just fill your prescriptions directly at the bar, cutting out the middleman. There aren't that many lanes but we came on a Saturday afternoon and didn't have to wait. The place just oozes history all around, from the banners on the wall, to the old school bowling ball return system. There are also lots of old photos up the staircase and on the second floor, too. The food we tried--a hot dog and a giant pretzel--was good and better than your average bar food. The cocktails, er, prescriptions, were nice looking and decent but a little odd. I had a mango whiskey sour. It was boozy and decent but a little strange (mango?). I would suggest ordering traditional cocktails, perhaps a White Russian, instead of the ones they offer on their drink menu. The two bars are gorgeous, by the way. The prices are high, of course, and definitely not Dude-friendly. The "hidden" speakeasy--a tiki bar, of all things--is at the front entrance. This place was a lot of fun. I would gladly return.

It was a busy night apparently, but the lane next to us was empty for the duration of the time we were there. Interesting, but whatever. My cousin, who competes in local competitions, said the lanes are kind of whack as the pins go down a bit too easily and reward the crappier players. Not sure what he meant by that, but I did bowl better than my usual average of 65. Prices are decent and we took advantage of the 3-game special where the third game is half-off. Balls are in pretty decent shape and they have small to X large for everyone. Pro tip: there's a pretty good bar in here, sort of a hidden spot for locals here. If the usual popular sports bars are too crowded when a big game is on, I usually just come here. Lots of beer on tap, the screens are pretty large, and their burgers and fries are pretty good. Their cocktails are pretty solid as well. Happy rolling!

The wait was about an hour and a half, but since I called ahead, it didn't feel long at all by the time I got there. Despite some of the other reviews I've seen about service, I personally had a great experience. Our server was super helpful and everything we ordered came out in a timely manner. The only downside was the restrooms, which were a little dirty and could definitely use more upkeep. That was really the only thing that stood out in a negative way. We played two games and had a lot of fun, but I will say... bowling is definitely more expensive than I remember Overall, a fun spot for a last-minute celebration and I'd come back again!
