Weekday dinner, able to get a table for 5 easily. The waitress suggested 2 appetizers and 3 Pinsa which was plenty to share. The Pinsa range from $18 - $24. Food came quickly. Truffle fries were delicious and great sharing portion. Bruschetta was a bit small, $12 for two pieces of bread. Order contains classic margarita, prosciutto, and truffle cheek. My favorite was the prosciutto with burrata, good balance of meat and veggie. Dessert is their style of beignets, but less sweet. Overall, a great place to dine in. read more

Squash blossoms were the first to come, it was little oily, either the dough was not right or the temperature of the oil when fried. Oil was the first taste you sense. Decent food, but some service issues I made a reservation for 5:30 PM on Saturday and arrived around 5:15 PM. We were seated early, which turned out to be during happy hour, so we were able to take advantage of that. Service: The hostess and staff were very welcoming and attentive overall. That said, I did feel they rushd the table. While I appreciate efficient food preparation, I don't enjoy feeling like dishes are being pushed out as quickly as possible, followed by staff hovering to immediately clear plates. If I order several small plates, the kitchen should ideally pace them accordingly. I wasn't there to eat quickly, and with a small table for two, having multiple plates arrive at once forces you to manage everything comfortably. The kitchen could improve on this. There was also an issue with one of the pizzas. I had misread the toppings on the La Mortazza and didn't realize it contained pork, which I don't eat. The pizza arrived about 10 minutes after happy hour had ended. I immediately brought it to the staff's attention and asked if I could exchange it for something else. The response I received verbatim was, "I can take it off, but happy hour is over." I found that to be a very poor way to handle the situation. There were several better ways this could have been handled. At minimum, the staff could have offered to bring me the menu so I could choose another item, and then explained that since happy hour had ended, I would need to select something from the regular menu. I would have been completely fine with that. Instead, the response came across as dismissive and left a bad impression. Food Insalate Heirloom Tomatoes Caprese: Delicious Small Plates Arancini: These were a miss for me. They were heavy and without a marinara or other dipping sauce, they felt a little dry and one-dimensional. A side of marinara would have helped cut through the richness. Bruschetta di Burrata: Pretty standard bruschetta, nothing particularly wrong with it, but I don't think the portion offers much value. You get only two pieces, and given that it's essentially bread with a few toppings, I'd either skip it or they should increase the portion by another 1or 2 pieces. Stuffed Squash Blossoms: These were heavily stuffed with cheese, to the point where the cheese overpowered the squash blossom itself. I also didn't think the pesto sauce paired well with the dish. A lighter filling a would let the squash blossom come through more. Chicken Parmigiana: This was my favorite of the small plates. Good overall flavor and something I'd recommend ordering. Mini Pinsa Margherita: Really good, simple, fresh, and well balanced. The San Marzano tomato, mozzarella, and fresh basil worked really well together. The crust had a nice texture and didn't feel overly heavy. Definitely recommended Heavenly Mushrooms: This was my favorite of the two. The combination of seasonal mushrooms, roasted garlic, red onion, pecorino, and herbs gave it a lot more depth and flavor without becoming too heavy. I think the pizza (well, technically Pinsa but this is really like a somewhat thick and fluffy pizza so I'll call it a pizza and compare it to pizzas) is not bad. Tried the Gorgonzola, Truffle Cheeks, La Mortazza, and Summer Crush. The flavors can be unique. I don't see fruit often as a topping, but I think they did it well here. The Gorgonzola is really funky, but the pear really balances the funk well but I wish there were more pears. Summer Crush is also pretty good. La Mortazza was my personal favorite. I'm not a crust enjoyer. I thought there was a bit too much crust on some pieces. This is a 4 star because while it was good, I thought it was just maybe a bit above average. As with most other places in SF, parking is limited street parking in the area. They recently won #1 pinsa in the US so I was curious to check it out. Interior is cozy but not too spacious. Fries Al Tartufo: These were crispy, and I loved the black truffle salt and parmesan which made them fragrant and hard to stop eating. I absolutely love me a weekend happy hour- especially one with a pretty full food and drink menu. They have daily happy hour from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Everything on the happy hour menu is nine dollars including house wines, starters, and an array of personal pizzas. From the happy hour alone, I had a glass of Prosecco, a Burrata and bread dish, and we tried three different types of their personal pizzas which were all a decent size. I hate how usually even artisanal pizza, there is a floppy center, and loved how well the entire pizza here holds up and is the perfect amount of crisp throughout. A generous portion as well for nine dollars. They also have some dessert items on the happy hour menu, which we didn't get to try. All three pizzas we had were really flavorful. We enjoyed the pepperoni and sausage pizza, the mushroom pizza, and the pesto and potato pizza. The only thing I ordered from the regular menu was the beet salad - personally I like that it was mainly beets with a small amount of arugula; sprinkled with goat cheese My husband appreciated that almost other beers were local beers on tap, though not included on the happy hour menu. Walking from the Ferry Building to Pac Heights while pushing a 20lb dog in a stroller up those steep hills calls for a carbo-liscious meal. And I knew the pizzas at Pinsa Rosa would get the job done. We first started with the caprese, which had an award winning burrata. It was so refreshing! The tomatoes were juicy and sweet. The burrata was creamy, and the balsamic added a tangy finish. The broccolini was roasted perfectly, with its smoky notes complementing the lemony dressing and garlic confit. As for the pizza, we opted for the cacio e pepe tartufata, which is under their pinsa blanca menu. It had the flavors of a cacio e pepe pasta, with its pecorino cream and black pepper. And the black truffles added a rich umami flavor. Despite these strong flavors, they all balanced out with not one overpowering the other. It was delicious! And the pinsa dough was light and airy, with a golden brown crust that gave a satisfying bite. Pinsa Rossa is one of my favorite places to eat in Pac Heights.
