When we were going to Mama Bird next door a couple of weeks ago, I noticed his hidden gem/hole in the wall place and saw that they serve Dole Whip, a popular dessert item at Disneyland. We popped in here tonight so I could get some. Along with their usual pineapple flavor, their Dole Whip comes in other flavors, such as mango, coconut, and strawberry. And alongside Dole Whip, they also have ice cream and floats that come in various flavors. It was not at all busy when we stopped by, so it was a quick walk in and walk out. I convinced my boyfriend to try the Dole Whip as well, though he is not exactly a sweet tooth person. The Dole Whip was topped with a pineapple chunk, a cherry, and had pineapple juice to drink through with a straw. We both thought it was delicious! Yes, yes. Let us all be a Pineapple: Stand tall, wear a crown, and be sweet on the inside! :-) Not only was it National Pineapple Day on June 27th, it was also 100 degrees in Las Vegas. Dole Whip soft serve was calling my name from the Pineapple Park dessert cafe in Southern Highlands. They also serve Thrifty brand ice cream flavors! Their Dole Whip menu (dairy-free and vegan) consists of Pineapple, Coconut, Strawberry, Mango, Lime, and Rasberry flavors. Vanilla and Chocolate soft serve (dairy) are also available. I opted for the Pineapple & Coconut swirl in a waffle cone and it tasted so refreshing! Not too tart. The coconut flavor provided a bit of a creamy, nutty flavor and consistency. The waffle cone tasted like it was fresh baked, perfect crunch and sweetness factor. Highly recommend! The following night we enjoyed another round of cold treats in small cups since we just had filling dinner at Hola, which is just around the corner. Rocky Road and Pineapple + Coconut swirl were a perfect way to end the night. Would highly recommend Pineapple Park when craving for something sweet and cold! What happened to this place? My family has been going here since around 2019 when I moved back to Las Vegas. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I want to return. We came in on July 6th and it was strange. First, the kid behind the counter just stood there after helping another customer and his family. It was like he was staring in space while we waited for him to get our order. After an awkward 20 seconds or so of just standing at the counter waiting on him; we said something and he finally came back to earth to take our order. The other thing is the selection of flavors; they barely had anything that was appetizing. I used to come here and would be overwhelmed with choices. Now I look at both counters struggling to find something appealing. This place was dead with no sitting customers and now I know why. No worries, there's a Baskin Robbin's in the same plaza. I nearly cried when I had a bite of the dole whip! If you're missing the islands or Disneyland come here for a taste you will not be disappointed. With that said, I think their POG dole is my all time favorite. So, until Saturday, I had never tried Dole whip... i know, to some people that's shocking. So i just looked up dole whip on yelp, and found this place! I was really glad it was so close! The location was easy to find, but upon walking in, I understood the vibe they were going for, but wasn't exactly executed well. Unfortunately it looks looks like the back walls need to be repainted, and the couch in the front needs to be replaced. Ignoring that, i did like the diverse menu... some people don't like dole whip, and would rather have ice cream, so I respect that. The service was just fine, and i did appreciate that like another ice cream shop, i was able to try a sample of the dole whip flavors before committing to one. I loved it. I will definitely have to come back and enjoy the dole whip. Today, I had a s'mores crepe and it was delicious! Definitely very sweet but they do not skimp out on the portions at all. I wouldn't suggest getting it if you don't like overly sweet desserts. It has a LOT of chocolate. Again, they don't skimp out on it.
