Ok, the food was fine..except for the raw dough cubes (uncooked focaccia) they served initially. The problem was with jamming too many people into a small space with tables so tight that waitresses couldn't fit in between without kicking your chair and table repeatedly. It got to be ridiculous. My chair was kicked 10 times (no exaggeration), my elbow whacked while I was trying to eat, the table was kicked and tripped over-spilling our drinks into our food plates more than once. It was the least enjoyable meal we've had all summer. We brought it to the attention of the owner but she offered no help or consideration, just that she was maximizing space and profit during the tourist season. We won't be back so I hope it all evens out for her. btw - $60+ for a salad and burger. We didn't even try the $28 ramen. Oh, and there was NO parking- little lot was totally full. So we had to park at a public tennis court (with NO PARKING signs) across the street and walk across a dangerously fast road at a blind curve, twice. read more

We are camping within walking distance of Pine Point Grill. What a great find! Our dinner on Wednesday night was so good we went back Thursday evening. They are fully open now with both inside & outside seating. Service was excellent. The staff was friendly & informative. Everything we tried over the 2 nights was good, with some being outstanding. Try the crab Parmesan dip as well as the garlic mussels. The seafood chowder was stuffed with seafood (not potatoes). The oysters were from a local river & appeared to have been freshly shucked. I also had the mixed grill of haddock, scallops & shrimp with a great cream sauce. Nice wine list as well with some interesting & inexpensive selections. 1st night we had a Portuegese vhino verde. Last night we went with a Spanish white wine. Oh, and the dirty martinis come with blue cheese stuffed olives! We will be back next time we are in Maine read more

After being in Old Orchard Beach for 4 days we have eaten out 8 times. From dive bars to so-called 4 star restaurants and this was by far the best meal with the best atmosphere that we have experienced. Three of us ordered different meals, the lobster cappolini the seared haddock,shrimp and scallops and the land and sea We shared a creme brûlée's with a shot of kahlua poured on top(the shot was recommended by a diner, but I'm sure it should be a regular part of this amazing dish). The steak and seafood were perfectly prepared and our server Micala( sorry for the spelling) and our hostess were engaging and very personable. We all agreed that if this had been the first place that we ate at it may have been the only place! The price point is spot on for the quality and serving size. I don't review restaurants vey often but I really felt like this place earned all five stars. read more

First time here. A small spot on Pine Point Road that I've passed by for years. This was a really nice spur of the moment stop. We got the only two seats at the bar on an otherwise packed house. The menu is a bit limited, with a lean towards gourmet pizza choices. We started with the roasted Brussel sprouts. They were some of the best I've ever had, and I've eaten them at most of the best Portland restaurants. Perfectly roasted, nice and soft interiors, with a bit of Parmesan cheese sprinkle. Simple delicious. I had the grilled hake tacos. I very amply portioned soft taco with slaw and a mildly spiced aioli. It was very good. My GF had a fig, ricotta, honey, and prosciutto pizza. It was delicious. The figs were dehydrated, and rehydrated with balsamic vinegar. It was very good. I saw the wine pours, which always get my attention at the bar. Solid over pours...very generous. All in all, a very nice quaint spot. A bit limited on the menu, but everything was solid. 4 stars and I'm back again this summer. read more

Stopped at The Pine Point Grille for a drink on Thanksgiving after spending the afternoon walking from Pine Point to OOB on the beach. Didn't have a chance to try the food yet wanted to post a review based upon the hospitality of the owner and the intimate appeal of the venue. From what I could gather looking around at the various dishes on the plates of the many customers the food looks really appetizing. I plan on coming back next time I'm in Maine for dinner. Love the fact that The Pine Point Grille is a farm to table restaurant, which is something I truly appreciate and always factors into the choices I make when selecting somewhere new to dine. We've been coming here for over twenty years and we had one of our best meals ever at this place tonight. You will still want to get your clams and lobsters. But when you want to step it up a notch this is the place to go. Our chili maple chicken wings were incredible. Crispy and just hot enough. The seafood chowder is the best I've had. We then split a white clam, garlic and cheese pizza that was to die for. Everything else sounded great. My sister had a salad with fresh strawberries, candied walnuts, and grilled chicken. She asked if they could sub arugula for some of the spinach and add a little tomato. Our waitress said no problem without batting an eye. Which brings me to the best part. Our waitress Sofie. She was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. She was far and away the best waitperson we had on our vacation. read more

