I booked an event for 40 on the patio and man, am I glad I picked Pinocchio's Pizza. I do not live in California and I had to plan a 40th birthday for my spouse. The reason I booked was because their catering menu had many options. We went with the gold menu since we brought our own cake. They have add on options such as a a meat and cheese bar which we added. The appetizers were great - the bruschetta was served fresh and the mozzarella sticks were hot and crispy. We have some family members on the autistic spectrum so we also added a few pizzas last minute to meet their preferences. All food including the buffet was set up on time based on previous conversations that I had with our banquet manager, Sophia. She went above and beyond from turning on outdoor heaters to making sure all drinks were refilled. Sophia and her team did a wonderful job in taking care of all of our family menders. However even before our event, Sophia was available via text to answer any and all questions. If you get the chance to work with her, DO IT!! Thanks Armen for having a great restaurant!! I've only gotten delivery and takeout so I can't speak to the ambiance or service, but the food is excellent! I've tried a variety of pizzas, pastas, apps, and salads and everything has been really tasty. They have a pretty large variety of pastas in particular, which come in generous portions with a whole loaf of garlic bread and a very large side salad for a small additional cost. This was my first time coming here and it did not disappoint. I came here with friends after attending a conference. I really enjoyed the lunch size sausage penne -- every bit of home made goodness! The dish had just enough sauce to cover but not overwhelm the penne. The sausage was flavorful, well-seasoned, and very authentic. Those that I dined with came through with an array of dishes that were equally promising. I noted the chicken wings -- that looked absolutely scrumptous -- something to come back and try out! Really disappointed. Grew up eating at this place but all of the waiters are rude and the manager is horrible. My grandma put a deposit down on the private room last year and asked to change the date of the party because a relative got sick. Manager said fine, and held the deposit for the next year. My grandma reserved a date for this upcoming July and the manager did not write it down and booked the room for another party on the same day. He then proceeded to lie to my grandma, saying they never had a conversation about booking the room and that "there is no way you will ever get your deposit back". He refused to book another date, saying everything was taken. He then escorted her off the property like she was going to vandalize something. Not only is this $300 down the drain, but my grandma was very disturbed by the interaction. How can you treat elderly customers so rudely? If you don't believe me, take a look at how the manager responds to any negative feedback given in the reviews- totally unprofessional. We have been long time patrons of this place. I had my 13th birthday here! But management is has truly fallen off and we are really disappointed. Please save yourself the trouble and eat at Gale's or Porta Via. read more

As frequent readers of my Yelp reviews know, when we are out of town, we look for a local pizza place. We love pizza. We found Pinocchio's on Yelp and it was close to our hotel, so...pizza. But before I get to the food, there is an issue you need to be aware of. I have included a picture of the Happy Hour menu, and it looks pretty good. But for reasons I'm not sure of, the Happy Hour doesn't apply to the entire restaurant. No, you have to be sitting in the bar area to take advantage of the special prices. We even asked our server if we were able to get the happy hour prices, and she said her manager doesn't allow them to do that. Now, putting aside whatever reason the manager has for having different prices for food and drinks depending upon where you happen to be sitting in the restaurant, if you make that decision, why do you advertise the Happy Hour specials on EVERY table in the restaurant??? I mean, if everyone who was sitting outside the bar area had decided to move to the bar, one--there wouldn't be enough room for everyone, and two--the servers would lose tables left and right to the bar tenders. But, I digress. The food was excellent. We ordered the spinach dip and it was hot and delicious, and was served with plenty of Italian bread slices. We all orders personal pizzas, and they were a very good size. Two people could probably split one personal pizza if you ordered an appetizer and/or salads. They have a pretty decent section of what I assume are local beers on tap, of which I partook. The service was very good, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. I had my daughter's bridal shower there and from the moment we booked everything was so easy. The service was amazing, they set up the tables with beautiful linens, and even accommodated last minute changes. When the food came out, oh my goodness it was delicious! Bowling Alley Italian. This place is turning stuff out straight from a frozen food bag and dropping it into the fryer--then tossing it on your plate. It's actually pretty amazing how many different dishes you can make from frozen food. As I type from the toilet here, with some Bowling Alley Italian revenge, I have to wonder, "just how do they do it?" The "grilled" chicken has that very, very, very low quality chicken look and feel with the fake grill marks on it. Look at it more closely--it might not even be real chicken. Lower than Subway "chicken". Disgusting. The wings taste--frozen. If your wings actually taste frozen, you got a problem on your hands. McDonald's does better. The tomatoes was very soggy. The caprese was tasteless, it would be nice to have a tad more salt. Even with the sauce, it was very so so. I ordered the caprese sandwich with onion rings. It was absolutely delicious. Mozzarella, basil, and tomato sandwiched between perfectly toasted bread and some pesto. The onion rings came out fresh and piping hot. I also tried a bite of the shrimp pesto linguini and next time I'll definitely be getting that for myself. Lately I've been craving Italian food, and I decided to give Pinnochio's Pizza a try. The restaurant has a very reasonable price tag, and a varied menu that is not limited to pizza only. My wife actually is not a huge fan of pizza, so we ended up getting the chicken spinach lasagna and the grilled salmon, as these were the dishes she wanted to try. For one of the entrees, we got a dinner portion, which comes with soup and garlic bread. The soup was a minestrone soup, which was actually quite fresh and the vegetables were delicious. The garlic bread was warm, freshly baked, and not too buttery or heavy. My wife and I both loved the grilled salmon, which had some mild citrus flavors and also was juicy. We finished the salmon pretty quickly. The pesto linguini was fairly standard, but quite delicious nonetheless. The chicken spinach lasagna came with white sauce, which I liked, as most lasagnas are made with a marinara sauce. The dish was definitely on the heavy side for me, and I was not able to finish it all in one sitting. It was still very good, just hard for me to finish all at once. This rating is split into two experiences. Dinner at the restaurant was great. I think the food and variety is really good. All the pizzas I have tried there are really good. Fried calamari, the eggplant parm was also tasty, good flavors. I like the bread used for the sandwiches, so I think any sandwich could be good. The services at the restaurant was friendly, and helpful, they gave a good recommendations for the menu. Order catering... we order food for 12/17 for 4:30pm, and they food didnt arrive until 6pm. we called at 5pm, and were told it was on the way, and we only live like 2 miles for the restaurant. Called again at 5:30pm, and they said the same thing. When I asked to speak the to a supervisor, another staff, i am assuming, the boss, was very short, un-apologetic, basically saying they only have one driver, and a lot of orders, and there is nothing they could do about the food being an hour and a half late. they didnt offer a discount, which we would not have take, we already paid and tipped up front. They didnt offer to compensate us in any way. I think its pretty unprofessional for food to be an hour and a half late, and to have a large party waiting, and not be apologetic about. on the plus, the delivery driver, who was around sixty years old, was super nice, and i could tell was trying his best, to be helpful. I would go back to dine in and eat at the restaurant. But I would not do catering or big orders with them again, due to this last experience. read more

