Amazing pizza! Don't let the outside appearance turn you away! Might be the best pizza in town!

We went here for lunch for the first time and it will be my last. There was a young male and female at the counter who seemed like they would rather be somewhere else (no smile, no greeting, just "what's your order.") We ordered, got our number and watched for an hour as people who came in after us received their orders. Finally, exceeding our hour lunch, I inquired and it turned out, they never even started it so I asked for our orders to be boxed up and then inquired about compensation. They said there would be no compensation so I insisted on leaving my name and number for the owners. I have since left two more messages with no return call. Their customer service SUCKS! read more

I found this place because of Yelp! I sought out to find "really good pizza by the slice" and this place came up. I love pizza! It's one of my favorite foods. To me Federal Pizza has some of the best pizza in the Valley. This would come in second for me. 1 slice is huge! Not like the $5 slices you pick up in DC huge but bigger than a normal slice of pizza. The waitress asked if I were ordering more than one slice. She said, "if you are then you should just order a 10 inch pizza because of the price". One slice was almost 6 bucks, a 10 inch was around 10 bucks and change I believe. Next time I'll just go with the 10 inch. I ordered the pepperoni and sausage slice. Homemade sausage might I add. Man ... it was soooooooo good and pippin hot. Note to self and others: Let it set for longer than 2 minutes before you try and take a bite. Trust me! read more

This is my go-to spot for carry out pizza in Central Phoenix. I've probably carried out from there now 10x or more and I'm never disappointed. They staff is always super chill & very kind. My preferred pie is the vegetariana- the crust is everything you could ever dream of: crispy at the edge, but not overdone, and soft toward the middle without being soggy. And seriously, the toppings? So. Many. Toppings. They don't cheap out on you. Every inch is covered with delicious veggies. Their mozzarella tastes super rich & high-quality... the way it should be. I also love the panzanella salad!! The house-made balsamic is literally the best I've ever had. Plenty of salad toppings and the crispy af bread is knock-out. I never get bored of their spaghetti a la capri. I love the spaghetti here and also white wine. Another thing I love here is their bread and salad. I always go to Pino whenever we think about pasta and pizza. We found the BEST antipasto in town, like our waiter told us. This was a first time visit for my mom, daughter and I. We had the Bianca pizza (white pizza), and I admit o was a bit nervous, but as soon as it came out and I could smell it I knew it was going to be delicious. We also had the caprise salad and a cannoli. Everything was delicious but the pizza was amazing. The staff was super nice. I had to pick up my daughter from school after I ordered and asked if they could take the pizza to my mom because she has trouble walking. When I got back they had taken the food to our table as I had asked. I don't live close by, but will definitely go back when I'm in the area. read more

Was in town for a wedding , and decided to stop in on the way back home to Los Angeles. We stopped at Pino's for late lunch. From the outside, this place does not look like anything spectacular... boy was I in for an amazing experience. I was welcomed with a beaming smile from Pino himself. We were seated right away and started looking over the menu. The price point was super affordable which made me second guess the quality of menu items. We ordered Margherita pizza, spaghetti bolognese, prosciutto and salami panini and salad. I have never ate any bread or pizza crust more delicious! Pino kept telling us how he loves to make his own dough for all the menu items and, believe me it shows. Everything was fresh and super delicious. Never experienced Italian food as delicious as this at Pino's. Everything we ordered was AMAZING!! I URGE anyone who loves authentic Italian food to stop in at Pino's, you won't be disappointed! New in the area and usually get off work @ 8:30, after Pino's closes but had to shift my hours this week, so! Checked them out while I could. Ordered a Penne Boscaoila to go. After getting there later than it was supposed to be ready, and half an hour in the car while I was doing errands (getting IPA and wine), the pasta was still steaming hot in the middle. Very very tasty, good meatballs, the ham gave it almost a bacon flavor, crisp bits of onion and silky mushrooms. The slices of bread were very good too, even though I didn't have butter or olive oil. All in all, very good - I look forward to going back on the weekends. My only suggestion for improvement would be to at least ask about plasticware when someone is ordering pasta to go; some of us might not have silverware. read more

Only a true Italian can make such delicious food. The ingredients are fresh and mouth-watering. From the best pizza, you will ever have to the pasta: Pasta Del Giorno, Spaghetti Marinara, Spaghetti Bolognese, and Penne Boscaiola, you are in for a treat. There was a time when my daughter was little that she would only eat the food here. She and Pino came up with the pasta pizza and she must have eaten a hundred pies. The specials are the best. We have a vegetarian in the family and Pino came up with a version of Chile Relleno Italian Style. Along with the Foccacciaosa bread, the meal was delicious. The calzones and salads are huge, enough for two people. My favorite is the Tomato and Mozzarella Salad- The cheese is heavenly. This is our local Italian restaurant, the relaxed interior, and the first-class will make you want to come back several times a week. read more

