Family owned and operated but is switching owners in the next month. This location has been a pinnacle for the italian (and entirety) of plainville baked good lovers. You'll find it on that horrendous bottlenecked stretch of Route 4 in Farmington- just look for the bright red umbrellas. It seemed a little smaller than the other locations, but there is a staircase to a separate dining room on the second floor above the sales counter and showroom. You'll find all the high-quality products that HBC is famous for - breads, loaves, rolls, dozens of pastries and sweet treats, plus sandwiches. It's quite a nice menu and you can out together an excellent varied meal for dining in or take-out. We went the takeout route and picked up two gorgeous sandwiches -a prosciutto de parma (Thinly sliced Prosciutto Di Parma, provolone cheese, and arugula on a homemade croissant) and a Caprese (loaded with slabs of Fresh mozzarella, sliced tomato, and fresh basil on ciabatta drizzled with vinegar). Their sandwiches are excellent and a pretty decent value at under ten dollars. PRO TIP Don't even dare thinking about parking on busy Route 4, there is none, but go around the corner on High Street and you'll find plenty of parking in a lot behind the building.

Their bakery is amazing -with wonderful looking breads, rolls, pastries, cupcakes, pies, Danish, cookies, donuts and specialized goodies in every shape, color, and description under the sun. Today, we picked up a gorgeous loaf of marble rye bread, six of their famous handmade donuts, and three Danish. I had a glazed donut this afternoon and it was light, sweet and pretty much fantastic. To be honest, calling Nonni's a "bakery" really shortchanges Grandma, because it is SO much more than that. Yes, of course they sell an incredible variety of beautifully crafted cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and cannolis, but you can also buy breakfast sandwiches, pizza, stromboli, arancino, stuffed breads, grinders, chicken cutlets and more.
