We walked in to the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised at the ambience. I don't think we've found anything like it in all Venice, Florida. Very welcoming. Our server Diana was amazing... Very friendly and the food was really good. I think everything was done very well. I had the Pollo Loco and my wife had the enchiladas, along with roasted jalapeños, which made it very spicy... Awesome. We plan to go back and try everything on the menu because it all looks like the type of food we love. Only thing I wasn't fond of was their salsa. I did not think I would ever write a negative review for this place, no choice. We average eating here 2 times weekly, in house and to go. The food and service has always been on point. The issue is not the food, it's the new crazy pricing. I have years of restaurant ownership and completely understand food cost and related operational expenses. I also understand the owners are in business to make a living and can charge whatever they want for their product. Also know in the food business is the low cost of Mexican food products compared to other types of food. Today 2 burritos $50.00, nothing on the side, just two burrito. My twice a week visits will now be 1 time per month, not because I can't afford it but because it's not worth $50.00. I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration with the recent experience my family and I had at Pineapple Tequila, a restaurant we have frequented for the past three years. As loyal customers who have been visiting the establishment at least 6-8 times a month for lunch and dinner, and almost every Taco Tuesday, we are utterly dismayed by the changes that have occurred. To begin with, the updated prices at Pineapple Tequila are WORSE THAN THEME PARK RESTAURANT PRICES! $5-$10 per plate increase! This is an unacceptable and blatant attempt to exploit loyal customers like myself. I have heard of something of a VENICE visitor restaurant tax or something coming? Is this it? We have been coming to this establishment because of its affordable and reasonable pricing, which has now been shattered. Adding insult to injury, the new staff and the substitute manager's handling of our recent visit was nothing short of appalling. As a family who has been a loyal customer, coming to Blue, Pink & Pineapple Tequila for the past three years, we have developed a relationship with a couple of the managers, lovely woman who have always made us feel welcome. However, the substitute manager "blue tequila location" who greeted us during our last visit was completely out of line. We arrived for Taco Tuesday, as we have done countless times before, and ordered the same items we have always enjoyed on this day - a Steak Verde plate, 12 hard shell tacos, and a single drink to take advantage of the advertised "Buy a drink, get hard shell tacos for $1.99 or soft shells for $2.99" promotion. This is a standard practice at most Mexican restaurants that offer Taco Tuesday specials. To our utter disbelief, the "new" waiter whom we had seen the previous week, seemed to have a rather smug attitude when taking our order, and never refills our drinks informed us that we needed to order three additional drinks to accompany the 12 tacos we had ordered. This was a complete departure from the established policy that we have been following for years. When we questioned this new requirement, the substitute manager from the Blue Tequila "north port location" had the audacity to claim that the staff must have been "improperly trained." This blatant lie only served to further infuriate us. We have always enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and the sense of community at Pineapple Tequila, as it reminds me of my own Hispanic heritage and family traditions. However, the disrespectful treatment we received from the new staff and the substitute manager has shattered that experience. We will not be returning to Pineapple Tequila, Pink Tequila, and definitely not Blue Tequila. The owners have clearly demonstrated a complete disregard for their loyal customers and a blatant attempt to increase profits at the expense of their established reputation. This is unacceptable, and we will be sure to share our experience with others. read more

Fabulous food, excellent service and beautiful decor! Never expected to find such a restaurant that would put a smile on every member of my parties face but I did! This place is super clean and has the VERY BEST Mexican Food in Venice and Sarasota Florida. The flavor from properly cooked, fresh ingredients is so refreshing. You will notice an immediate taste difference once you bite into the Shrimp on the Fajita plate, or the chicken on the Quesadilla Lite Dish,( just to name a few of their items on the menu.) I asked to be seated at the bar. All the staff were quick to tend to me. They were attentive, helpful, and responsive. I ordered the Carnitas dinner. This came with a generous portion of tummy carnitas, spanish rice, refried beans, and a small portion of lettuce/pico de gallo. While my dinner was being prepped, I ordered a michelada (mex bloody mary as my neighbor to my right calked it). I asked my waitress if they had any salsa that might be a bit spicier than what they bring out to the "norm", she brought out a trio of salsas. Brought up the heat, and they were very good. Enjoyed my dinner, michelada, and still had 1/2 a plate to bring home for the next day. Will be back with a party of friends. Cant wait to try more of their dishes. Let's be honest, it's a food desert in the area if you are looking for quality. I was simply amazed by Pineapple Tequila. This is exceptional Mexican food and puts most other restaurants in the area to shame. First, the ambiance is classy yet casual. The have beautiful chandeliers in the shape of giant pineapples throughout. Over the bar are the most beautiful glass artwork, similar to what you'd see in the Bellagio in Las Vegas. It's just a stunning environment. Someone put a ton of thought into the design of this place. The food was delightful and has an excellent mix of authentic Mexican dishes as well as the "Americanized" versions most consumer in the US are used to. Essentially, if you can't find anything on the menu, you aren't hungry. Great place and the prices are very reasonable. read more

I ate here the first week it opened and had to wait a while given its new and everyone wants to try it. I think the food at Blue is made better. My food seemed like it was microwaved, my food was very dry even the beans were dry. I got the Mexican street tacos. The chips was very hard and not warm. The restaurant is very beautiful, great atmosphere, but I think they need to focus on the quality of the food as a main priority. My server was very slow- barely came around. Four of us decided to have a birthday dinner here. They come to the tale and sing to you, then the birthday person gets a free ice cream. When we arrived, we only had to wait about 7 minutes. The restaurant was full. We were seated and given food, special drink and dessert menus. We gave our drink order and it was served immediately. The decor was vibrant, every staff member we encountered were happy and upbeat. once seated Cynthia was our waitress, she had personality + and was a nice person to talk with. Outstanding! We love the Blue Tequila and Pink Tequila in North Port and since visiting Venice, Pineapples Tequila is our new weekly go-to restaurant. Super friendly employees, great service, great food, reasonable prices, cool atmosphere, grandiose decoration, TVs with sports playing. It gets crowded for dinner but we just belly up to the bar and we're seated pronto. Kudos to manager Irene for keeping this busy place running like a well oiled machine.
