This place is a gem in the corner of Waltham Ma, took my car down to see what was going on with it and Raymond took his time went over the whole car and explained to me what needed to be done. Explained to Ray that I could only do what was urgent at the time and fixed it and over time got my whole car done under his supervision. Ray explained everything to me in details and really made me feel like I wasn't being taken for a ride, he is a genuine person with a good heart for the safety of all. Ray is very lucky my wife and I can't be bothered to take him to court. Charged for parts that were never replaced, including a $275 oxygen sensor. Brought our car to a more ethical repair shop and were told that both sensors were the originals and never replaced. The better, honest mechanic suggested that Ray just used a scanner to turn off the engine light and never did anything to actually resolve the mechanical issue. He also knows parts stores that won't even sell to Pine St because they don't pay thwir bills and try to return used parts as warranties. Avoid this place at all costs. If in Waltham go to Diaz or Auto Systema. Both honest and resonable. read more

I came to this shop after the recommendation from my former auto repair shop (since their BMW technician had left). After almost an ENTIRE MONTH of my car being at the shop and a $1,500 bill, it was finally ready to be picked up. I drove it home and the second I parked it (from Waltham to Boston) the check engine light came on again. I called Ray back up and had to drive it back to the shop so he could take another look.... A week or so goes by and Ray lets me know that they made a mistake and changed the wrong part, so they would put back my old part (said they would refund me the money for that part that didn't need to be replaced), and went ahead with the repairs that should have been done in the first place. In the end, Ray was kind enough to drive my car back to me in Boston, and all looked fine. He said to "call it a wash" and did not refund me any money, nor did he charge me anything additional. A week goes by, and my coolant light goes on. I called Ray up, and he said to fill the coolant up so I took it to the gas station to have it filled. Turns out my coolant was full... so I called Ray, and he advised that the sensor for my coolant light was probably broken, but the coolant was not low so it was fine. Just strange since it wasn't "broken" when the car was at the shop.... I was so frustrated at this point with all the back and fourth, I just said OK this is fine and I will deal with a sensor not working. Almost one year later..... my car's engine is rumbling so I take it to a local shop (I had moved from Boston to NYC at this point, so I went somewhere nearby in CT). Turns out the electric water pump that I paid Ray $900 to replace is already broken and my coolant is leaking (the real reason the coolant light had been on this whole time), and my engine was in danger of overheating. I was told by these technicians that the electric water pump Ray used was cheap and it had already broken. The technicians there told me to call Ray and ask about his warranty so I could at least get my money back for the job he did (it was just shy of a year prior), which would be $900. That day I called Ray and he informed me that his warranty was 90 days or 6 months at best (the place I went has a 1 year warranty). He assured me he would do anything to help me, and said he could call the warehouse that sold him the electric water pump to see if I could at least get the $500 back that I paid for the new part. This happened Friday, so I called him back on Monday as we had discussed.. no answer. I never heard from him again, and never received any refund. My next bill was $2,500 for the job that should have been done correctly at Pine Street Automotive. I will never go back to this place. read more

Paid almost $700 for repairs and they "changed" the hubs on my car and supposedly my rotors. I took the car back many times until Ray said my warranty was out and there was nothing he could do for me. Turns out it wasn't my hubs, it was the box under my hood that was bad not the hub. They "replaced" or at least charged me for replacing the rotor......I got the car fixed right and the mechanic showed me one of the rotors they "replaced" and it was the factory rotor, which means they never actually replaced it. Only charged me for it. The mechanic I went to in the end saw the bill I paid from Pine Street Auto and he said "I know mechanics blow up bills, but this is crazy, especially for work never done" He even doubted my hubs were actually changed. When I tried to question Ray his wife said he was not available. I asked where they got the parts for my car and she said she "couldn't remember" when I finally got hold of Ray he said the same. UNREAL!!!!! I let Pine Street work on it so long ago I can't even sue them for my money back. THIEVES! read more
