We have been such longtime fans of Pink Onion. Their Wednesday deal (though it's gone up in price over the years) is sooo worth the money. We're always able to snag a table/bar seats for 2 on Wednesday evenings. Be warned, the place is loud and packed but service is good, and we don't usually have to wait too long for our food. Our go-to selections for the Combo Meal are: Parma E Burrata plate (sweet, salty, fresh), Pasta Tartufo (truffle pasta that is to die for), Pink Alarm Fire (classic), tiramisu, and white wine. I always leave Pink Onion very satisfied and eager to return!
I think the Wednesday dinner deal is a great bang for your buck. Comes with app/salad, pasta, pizza, desert, and bottle of wine. This is a lot for $60. The service has good timing for each and the inside is a cute little space with a bit of a grungy feel that I dig. Got the seasonal salad, steamed mussels, vodka sauce pasta, Brock purdy, tiramisu, and a bottle of white for 3 people. My favorite item was the pasta, little on the creamier side for my taste though, (I like a tomatoooos a lot). The Brock purdy was a great square pizza. I would definitely come back to get another $60 dinner deal.
Walked in at 4pm on a Friday right when they opened! No reservation, no problem. They seated us immediately, which was a great start. If you don't have a reservation, I recommend getting there early because the restaurant is small and has limited seating. The menu is refreshingly straightforward, and the $60 combo is absolutely the move: appetizer or salad, pasta, pizza, and dessert. We both ordered it without realizing we didn't have to but honestly, no regrets. We left with leftovers and full hearts. For the price, the portions are genuinely shocking in the best way. Service was friendly and fast throughout. No long waits, no awkward gaps, just a really smooth, enjoyable meal from start to finish. Here's everything we tried: Pink Onion Salad: Don't let the simplicity of "salad" fool you. This thing was massive and packed with great ingredients: romaine, goat cheese, toasted pecans, currants, fresh berries, and a blood orange vinaigrette that hit the perfect balance of tangy and sweet. A great way to start. Rigatoni Vodka: The undeniable star of the table. Nearly everyone around us had it, and one look at the photos online and I knew I had to order it -- no regrets. Super creamy with a subtle kick of spice that sneaks up on you in the best way. The portion was enormous. Get this! Rigatoni Amatriciana: Perfectly salted thanks to the guanciale, with a satisfying texture and pasta cooked to perfection. A more classic, comforting option that delivered on every level. Gotham Pizza: My personal favorite of the two pizzas. It's essentially a elevated pepperoni pizza, and the hot honey drizzle takes it somewhere unexpected and delicious. Simple but memorable. Magic Mushroom Pizza: Loaded with prosciutto and incredibly flavorful. This one was clearly popular -- we kept seeing it come out of the kitchen for tables around us, and for good reason. Tiramisu & Basque Cheesecake: Both desserts are generous enough to share between two people. The basque cheesecake was great, but the tiramisu was the standout! Perfectly sweet and less bitter than most, which is a hard balance to get right. Overall, an incredible value and a really enjoyable experience. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu, though the Rigatoni Vodka might just be a permanent order every time.
Came here for dinner on monday and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience. The place was severely understaffed, which led to very slow service and a server who kept forgetting our basic requests - we had to ask for bread five times before it ever showed up and ended up asking someone else for it to arrive at our table. We were seated outside only to find that the patio heaters were out of gas, leaving us freezing the entire meal with no warning. As for the food, it was just okay. The mussels were soo fishy and didn't taste fresh, and the crust on the pizza was way too thick for our liking. None of the dishes we chose was memorable, the truffle pasta was pretty solid but standard and nothing to write home about.

Heads up, reservations are a good idea we just so happened to slip in before the rush and got a table quickly. We ordered the $60 deal that comes with 1 appetizer or salad, 1 pasta, 1 pizza & 1 dessert & (on Wednesdays they add a bottle of wine to the deal). We went on a Tuesday so no wine, but the food was - absolutely phenomenal. The menu was overwhelming at how many delicious options they had. We went with the Pear Endive Salad that came with Endives, pears, gorgonzola cheese, candied pecans & balsamic dressing, Pasta Tartufo which had parmesan truffle cream & I requested to substitute with Rigatoni pasta, Gotham Pizza which had pepperoni, sausage, ricotta, & Mikes hot honey & the Tiramisu for desserts. 10/10 will definitely be coming back !
First time at pink onion and it did not disappoint. All for the dished were great except the steamed mussels. While the flavor of the mussel broth was very unique we were thrown back by how many pieces of mussels that were not cleaned properly. A lot of them still had the beard attached making them hard to eat. We came on a Monday and they weren't crazy busy so we felt comfortable and not rushed with our meal. I didn't see my friend in a while so it was nice to catch up. Service was attentive and friendly.
