Ask them to order two small hinges for my windshield on an older glastron boat. I brought them the windshield and picked out the parts.when I came to pick up the windshield they had installed the hinges on the windshield which I had not asked him to do they also installed them incorrectly worst installation job I've ever seen. Then they charged me $ 82.00 for a pair of hinges installed that cost less than $10. I will never do business with them again I recommend no one to do business with them they are horrible read more

Normally pine knot is amazing. This past time was not sadly! I made reservations and I felt since I look young they sat us in crappy seat by loud music. I couldn't even enjoy a chat with a friend, who I haven't seen in ages. We made the best of it! Then our waitress was nice but she did not look or ask how the bill was going to split. She charged my friend the entire purchase and I had put a lot of cash in it. The food is delicious but the seating where they placed us was terrible. :/ read more

My Family's Big Bear vacation, Day 6. Having already treated the kids to a water park, bowling, a parade and bluegrass festival, renting a pontoon boat and going fishing, I have run out of ways to keep them entertained. Except they still love playing with their Wii's and Playstations, but I just cannot take it anymore! So we venture over to Big Bear Parasail and Watersports, to check out how much an hour's worth of outdoor fun is going to empty out my wallet. At least I can charge it to a credit card, and not void my checking account out just yet. Upon arriving, am greeted by a lot attendant who requests $10 for the pleasure of parking my wife's minivan.This before I even get to inquire about the availability - or desirability - of renting their pleasure craft. Parasailing runs $ 75/person, or $125 for a tandem 10 minute flight a few hundred feet in the sky. With four kids in tow, I quickly calculate that at best it will cost me $250 for ten minutes of delight and/or terror, depending upon how each child experiences the miracle of flight. I look into renting Jet Skis - at least they are rented by the hour. A two seater jet ski runs $ 85/hr, a three man is $95hr., and a four man jet ski is $125 hour. I tell the 16 yo behind the counter that since I have four kids, the four seater is the preferred vehicle. She chomps on her gum and slaps down a clipboard, with about four pages of forms to sign alleviating them of all claims, and myself of any rights, should some mishap occur to my children or their pleasure craft. After signing my rights away, I am informed that there is, in addition to the fees stated in their brochure, a $25 fuel fee (what, an hour's ride is going to use $25 in fuel?) which I voice objection to but am suckered in at this point and don't have time or inclination to price shop the other marinas. She states that there is a $700 deposit required for a damage deposit, and when I give her my credit card, she announces there's a 5% fee for using my credit card, or $7.50. Which is illegal and against their merchant agreement, BYW, and I intend to squeak them out to Mastercard for being so slimy. Anyway, I sign, and then I'm told that someone over the age of 18 must be aboard the craft at all times, so either my wife or I have to accompany the kids, with one left off until it's "their turn." Oh isn't life grand. Not much else to say, except that if you go over your time allotment, they charge you another hour - even if it's five minutes. Before I began, I want to get the one good thing out of the way, The people in the White building by the entrance were great and the only reason that we gave this place a 1-star rating. I'm not sure of the ladies name but she took a message for the manager, a Mr. breshop I believe as she slurred her words a bit. We are still waiting for a response from him about our experience. We called for a few days trying to reserve a boat and were unsuccessful for 2 days! The gentlemen on the phone was unsure of or not caring about knowing the prices. "Umm Let me check." Seems to be a mantra at this place, and there will be more on that later. The actual process of reserving a boat is not that bad, but it seems like the employees are scared of being killed by the phones and wont answer them. We arrived at the place and quickly realized that maybe this place needs to hire more staff as there was trash in the parking spaces and no employees were visible until we reached the little shack that serves as the rental office after paying the $125 dollars for an hour, which we later found out that was a little amount of time since other marinas offer 2 hour rates and no 1 hours. The girl there was nice but lacked in knowing what was available but quickly got us out of the line and down to the boat. The walk there is pretty steep as the water level is so low, not something that they can control but it is worth mentioning to customers. The dock that served as a bridge to the rental dock was nice, but then it went to an unrepaired, damaged, and shoddily built wooden dock. This should have been a warning as once my party looked at the boats we realized that this place either doesn't have the money to buy new boats or the care to repair them. The boat we got had a side that was heavily damaged like something hit it and the railing on top was bent downwards. The gentleman did mark down the damage so we wouldn't be charged for it. The gas, speedometer, horn, and radio did not work. The dockhand told us about how "Those things were not important." When we asked to be transferred to a boat that had those things working the gentleman said "umm Let me check" before heading back to the rental office and returning to tell us that they didn't have any that worked but promised we wouldn't notice and how we are only renting the boat, not the radio and instruments on the pannel. For $125 dollars we should be renting everything that is built into the boat plus the boat, not just the badly damaged boat. We still went out but we didn't have the best time on this for what we paid for. Once we came back, we went to the restroom in the white building by the entrance since the nearest one was a portapotty that looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while. This is where the friendly staff took that message we mentioned earlier. We do not recommend coming to rent from this place currently. Maybe if they clean up their act we will return but it is not worth the money and effort. read more

