VERY little cheese , lettuce and tomato. small cup of sour cream, and nothing else. just three basic tacos for $10.99. couldn't even eat one because the juice from the tomato made the tortilla so wet if fell apart. served on a sheet of foil on a plate too. service was average , not great. not impressed at all. We Finally got to try this place! (On a Monday night 8pm while everyone is in hurricane panic mode.) We came in as a family of 5 and got seated right away. Joy was our waitress, and we all loved her. She was so welcoming, funny and right on top of everything. The food was awesome. The lighting and decor was beautiful to look at. Giant Pineapple chandeliers!! Lighting over the bar that looks like a mini Bellagio in Vegas... Just stunning to look at. I even heard the bathrooms were fun! The drinks were delicious, food was on point. Chips and salsa - so good! Joy even brought over metal tin to-go containers for us, just in case we lose electricity- we can heat everything right up on the grill. Huge shout out to Joy! We absolutely enjoyed our food at Pineapple Tequila. We were lucky enough to be there on the night where they had entertainment. The singer and the dancer created a wonderful atmosphere. Very entertaining. The music was not too loud and we were still able to communicate with each other at our table. The waiter was excellent and the manager stopped by our table at the end of our meal to make sure we were happy with everything. The Pineapple lighting & wall art we're just beautiful. Outstanding! We love the Blue Tequila and Pink Tequila in North Port and since visiting Venice, Pineapples Tequila is our new weekly go-to restaurant. Super friendly employees, great service, great food, reasonable prices, cool atmosphere, grandiose decoration, TVs with sports playing. It gets crowded for dinner but we just belly up to the bar and we're seated pronto. Kudos to manager Irene for keeping this busy place running like a well oiled machine. We watched how bustling it was on Tuesday; more kudos to servers Jesus, Bryan, Joy, and all the bartenders. Love the happy hour margueritas. You'll love this place. read more

Another attempt at helping Pineapple Tequila grow and be the amazing restaurant it could be! First off, the good- we ordered veggie fajitas that were more than filling for three with a side of extra tortillas and black beans. Fajitas are typically such a big order! On that note- there was enough veggie for 8 fajitas. It comes with 3 tortillas, so heads up- pretty standard to have way more fajita filling than tortillas! Now on to the frustrating parts. As I've stated in my last two reviews, they list vegetarian black beans and refried beans, yet serve essentially every vegetarian menu item with rice...COOKED IN CHICKEN BROTH. We asked for rice on the side, as my husband will still eat it. We got an extra order of rice (and were charged for it). We get our veggie fajitas with no meat...and find a huge piece of chicken in our food. I talked to the waiter about the rice, talked to them about the chicken broth, and they basically asked me to tell a manager (and then proceeded to charge me full price for everything. Yes, the chicken was on a napkin as evidence. I did talk to the manager, raved about how great it COULD be for vegetarians, and put in another plea for vegetarian rice. She took the meat evidence to have a clear talk with her staff because this is not okay, and is the second time it's happened here. What's a bust is she didn't do the customer service step of making things right by us. A gift card, discount on the food...those are how you make things right. That is how you build raving fans that bring their friends back. And as far as why we keep trying it? We can literally walk here and would love to have this be our go-to Mexican restaurant we send everyone to! Please pay attention to the vegetarians- there are more and more of us out there, and yes, there is a legit meat allergy- you can't be lax with the meat anymore! read more

Wife's favorite cuisine is Mexican & it's my least favorite, so I usually take her out for Mexican food as a mercy mission. But "discovered " this place- THE only Mexican restaurant I've ever loved. Have now gone 3x in 2 weeks. Always sit at bar & so enjoy servers Jenni & Diana. (One visit neither was there and sadly the other bartenders were relatively efficient but not very engaging.) Carnitas the best I've EVER had- same with the dish Camarones Diablo. (I like spicy.) Cosmo martini best ever. Wife and I retired from 80 combined years in hospitality industry so we appreciate outstanding food & service. Ordered a three taco dinner, but sides were extra. $6.95 for rice & beans seemed like a big ask when you already order an "entree". The tacos weren't what I expected. They didn't have a traditional taco seasoning taste, tater they were bland and tasted like black pepper. Others in my party were satisfied with their food choices. This new restaurant in Venice is quite nice on the inside. The staff are very pleasant and efficient. The food is tasty and plentiful. The only drawback to me was that the pricing is much higher than the other Tex-Mex restaurants in the area. Also, as with a number of restaurants in this area, the acoustics are terrible making conversation difficult. However I could make this claim on at least 3 other restaurants nearby that I enjoy. read more

Went here on date night whim and the wait was 45 minutes on a Friday night at 8pm. Luckily we found two seats at the bar and had the best experience there! The ambiance and home made guacamole the best( even though the girl making the guacamole couldn't even say thank you for the tip we gave her). The food is marginal for how expensive it is. Our waitress was very nice and completely read back our order correctly, but the kitchen left the beef off our cheese quesadillas and they didn't cook the shrimp on our shrimp salad. Speaking of salad. The menu reads salads made with romaine lettuce. Our salad was clearly a little lettuce( iceberg) with a million onions and no tomatoes. The rice and beans don't have any flavor, I would guess they came out of a can. They focus greatly on the details in decorating the place, now the need to give that same attention to detail to the food.
