While the food is great and I've been here many times for a reason - I'm writing this review in regard to cleanliness. I showed up to pick up my order about ten minutes too early and had to stand in the entrance waiting. While doing so, I witnessed SEVERAL incidents of employees being careful and thoughtful about cleanliness. This isn't something I generally go out of my way to look for, but it was so evident that it was obvious and appreciated. Not discouraged we continued on only to find some delightful picnic tables with nice umbrellas which is a great spot to enjoy the delicious food here. We had the Poke Nachos which were fresh, well seasoned, and absolutely outstanding. We also had the Kalbi plate and this is one of the best versions I have ever had. This is the spot!!! After hearing nothing but great reviews about this place I finally came around to trying it and it's definitely going to be my new go-to. I got the poke nachos with the creamy and shoyu salmon. It comes with crab salad, edamame, tobiko, and sauce on top of wonton chips (add avocado!). It was so fresh and not fishy at all. Ever since the first time I tried this place in Dallas, I've made it a goal to have it every time I visit. It's really that good! It reminds me of Hawaii. The poke is so fresh and delicious. If you can only order one thing, you gotta try to garlic shrimp, it reminds me of the famous Giovanni's (iykyk). So flavorful, and every bite keeps you wanting more. I'm only rating a 4 because I have not been in this location and experienced the service but ordering from here has been seamless. I always order the poke bowl with salad and rice but decided to try the poke nachos with wasabi octopus and shoyu ahi and I'm so pleased. The wonton chips on delivery where still crispy and not soggy which is a plus but the flavors within the nachos just come together no matter what protein you get. (Still not a fan but it was really good tuna). Don't plan to sit inside- take it to go or sit at the benches on the side of the building. I like the concept from a business perspective because they are focused on the product and customer service not having to worry about clean up bussing tables etc. they focus on their food. Ever since moving to the DFW area a few months ago, we have been coming here every other week it seems. The poke plates and poke nachos are our favorites. The fish is fresh and marinades are flavorful. Honorable mention for the fried spam musubis. This place definitely lives up to the hype! Pine Isle is a take-out only establishment. It's a pretty small space, but I noticed a couple benches outside. We placed a pickup order, and it was an easy transaction with the employee. We got two large poke bowl. I got half rice and half salad with creamy spicy ahi, wasabi tako (octopus), and shoyu salmon. My boyfriend got just rice with creamy spicy salmon, wasabi tako, and shoyu ahi. The fish was very fresh and the flavors were on point! My friends and I agreed that it started getting a bit too salty, but adding more rice balanced it out. I personally wouldn't do all salad because it wouldn't absorb the sauce. Pine Isle lives up to the hype - the menu and quality of the poke feels like someone dug up a shop from Hawaii and plopped it down in east Dallas. I tried the spicy tuna and shoyu salmon, and both types of fish were fresh, well-seasoned with sauce but not overly so. They also have other Hawaiian classics such as kalbi (which is very popular as an entree in HI even though it's Korean), kalua pork, garlic shrimp, and spam musubi. The portions are pretty good for the price ($16 for regular plate/bowl and $18 for large). Note that even if they display a certain type of fish, it may be unavailable: they still had some spicy salmon left in the display case but I was informed I couldn't order any because it was being reserved for online orders, which was slightly disappointing. Orders also take a fairly long time to be completed. It's largely a to-go establishment with only 1 small table inside and 1 outside. They do have picnic tables outside to sit, but when its freezing cold outside, I would need to pick up to go. I got the spam masubi, pretty basic, not much to it. I got the plate of loco moco and that gravy is gold!! I really like the flavor of the beef paties it came with it. I normally opt out of the macaroni it comes with because it taste store bough and tastes yucky, but pine isle macaroni was actually really good. I got the two scoop half rice and half salad with shoyu ahi and creamy spicy salmon. Bowl was filled to the brim and the flavors complimented each other very well. This place is hands down the best Hawaiian poke restaurant in Dallas-- no competition. I've been struggling to find a good poke spot to replace Don Don Poke in Plano, and nothing ever came close... until now. It's a 45-minute drive, but my sister hyped it up so much that I finally agreed to go. She actually drove there twice last weekend, but it was sold out just an hour after opening on Saturday. One of the staff members told her it's best to order online since their inventory updates in real time. We placed our order online, and it went through! Just to be safe, we also called the store to double-check before heading out. It was a long drive, but 100000% worth it. I haven't been to Hawaii, but I can tell their poke is as authentic as it gets. At first, I was a little thrown off by the price, since most poke spots I go to are around $14. But once I saw the portions, it all made sense. They did not skimp on the fish, AT ALL. I actually had more fish than rice by the end, which never happens! The shoyu ahi tuna, shoyu salmon, and creamy salmon were all incredibly fresh and delicious. If you like spicy, definitely go for the creamy version. We also tried the kalbi and fried spam musubi; both were made fresh to order with generous portions. The space is small since it's designed for takeout, with just two tables inside and one outside. Luckily, nobody was dining in on this Wednesday night, so we grabbed a table and dug in right away. The place was buzzing with people coming in and out to pick up their orders. I overheard a worker say they only make what they can based on the day's fish delivery, which explains the exceptional freshness. The shop is small, they have two small tables inside and a small table outside, definitely made for more of a take out style poke joint. Poke: for bowls you can get salad, rice, or 1/2. The regular comes with two scoops of poke and the large comes with three scoops. The fish were all really nicely portioned and extremely flavorful. I liked that the cuts of salmon were thick and I even saw a few pieces of fatty looking belly in mine. Mac Salad: very creamy in a good kind of way! I was so excited to come hear since hearing about it! I was told the lines were long and food sold out quick when it first opened. I will say this restaurant is a lot smaller than I expected, there's only 2 small tables inside and 1 table outside, and most of the space is taken up by the kitchen. I shared the Kalua pork + cabbage plate + 1/2 pound of shoyu salmon with another person and it satisfied us. The food came out really quickly too! We both really enjoyed the food itself, the small side salad and mac salad were good additions to the meat and rice, and at the end we ended up just combining the poke with the leftover rice.