As a last minute birthday present, my friend and I wanted to ride the New Zealand style jet boat. We were amazed at how friendly all of the staff was when we arrived. The seemed just as excited for us as we were! Although their policy is that there must be at least 5 people on board to take the boat out, I explained it was my birthday and I had to work the next day, so they allowed just the two of us to go. Wally the owner took us out on an amazing ride! We had so much fun I had perma-grin and was laughing the whole time. It was $29 per person to go but I found that it was worth the money. The staff took pictures for us and helped us in and out of the boat too. Had this company do a service in my boat and they lost the key and refused to give me an invoice. They refused to take responsibility for loosing the key. When I called to speak with a manager they were awful to deal with. Stay away from these guys touching your boat in any way shape or form. Really no complaints at all about this place, I only don't give it 5 stars cuz i have nothing else to compare it to as being "good as it gets". No reservation on Friday 10/2/15, but no worries, they had a pontoon for us. Cheaper than other options on the lake, and no 2 hour minimum that I read some others have, so we did an hour for $114 and had a great time. Our 5 year old got to be a captain and do some donuts so she really had a blast. A pontoon rental is an ultimate adventure that you can experience when you go to Big Bear in the summer. I didn't know what a pontoon was before this trip but it's a motorized little covered raft that goes pretty fast and it has cup holders. You get to go out on your own without an employee and play captain. Just be sure to listen to everything they say, or the lake guard will HONK their horn at you and stay away from the edges so you won't have to pay the deposit for a broken prop. The waters aren't very still because it's full of jet skiiers, parasailers, and other pontooners so the best way to not get seasick is to keep the boat at a low speed rather than turning it off completely. read more

On a busy Saturday morning I texted to ask for a jet ski reservation, within an hour I received a call, confirming that 2 jet skis were available later that afternoon. On checking they were busy but efficient. The jet skis were fast and SOOO fun! The experience brought great joy to my family, including our 2 teenagers! Definitely made my 2020! read more

Went for Labor Day weekend..... I neglected to book a boat ahead of time but we called Pine Knot in the morning and they told us everything was sold out. We figured we would go anyways and also created a plan b of activities around the lake. Got there and the people there seemed nice and courteous. We waited there for about 15 minutes and got lucky to get in on a no show reservation. Pro: Nice people when you get there. There is $10 parking per car right by the boat dock. Also a tackle shop to pick up any bait. Con: Phone service could be better with better idea of what would be available when. read more

Very disappointed with this company. We've rented from this company every year for about 10 years during our annual 4th of July trip...we rent during the day (not at night during the fireworks), just to get out on the water, have some fun, etc. This year, they came up with some scam to charge a 4 hour minimum for boat rentals...then they charged us $40 parking! You also can no longer speak with a human...you MUST communicate with them in text. For $550 bucks can I please speak with an actual person? We then get a total piece of garbage boat, crazy bad prop, torn seats, dirty, dented, smashed, door/gate doesn't stay closed when you're boating, etc. I get that it's a holiday weekend etc. but these folks are being too greedy. Perhaps give your business to someone else in Big Bear...these folks have lost mine... read more

Nice staff, quick turn around, clean, spacious and very comforable pontoon - huge range of sizes of lifejackets for children (we had a 9month old, a 2year old, 3yr old and 5yr old). $141 for an hour seems a bit expensive to me, but I didn't shop around so can't compare - the pontoon was really easy to use and all staff friendly and helpful. Rented 3 jet skis; 2 for $125 per hour each, 1 (performance) for $175 per hour. Pretty disappointed with the service provided here. The workers were rude and outspoken. They were unable to handle the stress of the amount of people that were trying to rent on a Saturday. One ended up not working and had to return back after only 10 minutes. Since one wasn't working we had to constantly switch with the other two which ate into our time to ride. When parking the jet ski one did hit the dock. Keep in mind we aren't professionals at this! They blamed us for the damage and charged us for the repair. Had a great time with the family on the water but the hassle and poor customer service is what killed the experience. read more

