We sat on the enclosed patio for dinner. It was our first visit. I had the shrimp and scallop scampi as my entree and gezpacho soup as a starter from their specials menu. We both enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, and our dinners. There were many items on the menu that we would like to come back to sample including some of their drink selections. I almost forgot about their numerous dessert choices. I had the cannoli and a coffee. We didn't have to wait to be seated luckily, but next time we'll make a reservation. read more

We dropped in early for a Maine Restaurant Week dinner. Service was excellent, prompt and personable. The city water was overclorinated, so we sprung for bottled water - really a must in Scarborough. The entire meal was notably excellent. With the single exception of one merely "good" creme brule, everything else showed a true chef's touch. Flavors were adventurous and always well balanced. The Pizette with figs, gorgonzola, arugula and a drizzle of reduced balsamic was excellent. The brussels sprouts with truffle aioli and parmesan were flavorful, blackened just right, and cooked to perfection. We both ordered the fillet steak. Both the rare and medium rare were delivered absolutely perfectly cooked, with a lovely grill flavor on the outside and melt in the mouth tenderness. The outside of the steaks was quite heavily salted, though. The sides were simply and very well executed as expected. The creme brule was merely good - the crust was a bit thik and a bit over-cooked, and the creme was also just a hair overdone. Serviceable, but could be better. The flourless chocolate torte was particularly good of the type - dense but not ridiculously so, and with a light layer of slightly peanut flavored ganache atop that cut the intensity of the chocolate nicely. The attention paid to getting the dishes RIGHT showed. We are not often in that area, but we'll be back if we can get in. I'm sure the place is mobbed in summer! read more

Made reservations for a Friday night and it was easy on the website. The waitress was very friendly and made great suggestions. We ended up getting multiple courses and it's so rare that the server knows how to time courses,, which was a nice change. Also, the alcoholic drinks were really, really good! The only thing I would say could be improved is the beet salad was more salad than beet. It was really lacking in beets, but the flavor was still really nice. It's a very cute place with some fires in the patio area to keep the place warm. I really enjoyed the visit and will return. PPG is a great spot. The service is always great, the owners could not be more friendly....you can tell they really care as they are always working the crowd and making sure everyone is happy. Menu has gone through some changes for the better, with an Italian, seafood twist. They were known for their pizza also, but I have to say they made a change in the dough and it's just ok now. After searching around the area we arrived at pine point grill. I called on a Saturday night around 6:50 they had a open table at 7:30. We started out with a cup of clam chowder. This had big chunks of clam and whole shrimp in it. You could tell it was fresh chowder and made with love. They also brought a bread basket out. We then ordered the Sausage fennel Pizza. I got to say it was great. Cooked to perfection and the toppings made it even better. I ordered the land and sea. The scallops tasted great and were good size same with the shrimp. The steak was pretty good it was cooked as ordered. She ordered an pasta dish with lobster and clams. She loved it. I had a small bit and agreed it was delicious. Drinks martini was good, old fashioned had a splash to many bitters for my tastes, she had a few different drink she like them. Service was wonderful, I think you will have a very hard time finding a better place to eat and drink in the area. I highly recommend. read more

Do not know how I missed this gem! It is literally within a few miles from my house. I first went when I was trying new take out during Covid and now it has become my go to place for Bolognese Papparadelle. The warm, inviting flavors, that dance around in your mouth, so reminiscent of a slow dance by the fireplace in winter. With house made pasta and a beautiful creamy ricotta to finish it. What a wonderful place! The market down the street from our hotel, Shelia's-which is awesome too, for sandwiches, recommended Pine Point Grille. We made a reservation on a Monday night but got the feeing we didn't really need it. The atmosphere is sophisticated without being stuffy. The service was perfect. The menu! This was no touristy lobster/beach food place. From tatertots to Brussels sprouts for apps, burger, fish tacos, inventive (amazing looking) pizzas to foodie entrees like duck, there was something for everyone. The only trouble? Trying to decide what to have!! Nice wine list and a full bar too. We didn't have dessert but should have! So when you had your fill of fried food and lobster rolls, give this place a try! The first overnight stop on our epic road trip to Nova Scotia was in Scarborough, Maine. I had never been to Scarborough before and I wasn't sure what to expect. There wasn't much to speak of as far as the town went, but thanks to a quick Yelp search, we found a hidden gem of a restaurant - Pine Point Grille. When we arrived at the Pine Point Grille it was early evening and the place was packed. The patio looked very inviting and we spied a couple leaving, so we asked if we could wait for a table outside. It was only a 10 minute wait for a table, so we saddled up to the bar and I ordered a very refreshing local IPA. The staff at the bar were friendly and we struck up a conversation with a couple at the bar. The atmosphere inside was jumping and it was a bit loud from lively conversations. Our table outside was really nice - big comfy chairs fairly secluded from the others. We liked that the patio was about a foot lower than the parking lot, which made it seem more private. There was a warm breeze and the sun was setting, perfect setting for a delicious meal. We don't often eat a lot when we are on the road, because let's face it, you don't need the extra calories when you're just sitting in the car for hours. The menu looked interesting, but we were digging the wood fired pizza and a salad. We were in the mood for something simple, so we skipped the interesting selection of featured pizzas and built our own pepperoni pizza. The pizza was perfect - a slightly charred wood fired crust, a savoury and zesty tomato sauce, fresh pepperoni and yummy, melty mozzarella cheese. It was definitely enough pizza for two, and I was hungry enough to eat more than my fair share! The caesar salad was a perfect compliment to the authentic pizza - homemade creamy and garlicky dressing, crisp romaine lettuce, freshly grated parmesan, smoky bacon and crunchy, savoury croutons. Probably one of the best caesars we have had in a while. The waitress was super cold and abrupt with us when we first sat down, but became super friendly at the end of our dinner, which we found a bit strange. Regardless, our experience was great and I recommend this great little spot if you find yourself in Scarborough any time soon. read more