The French onion soup is 11/10..literally my favorite. The pizzas are really good too. The ingredients are fresh and everything is homemade. They constantly have new specials which I really like so that we can always try something different. Over the years we have had some of our favorite meals from this little restaurant. This was our first visit to PPG. We are locals (living only a two-minute drive from the restaurant) and were very much looking forward to PPG opening, after First & Last Tavern closing (PPG is in the same building). There are not many dining options along Pine Point Road; certainly even fewer that serve breakfast. Oh, and what a breakfast. I ordered a cheese omelet with a side of hash. The hash alone is a reason to come - sweet pulled pork with potatoes, carrots, and onions; cooked (presumably) on a flat-top, given the crust that was seared onto the hash. Just phenomenal. My wife had the cinnamon Texas French toast, and it was the best either of us had ever had. Two massive slabs of bread with a crispy, sugary crust. Next time, the lemon ricotta-stuffed French toast will be the choice. The bacon was smoky and peppery - good stuff. Our server was friendly & attentive. The food took around 15 minutes; seemingly a long time given there were only three occupied tables, but they had just opened and, frankly, I WOULD HAVE WAITED LONGER FOR FOOD OF THIS QUALITY. I never mind a wait when the payoff is worth it. We are definitely going back for dinner, as the bar (looks like it sat around 12 people or so) looked inviting and the selection of local beers was decent. PPG seems like more of a wine and/or cocktail place, for sure; which was also sorely needed in this area. read more

Really, really average and overpriced. We ordered two salads with chicken (a Caesar and mixed) and they were around $15 dollars each which was way too much considering the portion size. It looked like a side salad and not a main course salad when it came. The chicken was bland and they served it on a separate side plate. They obviously cut it too soon as all the juices ran out onto the plate. Why wasn't it served on top of the salad? They also up charged us 0.85 cents to add tomatoes to the salads which was extremely tacky for what we paid. At least let us know about the up charge when we order and use some real tomatoes instead of tasteless cherry tomatoes. The bread had nice flavor but were really greasy. The problem is that they use this bead for their bruschetta which does not work. Bruschetta needs to be crunchy not soggy and flimsy. The service also was not very streamlined or coordinated. Really unorganized. A bunch of people standing around looking confused. The division of labor does not look very well thought out either. The table next to us had food that was run to them that actually belonged on the other side of the room at another table. When the correct plates were finally dropped the waitress tired to tell the lady that the fish in her taco was haddock and not salmon. Hello...salmon is pink and haddock is white. It was clearly salmon. When finally asked how our meal was we responded "just okay". Most waitresses (ours was Jenn C.) would have seen this as a red flag to inquire a little deeper into the problem or at least send a manager over. That didn't happen. Definitely a sign of poor training. We are by no means high maintainence but this was our third disappointing meal here. We will never go back. Need to improve your game folks. Big time. read more

Pine Point Grille is a cute and quaint restaurant with wonderful, imaginative, and fresh food! Their menu is seasonal so you KNOW that they're only using the freshest, finest, and LOCAL ingredients--which is a wonderful change from chains that "cook" food by microwave. We ordered the fried brussel sprouts for an appetizer and it was AMAZING! I was actually surprised at how such a seemingly simple dish had such complex flavor. I love brussel sprouts and didn't really expect to be wow-ed, but the brussel sprouts were crispy on the outside/edges and soft/well cooked in the bulb. The dressing used was tangy, salty, and coated my tongue. The parmesan cheese that garnished the top provided a luxurious, gooey, melted miasma of flavors. Highly recommended! I ordered the skirt steak and it was cooked to perfection at medium rare. Skirt steak to my knowledge, is a tougher cut of beef, but it was so tender and so flavorful that it melted in my mouth. Topped with ramp butter, it was so delicate and very delicious. The potato gratin that accompanied it was buttery, cheesy, fatty, and everything I desire in a potato gratin. I recommend this dish as well. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp risotto. I've had risotto from a $600 tasting menu and I much prefer PPG's version--it was fresh, sweet, salty, rich, but not overpowering (like most risottos are). Abundant with shrimps, the risotto just melts in your mouth. A small detail and secret star of the dish was the pickled tomatoes that garnished the top. I've never had anything like it, but it was easily something that pops out at you flavor wise. For dessert, we ordered the ice cream sandwich--two homemade chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream in between. Very large portion, easy to even share with four people (it was cut into quarters). Our server was very attentive and we never lacked for refills on our drinks. He checked on us enough that he wasn't obtrusive or interrupting our conversation. The restaurant might be a bit noisy if you're looking for a first couple of dates/get to know each other spot, but it's great for friends and family! Great place and highly enjoyed! read more

We loved the PPG! The menu is varied and everything was fresh. Quite a treat after going to a fried fish joint the night before. We tried the pizza with housemade Italian sausage. The chicken parm was a stuffed, fried breast on a big bowl of pasta. Usually we never have extra pasta, but we took some home. My burger was delish... The fries were tasty but I hate it when you get the little odds and ends fries. It always seems like they were running out... Overall, a really pleasant dinner... read more

