dirty bird bowl pork spring rolls
    Steph W.

Great food, tried their dirty bird bowl. It is on the spicy side so if you can't handle spicy food, don't do it. Portion was perfect, chicken tasted delicious! Tried the spring rolls, better than what I expected. Came with a sauce, tasted homemade and wasn't too sweet. Waitress was nice and helpful. I got my stuff to go and came nicely packaged in timely manner. Clean place. Would go back when in area. Parking can get tricky and tight.

It's AAPI Month and we kicked it off with a visit to @pinchboilhouse. Check out their daily specials! Dad had Lemonade, Hubby had Pineapple Cider, and I had Kona Big Wave Golden Ale. We got the Pinch Fries to share. Dad had the Kap's Chicken Curry Bowl with coconut curry. Dad loved the sauce. I had the Prawn Star Bowl. Hubby had the Crab & Shrimp Combo. All the food was phenomenal! We got our first stamp and a 10% off the bill. Get the AAPI passport and check it out!

Always a good time, good food, great service. For the third time in two months, the team at Pinch have been nothing short of amazing. Always helpful, always making sure we don't want for anything super friendly. On this visit my brother came in from out of town and I was confident Pinch would prove a good venue for the get together. I tried the Thursday special - The Dirty Bird, which was fine. It has a good blend of flavor between the Korean bbq chicken and the cole slaw, pickles, and unami mayo, but it's nowhere near as awesome as the pulled pork curry. My mom went with the giant snow crab boil, my niece had a pound of crawfish, the kids had their sausage and shrimp lil bowls. My brother had the bahn mi pork rice bowl which he devoured, then picked at the others leftovers. Wasn't much left in the end. I've been here several times, but usually at lunch, and it hadn't seemed busy, but Thursday evening for dinner it can get busy. Plenty of parking out front in the evening when the other stores in the strip are closed. If you want a meeting spot with good beer, and food with an Asian zing, you won't be off the mark at Pinch.

Pinch Boil House is the comfort food that everyone needs in their lives! This amazing restaurant originally opened in downtown San Antonio and was one of the first ones (if not the first) to bring southeast asian-inspired food to the Alamo City. After covid they moved their restaurant to the Alamo Heights area making them way more accessible to everyone in the city. The restaurant itself is really nice with plenty of indoor seating and a couple outdoor tables. I love that their menu is simple with not too many options, which I think is a sign of a great restaurant. With that being said, I've only had their two chicken bowls since I don't eat seafood. The Dirty Bird consists of korean buffalo chicken, cabbage slaw, peppers and some spicy mayo. This bowl is absolutely delicious and can be very filling. If you are really into fried style chicken, this bowl is definitely for you. However, my #1 pick has to be the Kap's Chicken Curry. This bowl is made with roasted chicken, panang curry, potato, cilantro and other delicious spices. If you love curry, this is the bowl for you! The combination of the curry with the roasted chicken is what dreams are made of. Frankly, I could eat this every day of my life and would be the happiest person in the planet. Thank you Pinch Boil House for always bringing consistent delicious food to San Antonio!

Hidden nice little gem in a busy area. The service is amazing. The staff was very welcoming and brought us some menus since we had our kids. This is a family place so do expect that. I feel some people forget children are in this world and judge restaurants on this so I must note it. They have a baby changing station and high chairs. Took a picture of the kids menu for future visiting families. The food was phenomenal! I've ordered delivery and on-site, both amazing! I've had the business bowl and LOVED IT! Now this, wow! It's a must place to try! I will definitely come-by again and/order from them. Love this cute little spot!

Yummy! Smells so freaking good the moment you walk in. We were greeted when we walked in the door. The cashier was great. She explained the menu items. The food came out quick. Everything we had was delicious. I had a sandwich and some fries. My fiancé had potstickers and rolls. It was all great. We took our leftovers to go because it was entirely too much for us to finish. The only negative was the drinks. It was like $3 for a tiny drink. Otherwise I will definitely be back.

The pinch fries were amazing and I'll definitely be back to try a bowl or sandwich, unfortunately the boil wasn't good for me, crawfish were over cooked, the OG Garlic sauce was more watery than butter and the seasoning was pretty bland still in the hunt for a good boil !

Came in on New Years day, not crowded which is cool as the upbeat music makes the atmosphere very pleasant. The place is really clean and the tables are well spaced. I was greeted by someone who may not have wanted to work the holiday. (Sorry) She made the most of it and was professional and helpful and stayed super busy. I was very happy with her knowledge and suggestions on the vegetarian options. One note they only have coke zero and water on the fountain, no unsweetened tea. But if you would like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage this place has you covered. I lthink it's very smart that their selection doesn't compete with the pub next door. The menu is a variety of different Asian styles and fusion. There are some vegetarian options which I want to return to try. The portion size, spice level and temperature are all great. However I honestly am mixed about the garlic butter sauce. The sauce is more Asian than Cajun, in fact to my surprise there's not a lot of Cajun influence here. The garlic butter sauce is okay but they've added orange to the flavor and in my opinion that is lost in the strong garlic. I may try this again with another flavor and heat level as this is also a choice of several options. Overall not a bad meal for the price, I would however offer some suggestions overlooked, perhaps offer unsweetened tea, it is an option for those who don't drink soft drinks but also want more than water. I'd also add salt, pepper and hot sauce to the tables. The foods good but different people have different levels of taste. Definitely looking forward to coming back. P.s. the little wet naps under the bowls are a nice surprise as I am messy when it comes to this kind of eating

Really fantastic location to dine.  Adore the atmosphere, menu, and service. Pop in. Grab a menu. Order at the counter when ready. We tried the egg rolls and dumplings to start. The eggs rolls are packed the right way .. lots of meat and fillings... thick and served with Thai chili sauce. Then Prawn star with peanut slaw added (Yum!!). It had lots of shrimp and a fantastic spicy sirracha coating and a garlic butter mayo sauce. The Kap's chicken curry was spicy, herby, and amazing. The lemongrass and cilantro paired well with the deep, rich flavor of the curry sauce. I would have liked a little more rice in the bowl, but it was plenty to eat. The service was helpful, timely, and very nice! The atmosphere is eclectic with a very cool movie theme, Thai colors and modern layouts.

This is probably my 3rd time this month eating at this spot. Probably the best snow crab in San Antonio. They actually put some thought behind their spices and flavor combinations. This isn't one of those places where they throw butter and salty spices in a bag. Great prices, great atmosphere, great food. They also have some curry bowls which are bomb!

    Salad, crab + shrimp boil

Low-key ambience, service was very quick. The boil was not bad, but the garlic butter was overpowering and I couldn't taste a ton of freshness in the seafood. However the salad was incredible (peanut dressing, chicken).

    Garlic OG sauce
    Nikkie B.

I wasn't a fan of the food. The OG garlic butter sauce was oddly thick and it kept messing with my brain. The flavor was there but I just wasn't a fan. Nice to see they have happy hour and the customer service was great.

The crab rangoon dip and cornbread stood out the most among the appetizers. The dip was an absolute hit and is something I'd definitely recommend. The cornbread had a subtle sweetness that paired well with its flavor. I also liked how it had a waffle shape to it, very different. I was a bit skeptical about the honey walnut shrimp at first because it looked pretty simple, but it ended up being delicious. The Spam fried rice was also nice, the pineapple paired great in it.