Pink Onion delivers on classic Italian flavor. Located in the lively Mission district in SF, Pink Onion offers a solid blend of Italian dishes in a comfortable, fast-casual setting. First, our service was great. Our waitress was really attentive and gave us a lot of information regarding the menu. A couple of my friends and I split the Combo Meal. Consisting of 1 pizza, 1 appetizer, 1 pasta, 1 dessert and 1 bottle of wine (only on Wednesday's! We went on Thursday). The food was absolutely delicious- and for the price: undeniabley worth it. First, the bread for the table was warm and fresh. The appetizer we chose were the Sicilian Meatballs. The meat was tender and the sauce was savory- with hints of rosemary. For pasta, we got the Pasta Al Tartufo. The creaminess of the parmesan cheese with the earthiness of the truffle shavings was delicious. For pizza, we opted for the Hotboy. Which is crushed tomato, fresh mozzarella. mikes hot honey and spicy sopresatta. It was fresh and the hot honey complimented the peppery sopresatta nicely. Lastly, we ordered the tiramisu for dessert. It was light, fluffy and had a decadent coffee-vanilla flavor, also ... the portion size was massive! So worth it. Pink Onion is amazing and I can't wait to go back.
Pink Onion Overall: 4.4/5 Pretty good spot to go to for pizza and pasta and the portions are great for the price. Shared the combo meal between 2 and it was plenty. Definitely will be waiting, it's a small place and was quite busy for a Monday night. I imagine the lines would get quite long on Wednesday for the free wine bottle with the combo. We got the mussels for the appetizer, pasta tartufo, soprasetta pizza and tiramisu for dessert. Mussels were very meaty with a nice white wine sauce. Pasta was good, creamy but very overpowered by truffle flavor. Pizza was excellent with a great crust and dough, and the soprasetta and fresh mozzarella were excellent. Tiramisu desert was about average. Not a super strong coffee or chocolate flavor either way. Food was overall good but service was a bit of a let down. Took a while to get our order in and we were not checked in on until near the end of our meal. Had to wait a while for water to be refilled. Granted, it was busy and they have to deal with online orders as well.
This place is such a vibe!!!! Very small restaurant and intimate table settings - can get pretty loud and it was admittedly pretty hard to hear each other but over the noise. But I liked how it gave off a very neighborhood comfy cozy feel. Gabe is the best! So attentive and gave us great suggestions from the menu. We really enjoyed the parma and burrata app and the nayalita pizza was SO good. Truffle pasta was delicious but very rich. Really nice thickness and chewiness of the crust. The complementary bread was also surprisingly delicious! It had a great chew. Can't go wrong with either the tiramisu or cheesecake. Both were great, just depends on what you're feeling. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Def try to go on a Wednesday - everything goes so much better with a bottle of wine:)
Cute small restaurant, we came at 4:30 on a Saturday and we got seated right away before the dinner rush. I recommend coming a little earlier to beat the crowds and to not wait in line as it is a small restaurant with not too many seating. They gave complimentary bread and for drinks we tired the rose, italian white, and the mango cider. All three drinks were great! We got the pink fire alarm pizza which was good, it was like a pepperoni pizza elevated with red onions and it was good! We also shared the pasta tartufo, which we got influenced to get because the smell of the truffle from a nearby table smelled so good! Highly recommend getting that pasta as well!
For the combo price at Pink Onion, this place is so worth it to come to. At $60, you can get a small pizza, pasta, appetizer or salad, and a dessert. It might not seem like a lot of food, but I've come here twice and it can comfortably feed 3 people! Last time, we were so full that we even took the dessert to go. If you also come on Wednesday, you get a free bottle of wine with the combo. When you come in, they give you some complimentary bread to eat with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We tried the pear and endive salad, patataccia pizza, and tartufo pasta, which were all delicious. The tartufo pasta was our favorite and we were using the truffle sauce for our pizza too. I've had the tiramisu and basque cheesecake desserts, which were both great. I bumped this review up to 5 stars because the service was so great. I went with a friend with a food allergy and they really went out of their way to check that everything was safe and offered to sub anything that didn't work. Definitely recommend coming here, but also be mindful of the area because it's not in the safest neighborhood!
Came for the food, stayed longer than I should have for the sweetest staff!! A friend and I were craving carbs and decided on Pink Onion on a Saturday night. We were seated at the bar and had the best service from Gabe!! He was super friendly and outgoing, and he made sure we were consistently taken care of. To share, we ordered the Cesar salad, vodka pasta, pesto pizza, and a tiramisu. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the pizza was super tasty. Street parking is a little crazy and the interior is quite cozy. Seating available outside as well. Def will be back for the food! And big shout out to Gabe :))
Pink Onion puts a refreshing spin on classic pasta dishes. I tried the pesto pasta and I really enjoyed the nutty taste from the pistachio - super unique to me. The mussel pasta looked like it would be creamy but it was a refreshing citrus sauce. The mussels were also fresh; nothing like the frozen mussels I usually find in my seafood pastas. Next time I'll come with an emptier stomach so I can get the combo deal.

