If you're down this way, Pinky's Eatery is a must stop... outside of the items on the steam bar, the meal is prepared once ordered. It's less a restaurant and instead a step back in time to your Grandma's house including the picking of fresh collards in the main room... I had the smoked wings but I'll be back for the fish, the shrimp, the turkey wings and so much more! Make your way over to Pinkey' s Eatery, you won't regret it....

The food is really good here. From scratch homemade and delicious southern cooking and bbq. It is strictly take out and the only reason I dock one star is because the service can be very slow more often than not, especially at dinner times on Friday and Saturday. No online ordering so my only suggestion is to call ahead because they will answer the phone, even when there is a line backed up, which can be a little frustrating. As long as you're patient, it's worth the wait.

This is my first visit here. Pack on your patience. Even though the food is already cooked it's about a 15 minute wait. And, there's no dining in. Not because of COVID-19, it's a small venue. We ordered the smothered pork chops with cabbage and collards, mac and cheese, and slightly sweetened cornbread. The portions were enough for two ppl. The mac and cheese needs some work. It's like elementary school cafeteria style.

OMG Pinky's is the go to for great food in Calvert county Little strip mall in Owings, but don't let that fool you. Got pulled pork w 2 sides and fried pork chops w 2 sides PP off the hook as was fried PCs Side were candied yams, Mac n cheese, sweet potato soufflé and red beans and rice. Everything was perfect!! Also Popeyes got NOTHIN on pinky's red beans and rice!! Please patronize this Calvert gem!!

The fried catfish, shrimp, cornbread and Mac and cheese were perfect, and a little bit of vinegar on the collards and cabbage made it perfect

Probably a summer job. Crab soup was a 5. Delicious with chuck of crab. Fish Tacos a 5. Big, well seasoned fish with a corn salsa. Could have used more sauce. Crab cake was a 5. Choices are blackened, fried, or broiled. Went with broiled and it was excellent. Great cakes here with not too much filler. Fries and onion rings a 3. Nothing special. Orange crush. cocktails are a thing here. Refreshing for sure. Ok selection of beers on tap.

We came to Skipper's for the Mrs. Maryland Club sandwich. The last time my wife and I were here, we…read moreremembered just how delicious this sandwich was, so we decided to make the trip back. We arrived around 6:30 PM and were surprised to see the parking lot pretty empty. We sat at the bar and were greeted quickly by the bartender, who took our drink order. Both of us ordered the Mrs. Maryland Club, which is made with shrimp salad, a crab cake, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. The sandwich arrived fairly quickly and looked good, but right away we noticed something seemed different from our last visit. The biggest disappointment was the size of the crab cake and amount of shrimp salad. The last time we were here, the crab cake covered the entire sandwich and shrimp salad was falling off the sandwich. It was one of the reasons we remembered it so fondly. This time, the crab cake was noticeably smaller just a little bigger than a golf ball the shrimp salad was just 7 baby shrimp and the chips I got maybe 12-15 chips and half of them were rubbery, overall the sandwich just didn't seem as substantial as we remembered. The little shrimp salad had good flavor, the bacon was cooked nicely, and everything tasted fresh. It just didn't live up to the memory of our previous visit, not worth $21 for sure. Service was friendly, and the food came out quickly. The atmosphere was relaxed, and as always, the waterfront location is a nice place to enjoy a meal. Overall, the Mrs. Maryland Club is still a good sandwich, but based on our experience, the portions seem to have gotten a lot smaller. We'll likely return again, but we hope to see the sandwich brought back to the size and quality that made it so memorable the first time.

Ten minutes later, our server said there was a problem. What? The bartender told her there was no entry on the computer for a drink with both vodka and gin. She tried to steer me to another drink. I told her that I and others have been drinking a split Martini for at least 50 years. I told her that wasn't my problem, it was theirs. They figured it out. Also, they were embarrassed to report that they had no crab dishes of any sort. This was January, so, while I understand that live crabs are still sleeping at the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay (that the restaurant sits on the edge of) we all know there are many sources of crab meat. Even if frozen properly (not in a frost-free freezer) the crab will not suffer a lot. Then, there are also crabs from the Gulf of Mexico. Other than these two challenges -- one solved, one not -- it was a nice first visit. I did find that the lighting over the bar -- individual unshaded bulbs -- were hard on my eyes from our table in the dining room, but I just moved to the other side of the table. Problem solved. Easy parking across the street.