After hearing about this place for several years from my brother we went to the family owned restaurant down the street perfectly nestled away in downtown. I haven't stopped going since, the space is larger than I expected and it is decorated tastefully and very clean!! The owner was greeting customers with the staff in a laid back manner which made me instantly comfortable. After sitting down we were quickly waited on by an exceptional waitress and I ordered a wonderful glass of a white moscato as it was Monday and I earned it. We ordered a classic cheese pizza and the BEST chicken parmigiana sandwich EVER. I've had a lot of parm in my life and this was amazing. The chicken was not breaded and not too thick or hard to bite. I could take a bite and have just the right proportion of cheese, chicken, amazing sauce and the lightest yet crisp bread which made for the best sandwich ever. It was so good but I still tried the pizza and I'm ruined... No other place will ever be like Pinos! I've been back weekly since and look forward to going again soon. I really have to try some of the specials though including some pastas, I did see a few that looked amazing but I can't cheat on my parm.. Absolutely delicious! My fiancé is in the hospital at Barrows neurological institute and Pinos is right across the street so figured we would try it out. Best decision ever, their caprese was outstanding! The margarita pizza was delicious and their cheesecake was honestly one of the best slices of cheesecake I've ever had! We've had pizza, pasta, salads, sandwiches, and dessert there and it's always great! We love the carnivore pizza and the four cheese. Their bolognese and lasagna are delicious. Their salmon is amazing. For dessert, tiramisu or cannolis are good too! Easy place to stop for lunch solo or with someone. Order at the counter during lunch. Servers during dinner. I have been here twice. Both times I have ordered a slice of pizza. Both times they gave me a dripping wet hand cloth instead of pizza. I asked them, why did you give me a drenched blanket? I ordered pizza. They said, that is pizza. I looked at them confused as the object they gave me was the wettest towel I have ever seen. I looked closer at the soaking wet towel and then realized that it wasnt wet with water, but grease. And, it wasn't made of cotton, it was made of cheese and bread. I think the owner of the place is trying to slowly kill one of his customers by serving them pizza that has 2.4 bathtubs of grease on every slice. I don't know which customer they are trying to kill, but I will report this attempted murder to the authorities. Will have an update soon. read more

We have been going to Pino's for years and have always loved the pizza. The crust was perfect and chewy. I am sad to say that when we went tonight, the experience was not pleasant. We ordered a panzanetta salad and a supreme pizza. The salad was good. The pizza was way overdone. Like burnt. We had already started to eat it so we didn't send it back but did mention it to the waiter. He said he would mention it to Pino. There was only one other couple there, so you would think Pino would come out and say something but no. We weren't asking for a free one just a reason why it was over cooked. We will not be going there again. Bad service on Pino's part. Obviously doesn't care about his cistomers. Too bad. read more

I have been coming to this place for years and can only rave about how delicious the food is. Its not uncommon to find the owner sitting at your table for a bit, regaling you with stories of Italy, or boasting about how many of the meats he uses are shipped fresh from Italy. Or how the mozzarella and pasta are made daily by hand. And oh man, you can tell. The place may not look like much from the outside, but the cozy and comfortable inside makes you almost feel transported to Italy itself. When you're seated, you're enticed with the daily specials; each one sounding more delicious than the last. The pork chop in gorgonzola sauce is by far the best, and its so large you'll have plenty for later! Their pizza is thin and greasy, with fresh mozzarella and delicious house made sauce full of tomatoes thats clearly been simmered with some type of meat. I'm usually not a fan of any marinara sauce, but this one I could drink. I would buy it by the jar if they sold it lol. My usual go to is their calzones though, which are gigantic and topped with more delicious cheese, pepperonies (I always get their pepperoni calzone) and a tiny amount of spinach. They're not overtly stuffed which I think is a shame but they're filled with large and small pepperonies and plenty of cheese. They give you the same sauce thats on their pizza, which as I've stated is basically addictive so none goes to waste...though its definitely gone to MY waist... My one complaint is that when I found this place everything was very moderately priced, even their house specials were less than 15$ a plate. Now they're over 30$ and even the calzones which were less than 10$ are now closer to 13$. I used to order take out so often that they recognized our names and memorized our order but since the price increase we rarely order from here anymore. I would still definitely suggest this place to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Italian food in an intimate yet casual environment. Plus the calzones are by far the best in town (since 4 brothers closed years ago) and especially the best downtown. read more
