The food was good but it is a Fritanga which means the food is already prepared. There is so much business that the food is fresh. They are famous for their Carne Asada (grilled meat) and rightfully so. It is moist and flavorful. The seating is almost all outside and relative to their busyness caused most people to take their food to go. I also was not impressed in the way they were refilling emptying food containers. Today I went in for lunch/dinner as usual and I was served by an older woman who was very rude to me. I understand my spanish is very basic but it's enough for me to order food clearly. I specifically asked the lady for salsa jalapeño and she poured the gravy from some beef stew. I told her no that's not what I wanted and she then pours the salsa jalapeño sauce on my rice. I was always very upset at the fact she did not change my rice or even apologize for pouring the wrong sauce and not listening carefully. She continued with my order with a very bad attitude and made me feel very unappreciated to be there. I kindly asked her for extra picante/chile sauce and she ignored me. Ontop of all of that I said thank you and have a nice day and as she is closing up my bag she gave me a very disrespectful look, no smile, did not ask if I wanted anything else and she did not thank me for my buisness. As a customer who goes there 5 times a week to eat lunch/dinner for work and also a regular customer at the other Pinolandias, I'm very pissed off of how I was treated today. Me and my family were customers of Pinolandia since 11 years ago. We were always recommending this place to our friends and family. But a few months back, we have been experiencing a degrading quality in the food. The Carne asada most of the time has been burnt and the seasoning has changed as well as Sour. Today was the last straw when the gallo pinto was burned and the Sweet plantains was also burned. Enough is enough with this restaurant and its horrible Cooking and it was almost the same results every-time we buy food from that place in the last few months. I have known this place since I was a little toddler, I remember Pinolanda used to be a white house on a corner, located on Flagler street. That's when the plate was $2.50. The food from now and then, always delicious! Over my teenage years, i remember buying food and sitting inside to eat and enjoying the Cacao with the queso frito. (Mmmmm) Well.... I visited Pinolanda on 10/20/17. The food is still the same (AMAZING) and I saw that the restaurant switched somethings around. All the dining tables are outside, grill on the right side when you enter and to order food is located on the left. Pinolanda still has the very nice ladies serving you like if you were family, which such love and kindness. Not until I walked into the back room, where you can buy drinks and buy other useful stuff. I not only went to get a drink but also this very good Body Sponge that they bring from Nicaragua that they sell there. As I walked in, I saw that the place was crowded, but that didn't make me turn away. There were 3 people taking orders, so the line was moving pretty quick. It was my turn when the lady asked me what I wanted to buy, I kindly said (Un Paste para Vanar) a Sponge to bathe. She then sucked her teeth with a very nasty attitude and said NEXT to the person behind me. At that moment I felt so disrespectful. Then she walked towards the guy that was behind me. At that moment I went off!! I asked her, how can she do that? Her reply was that she wasn't paying attention. I went off again!! She knew what the hell she was doing, I was standing right in her face when I was ordering. She looked in her mid 30's. She started to exchange some words with me until I felt that it was enough, I then left. As I walk back to see if my food was ready, I kindly asked the ladies that were working in the front if they know who was the supervisor or manager of that rude lady in the back. They explain to me that they are two different departments with different managers. She advised me to go back into the room and ask for a manager and someone was going to attend me. I walked back into the room, and she was there with a Killer Face. I asked a young guy if it was possible to speak to a supervisor and he started to bluff. I feel like Pinolanda doesn't need mean and disrespectful employees. I felt like treated like a homeless person that was there to ask for free things. Due to this incident, I will never return back to Pinolanda. I don't want to bump heads with this awful lady. I hope they can fire her and find someone with more motivation and less attitude. But, please NEVER buy another kind of food because it's old or 2 days before. Some enchiladas are hard like a brick and dry, also the pork skin. Place used to be 5 stars before they remodeled. Food doesn't taste the same anymore. Maybe got new owners or new employees but it doesn't taste the same anymore and the meat is now burnt when they give it to you.
