Bolognese, a little flat. I would not order this again.

A true locals spot that feels so comfortable when you walk in and dine. The service was outstanding, very accommodating, and the food came out quickly. The food was really good, but not great, and it was very affordable. It is a very quaint/ feel-good restaurant.

I've been to the Pine point Grill five times in the last year and a half. Service has always been top shelf, food very delicious, and the place is always filled with people enjoying their meals. Tonight I had the Caesar salad, which was fresh and crisp with Parmesan shavings on top, and of course I had the anchovies on top. Emma was my server, and she was amazing

Cute restaurant in Scarborough with fresh seafood dishes and great pizza. I got the shrimp and scallop scampi and it was very good. My friend got the catch of the day which was the halibut and that was also tasty. The service was great and friendly. It is a smaller restaurant with a small bar and some covered outside seating. Make sure to make a reservation cause it gets busy. They also have a large wine list and a cocktail menu. On the fancier side and a little pricey but worth it!

Stopped in last night on a recommendation from a local, so glad we did...and really glad we made reservations too, don't think we would have been seated without them, but with them we walked right in. We were looking for oysters, and these were amazing, sooooo good. We also tried the seafood chowder, which is chock full of scallops, shrimp, and haddock and, in my view, is comfort food at its best. To round out dinner, my friend and I split the shrimp & pesto pizza. This is really good! The crust on this pizza is thin and crunchy, and exactly as I like it. For dessert, we ate the banana creme Brule. I am normally not a big fan of banana desserts, but the banana flavor was so light, it almost wasn't there and the crust had been torched to perfection; it was very good as well, a lovely way to top off dinner.

Stopped in for dinner to wait out traffic on our drive back to Northern Maine. When we walked in we were asked about reservations, while we didn't have any we were fit in at a high top around the bar. I guess you're supposed to have reservations so you might want to check that before showing up. We ordered the flat bread pizza, daily fish special of halibut, mini shrimp, lobster sauce, veggies and finger potatoes...and the linguine and meatballs. The meatballs were okay but I was left jealous of the daily special. They enjoyed the special and it did look tasty. The flat bread was good and very enjoyable. The craft bear menu was pretty good, there was a large wine selection and they had a list of house cocktails and martinis. Nothing grabbed my attention but there may be something for you. Lastly, out server was nice and very helpful when choosing items or asking questions.

Highly recommended: salt cod, foie gras truffles, pasta with guanciale. I had a smash burger (special) which was a bit too much -- needed one fewer item from the rich salty umami family of flavors, every bite good on its own but a LOT as a dish. Service was wonderful; my friend mentioned that she loved chocolate mousse but was too full for dessert, and our server brought us a to go portion as a bonus with the check. And it was awesome (topped with hazelnuts, sea salt, and a drizzle of olive oil, very good idea well executed).

**November 2025: Thanksgiving Dinner**…read more I made a reservation through Resy about a week before Thanksgiving and was able to successfully secure bar seating for two. We got a text reminder as well as phone call reminder leading up to our reservation. On the day of our reservation we were greeted with a warm smiled and directed to our seats. Since we visited on Thanksgiving Day it was a prix fix menu which included the following: -Bread and Turkey Jam -Winter Squash Soup -Chicory & Arugula Salad -Roasted Turkey Breast -Braised Short Ribs -Ilma's Maple Bourbon Pie -Pumpkin Budin This menu was specifically made for Thanksgiving so I imagine guests who have to wait until the next Thanksgiving to enjoy the fare. What I can say is that the soup was my favorite and the turkey breast was not in the slightest dry. The short ribs were my friends favorite and we both loved the pumpkin budin. Service was polite and efficient and te music was upbeat and lively, despite the restaurant emiting a dark romantic vibe. I'm really thankful that they had reservations available and that the food was delicious since many restaurants in the area were already booked out. Thank you Wayside Tavern for a delicious meal!

The fries which came on the side of the burgers and sandwiches were also excellent. The restaurant has a nice outdoor space but the weather was a little rainy the day we went so we didn't sit outside. I do suggest they add more barriers and greenery/plants to separate the beautiful outdoor seating space from the parking lot across the way.

Finally we had the chocolate lava cake which was just okay, but that's fine because we were so full from the rest of our meal! When we were seated at our table, there was a basket of fresh bread and pastries. Muffins, focaccia bread, apple pastry and rolls, along with a berry butter. The menu included breakfast and lunch items. Although it was early I decided to go for a lunch entree. For my starter I ordered the roasted carrots. They were crisp with a slight char topped with shaved fennel and dill. The two sauces that accompanied them were delicious. The cashew creme was my fav. The entree I chose was the rack of lamb. Black garlic risotto, carrots and roasted peppers were the sides. The jus was rich and had a deep flavor. Very good choice. Dessert was a choice of carrot cake, vegan chocolate mousse or a berry tart. I took the carrot cake home and had it later. It was probably the best carrot cake Ive ever had! We also had wine with our meal. Overall a solid mothers day brunch. The price was $84 per person not including any drinks.

Cons- Their website lies and says they make their pasta fresh, in house, daily (see attached pic). The waitress just about laughed in my face when I tried confirming this claim. Charging $35-40 a plate for boxed pasta is criminal! That does not include any complimentary bread and butter or a side salad-nothing! $18 for kids meals, like basic spaghetti and meatball! The stuffed bread had one layer of pepperoni and cheese rolled up in it. It wasn't exactly "stuffed". My Chicken and Broccoli Romano was swimming in soup. They didn't reduce the broth mixture into a sauce at all. I've had better dishes at Applebee's, if I'm being honest. And if you want any Parmesan to top off your dish, you are getting cheese from a shaker. They do not have freshly grated. Even Olive Garden offers that! Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere. You can get much higher quality food for this price (or less) at other local restaurants.