Yesterday was my first time attempt and unfortunately will be my last due to their poor customer service. I ordered delivery through Grubhub. Little did I know Grubhub uses the restaurant's delivery drivers. I waited ten minutes past the anticipated delivery time to contact the restaurant. At which point they placed me in extensive hold and then they told me the driver was scheduled to arrive at 6:40pm, to give them about 5 more minutes due to the rain (this was around 6:43pm). I waited until 7pm, 20 minutes after the restaurant's anticipated delivery time and a full 35 minutes after Grubhub's anticipated time. They said it was delivered at which point I told them it had not. Then they proceeded to ask me for my name and delivery address. After I provided that, they told me the driver is near, which is the same answer they gave me 20 minutes prior. So I asked them to contact the driver. They then proceeded to put on the rudest manager I've ever spoken with and to be honest have no idea how such a person would be a manager in a customer service role. Pretty much told me it is what it is due to the rain (which had stopped at that point), them being busy, and that their driver's can't be "driving 100 miles per hour". I just celebrated my daughter's college graduation at Pinocchio's Pizza. I was so lucky they had availability given that I sort of booked last minute. Armen was very patient and accommodating and then Sophia took over as my point person and she was just as awesome! The back and forth communication is the kind anyone wants and appreciates when having an event to make sure all the details are just right. Sophia even sent me a picture of the final set up the night before, which I was truly grateful for. I showed up with my table runners and centerpieces the day of and did nothing else because the staff had the rest handled. I did arrange for a balloon backdrop to be delivered and set up, which again, Sophia accommodated and left room for because we had previously discussed it. My guests kept complementing my choice of venue. It was chill (the vibe my daughter wanted) but still elegant (what I wanted). I would, and plan to, absolutely host another event here, no question about it! Went to a private party held at Pinocchio's and it was my first time dining there. Food tasted great, although the temperature of the pizza was a bit cold and the cheese was a bit hard. I took off a star because the servers took wayyyy too long to bring my coffee, and when it arrived, I received it in a disposable paper cup. They also never came to refill our drinks and we had to keep bringing the carafes over to the bar ourselves. Other than that, we were there for 3+ hours and they had the tv's on with the football game playing. Seems like a great place to hang out or host a gathering and would go again! read more

I ordered from happy hour and lunch took awhile for the lunch meal I actually thought they forgot me so I had to inquire about the food, then they had prepared it to go which I was ok with because I didn't know my happy hour wings came with fries, I got the lunch pasta with the green pasta sauce I didn't get a picture of it since I got it to go, but I would highly recommend the restaurant.