Rented a jet ski today for $125, firstly they were so battered and old. They looked terrible. Secondly, whatever they spray painted it with stuck to us and our clothes and turned them blue. Lastly and most importantly, our jet ski broke down within 10 minutes of leaving. We were stuck out on the lake for almost an hour until we were rescued by a boat patrol. My 7 year old daughter was terrified. When I got back and both I and the boat patrolman told them the situation, they didn't even apologize, they told me that they have a no refund policy. I could understand that if I had changed my mind, but I literally could not use the jet ski because it was broken. Then they offered me a voucher to come and use the boat at another time. I was on vacation and I was leaving that day, I said no thank you, I would like a refund and they refused. They wanted me to wait for a manager to drive over and I did not have time to do that. So I had to leave. I will be calling them tomorrow but their customer service is next level appalling I don't even know how they keep in business. read more

By far the worst marina in Big Bear. I pulled into their marina because my boat was quickly taking on water, and I couldn't make it anywhere else. I docked next to their launch ramp while my friends were bucketing water from my wake-boarding boat. I ran into the office and told of the emergency and asked if my wife could backup our trailer so I could get the boat out of the water. The guys said NO. I ran to their main office located in the parking lot of IHOP, and politely made the same urgent request. Again I was told no. The woman said it was a private launch ramp. I pleaded that it was a mariners emergency... she refused. Boat people are the kindest of world, but these people and this marina is the worst. Oh ya... my family had rented and stored our boat at Pine Knot for over 30 years until several years ago. No one should support this place in any way. There are many other marinas in Big Bear that appreciate safety concerns and good will on the water. read more

I went here on tuesday. 6/21/2011... My husband and i decided to go parasailing and jet skiing... but i think they call it the wave runner. Anywho. The Lady that worked there was nice. All the workers were nice and helpful. I thought the jetski's were a bit pricy when i compared it to the other marinas. but that's because this place doesn't have a jetski for a single person. they start off with 2 person ride. We went for 30 mins and had a blast. It was my husbands first time and he enjoyed it. Our parasailing was next. I'm a bit scared of heights, but a had a great time. We went up 7000 feet. The guy said that we went straight up which is not so safe, but it was because there were 4 different winds blowing in different direction... well... that's what the driver of the boat said i think... i'm not quoting him on that. The view was beautiful. I recommend the parasailing hands down.... It was my first time, and i had a blast. It's a little scary, but it's safe. If I come back up to big bear in the summer, this is something I would go back doing. read more

We have now been owners at the dock club for over 10 years now. The new owners have done an incredible job at swindling their patrons at every turn. A few years ago they took all the docks out from behind the breakwall due to low water level. Since then, the lake level has been more than adequate to return them to behind the wall however no changes have been made. Instead, you can now find them running their rental dock in the middle of the protected marina as opposed to protecting the boats that it was built to protect. We used to be provided with running water and electricity on the docks and this is no longer provided. The locking gates that used to protect our boat from strangers is now replaced by a pathetic chain link one that has zero lock and is able to be walked around on the sides. This has already resulted in our boat being broken into and you will now find random people fishing from the owners docks. Furthermore, parking is being sold to the public which forces owners to park further away from their boats which are at the furthest end of the Marina. Porta- potties have replaced the fully functional facilities that are no longer operational. All in all, these new owners are completely neglecting to provide the people who pay the most and use their facilities the most with the very perks that encouraged us to join in the first place. Holloway's and big bear marina are looking like PREMIERE dock clubs after the terrible way that the owners of the marina are treating slip owners and renters. Changes must be made. read more

While I was waiting for my boat my kids were exploring on the rocks. They literally all got stuck in the mud like a scene from the three stooges. Dan came with a rope, men also came to help to get them out of the mud. I realized when I got all the way back to long beach that I left the book I was reading. As an owner of a boat slip in this marina, I can say this was one of the best investments I've made. The marina is very well maintained and managed very well. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Not only was the awesome location a big selling point and owning the slip, but also how well the marina managed. I toured and check out other marinas on the lake and this was also my 1st choice for the following reasons: 1. Right across from the Village (huge plus!) Boat servicing center, fueling station, tackle shop, Chad's Place bar & grill on site and all the benefits that come with being a Dock Club member. (Slip owner). 24/7 access to your boat, too. Surprised my Husband w/ a boat rental today for his Birthday. I made the reservation over the phone 2 months prior to today as I found them online. The check-in line was long. But that was expected as I'm sure every business company in Big Bear is super busy on the weekends. The pontoon was clean, in good condition and the guys who work there are very good at explaining everything and answer all your questions. The lake is amazing!