Overall 4.5/5 Fantastic job done with the renovations -- First & Last had a great location in Pine Point and the new restaurateur struck a nice balance to elevate the scene while maintaining the neighborhood feel. The new custom bar is beautiful with a beach-y light hue and a slick finish. I'm a sucker for a comfy bar stool and PPG's are in essence tall, cushioned armchairs - worthy of an evening at the bar. The food is unique to Pine Point; you will find the seafood staples to be present but creatively prepared and complimented by a pizza, pasta, and meat menu that reflects both quality and comfort. Though we experienced a flawless night of service, I do anticipate some rocky experiences as this new restaurant finds its legs. However, if the soft opening was any indication, be ready to have a new favorite bar stool in Pine Point. Hands down the best seafood dinner we have both had besides when we are in Aruba. I had the baked stuffed haddock and it was stuffed w huge Maine lobstah claws. So delish. Hubby had baked scallops that were so good (and I don't like scallops) we started out w crab spring rolls that were so fresh and tasty. We sat outside and enjoyed the music playing in background and some nice flickering candles for a touch of romance. Our waitress was very friendly and made her recommendations for a bottle of wine and also helped me decide between two dinner options. She knew her stuff and I love it when waitstaff actually know the menu and have had the items on the menu! We will be going back there again when we visit OOB. This is a place worth driving to. We had the Roasted Garlic Ricotta, Onion, and homemade Fennel Sausage pizza and it was one of the best I've ever had. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the homemade zucchini bread which was the chef's kiss on this extraordinary experience. Ok, the food was fine..except for the raw dough cubes (uncooked focaccia) they served initially. The problem was with jamming too many people into a small space with tables so tight that waitresses couldn't fit in between without kicking your chair and table repeatedly. It got to be ridiculous. My chair was kicked 10 times (no exaggeration), my elbow whacked while I was trying to eat, the table was kicked and tripped over-spilling our drinks into our food plates more than once. It was the least enjoyable meal we've had all summer. We brought it to the attention of the owner but she offered no help or consideration, just that she was maximizing space and profit during the tourist season. We won't be back so I hope it all evens out for her. btw - $60+ for a salad and burger. We didn't even try the $28 ramen. Oh, and there was NO parking- little lot was totally full. So we had to park at a public tennis court (with NO PARKING signs) across the street and walk across a dangerously fast road at a blind curve, twice. read more

We are camping within walking distance of Pine Point Grill. What a great find! Our dinner on Wednesday night was so good we went back Thursday evening. They are fully open now with both inside & outside seating. Service was excellent. The staff was friendly & informative. Everything we tried over the 2 nights was good, with some being outstanding. Try the crab Parmesan dip as well as the garlic mussels. The seafood chowder was stuffed with seafood (not potatoes). The oysters were from a local river & appeared to have been freshly shucked. I also had the mixed grill of haddock, scallops & shrimp with a great cream sauce. Nice wine list as well with some interesting & inexpensive selections. 1st night we had a Portuegese vhino verde. Last night we went with a Spanish white wine. Oh, and the dirty martinis come with blue cheese stuffed olives! We will be back next time we are in Maine read more

After being in Old Orchard Beach for 4 days we have eaten out 8 times. From dive bars to so-called 4 star restaurants and this was by far the best meal with the best atmosphere that we have experienced. Three of us ordered different meals, the lobster cappolini the seared haddock,shrimp and scallops and the land and sea We shared a creme brûlée's with a shot of kahlua poured on top(the shot was recommended by a diner, but I'm sure it should be a regular part of this amazing dish). The steak and seafood were perfectly prepared and our server Micala( sorry for the spelling) and our hostess were engaging and very personable. We all agreed that if this had been the first place that we ate at it may have been the only place! The price point is spot on for the quality and serving size. I absolutely loved this place the first time I went. Since then I go about once per Month and still love it- but I just wish they had vegetarian meals on their menu! When they first opened they had mushroom risotto which was amazing but I have rarely seen a vegetarian meal on the menu since and instead have to order pizza or a salad (still delicious). They have risotto as a part of other meals but also note on the menu that you cannot customize/substitute meals so I don't order it. Please add more vegetarian meals read more