Great dinner at Pine Point Grille this week - scallops, fiddleheads, and polenta (sheer bliss)... chicken, potatoes, and asparagus + an amazing Brussels sprouts appetizer. We could definitely eat like this any night of the week. Wines were tasty and reasonably priced by the bottle - we tried a nice one, "3 Ball", by Christian Tietje (widely known as the "Zinbitch" for his high end Zinfandel portfolio in Cypher Winery). The full bar and a GIANT cocktail before dinner hit the spot after a long day at the office. Last, but not least, the desserts nearly took us over the edge, but a takeout box saved us from utter ruin. Excellent service; Charlene was super-friendly and welcoming. This was our first time here and since we have recommended this place to so many people based on the reviews we had received we thought we should check it out. We are so glad we did! The food was excellent! We started with the beet salad which was delicious! I had the scallops with squash risotto! Fabulous, I must say. My husband had the pork which he enjoyed tremendously. Charlene our waitstaff could not have been more delightful and attentive. Sean the bartender makes awesome martini's and was equally attentive and so nice! I had the lemon drop ginger martini which was on special that night. Yum! The atmosphere is delightful as well! Beautiful gardens although it was too cool to sit out. We will so be back! We returned to the Pine Point Grill on our annual Labor Day retreat to this area. We were a bit disappointed by the overlooked duck (medium well) the chicken nuggets for my son that could have come from a freezer bag and the fries that had too much pepper especially for my 5 year old. Like many restaurants they ask you to keep your knife and fork from the salad course to the main course and they don't give you any place to keep them when they take away the plates including the bread plate - we had to put them on the bare table. We will give them another chance and hope for something better. For the price this was a disappointment this time. read more

Local with strong critical evaluation, and urgent needs to find the "BEST FOOD IN THE AREA!" After several visits to the Pine Point area I can say that the dining experience with the majority of items on the menu at The Pine Point Grill has something to offer everyone. THE SEAFOOD IS FRESH and the Pizza is an old world tradition style with all the toppings and sauces available to create a fantasy pie! If you venture for the lighter fare, I found the new apps to be very tasty and price appropriately for the plate. The new bar / lounge areas creates a space where you can relax in an atmosphere with groups watching the ballgame or retreat for date night. The outdoor patio area with tiki torches and obiance recently opened a short time ago, gives an alternative for bar refreshments and taps. (Not sure why.. but the bugs come early so beware) I hope the new owners continue to express there passion in bringing good things to the menu... i can't wait for the revise next month. read more

We were disappointed when First and Last closed. We have resisted going to the Pine Point Grill (PPG) because we thought we would be disappointed. Oh, how wrong we were. First, the PPG has done a really nice job inside and outside with the decor and layout. The bar area is inviting, friendly and comfortable. Yes, a bar area that is comfortable. Enjoy outside if you want to be outside on these outstanding days. The menu has a great mix of quality food. The fish tacos are amazing with very fresh fish and nice presentation. The pizza is still of First and Last quality. The specials are ... special. The bread brought to the table was a unique sweet, garlic, crunchy soft. I have never had a bread like that and it was outstanding. We went early Sunday evening. The owner sat down with us and chatted. Very nice lady with a good sense of humor. She seems like a good mix of serious hospitality and focused business person. I think she will do well. Last, if you are looking for a friendly place (based on owner, wait staff, other customers), good food, and a good selection of affordable entrees, then the Pine Point Grill is worth a visit. The locals know that during the July and August all the good places get very busy. Expect that at the PPG and note... tables are for four. We only hope that the Pine Point Grill stays open all year round so we can visit there often. It will be a great evening hang out or place for a special weekend meal. This place was so good. Me and my girlfriend got the shrimp tacos and tater tots to start and they were both to die for then we got the ribeye and split it and it was delightful. Excellent restaurant! We ate outside on their patio, which was nicely decorated. Our waitress we had was very attentive and friendly. I had the rum punch on the suggestion of our waitress and my husband had the house Cabernet, we enjoyed them thoroughly. My husband had the caprese salad for an appetizer and had the house burger with cheese, onions and bacon. The only downside to the burger was it was a bit greasy but even still, he was quite pleased with everything. I had the chicken parmesan which was soo good! I usually find that most restaurants have a lackluster chicken parm, but the Pine Point definitely did not disappoint. The breading was good and instead of placing the mozzarella on the top, they had it in the inside. I liked their version of the dish, as I felt it helped to keep the chicken moist. The only disappointing thing of our time at the Pine Point Grill is that we were too full to enjoy some delicious dessert! read more