Small but lively ambiance inside. Whoever is on aux usually kills it. Great vibes and can't beat the $60 deal that they offer (Pizza, Pasta, App, Dessert for $60) Food: App: Avocado Salad is the only one I've had, I just keep getting it. It hits crazy if you are into balsamic glaze. Rigatoni vodka is a safe delicious option and won't disappoint. I'm looking forward to trying the pesto or truffle pasta next time. For pizza, I've had the Ike on fire and Patatacia. Both tasted incredibly fresh with the dough being noticeably fluffy/soft. And the servers are all really friendly and accommodating when it comes to the menu and wait time. There is typically a wait so get a quick reservation online before you go. read more
Incredible ambiance, great vibes inside. They played indie music which was so fun. Didn't have a reservation when they opened on Saturday but still got a table in the corner. Staff are friendly and attentive, but also let us enjoy our own company., the right amount of service. The food is so good. -The truffle pasta tartufo blew me away. It was so creamy and wasn't overpowering with the truffle flavor. I think that was my favorite. -Brock Purdy pizza was fresh with the tomato sauce and ricotta. I always see a line out the door of this small restaurant so when I was craving italian food, I ordered deliver from this place I got the pesto / pistachio pizza which may have been the best pizza ive ever had from an italian restaurant. the flavors were so savory and tasty omg i'd go back just for that! we also got a truffle pasta. when they say truffle, they are not playing around. my whole house smelled like truffle after I was done eating, I loved it though. great food, next time I definitely want to dine in read more
Awesome little date spot for our anniversary! They accommodated us without a reservation and we really enjoyed the food -- 1 small pizza is 6 slices so would have been enough for the two of us, but was not mad at the leftovers. Got the cesar salad too which was very delicious! Great dressing and you can tell the croutons are made in house. This has been on my list for awhile and did not disappoint read more

Really cute spot, fairly small - even with a reservation we still had to wait for around 15 minutes for a table on a Tuesday evening (though the host was very apologetic and offered us free wine for while we waited). I like the interior art, but the inside is a little cramped and loud. We went for the $60 deal - one appetizer, pizza, pasta, and dessert - which was very much worth it: I was expecting small portions due to the cost but split between two people we both went home feeling very full and with enough leftovers for a solid one person meal. Starting off with the prosciutto and burrata plate, which was much larger than expected (though there's not a lot of burrata in proportion to everything else in the bowl). The candied pear in it was especially good. The pizza (Tyson punch out) was decent but nothing special. The vodka pasta was a standout, really creamy and flavorful and the pasta itself had a very nice al dente texture. For dessert we got the tiramisu which comes in a plastic takeout container - was also good, there seemed to be more cream/filling than cake but I enjoyed it. Would definitely come here again to try more of the menu especially because of how good the deal is, but wouldn't come without a reservation. read more

The tastes from this restaurant linger as I write this review after my first time here. We arrived for their Wednesday deal-icious combo with the included bottle of wine ---- We ordered the mussels, pasta tortufo, Ikes pizza (the hot version), tiramisu, with their pre-selected red wine, and added the pink onion salad. EVERYTHING tasted phenomenal. Each worker appeared very focused on their task at hand, and the person who took our order was very accommodating to our requests. The vibe is understandably busy with music I was attempting to Shazam for most of our meal. I am so grateful we chose this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion here.... and am already looking forward to the next time I get to eat here! read more
We ordered takeout and tried their Magic Mushroom Pizza, Patataccia Pizza, and Parma E Burrata Plate. Parma E Burrata Plate came with Prosciutto di parma, burrata, arugula, candied pear, cherry tomato, and aged balsamic. The aged balsamic tasted amazing, sweet and tangy, but not overpowering. It paired well with all the ingredients. The Magic Mushroom Pizza was made with an olive oil base, mozzarella, tomato sauce, crimini mushrooms, black pepper, truffle oil, and prosciutto. It was really delicious. Even with the truffle oil and prosciutto, the flavor was not overwhelming and stayed nicely balanced. The Patataccia Pizza came with Olive oil base, mozzarella, potatoes, scallions, garlic, mild calabrese peppers, and ricotta. One thing I liked was the sliced potatoes, which added an interesting texture. I would highly recommend trying this pizza. read more
SO GOOD! We came on a weeknight and somehow got in with a table for two. Great service! Love the art wall. Such a fun atmosphere. Had a glass of the house pinot Noir and it was delicious. We got the barutta appetizer whiched seemed to be more of a salad. It was amazing with fresh and dried fruit, arugula and prosciutto. Still craving it. We also got a Cesar salad, it was really good. Then we shared the pasta Bolognese. Definitely enough to share. It's a thinner sauce that I'm used to but full of flavor. Wish they had a side door for the grub hub pickup's though. The constant door opening by masked, helmeted motorists was distracting from our amazing meal. They tried to keep them outside waiting but it was still a constant presence. Service 5/5 We have been here multiple times now and the service is ALWAYS outstanding. Gabe is the man! Ambiance 5/5 This is a cozy little restaurant and the vibe is always cool. Subtle music playing in the background and they have 2 tvs that are on with some type of sports playing. Food 5/5 We have tried multiple dishes here and you cannot go wrong with whatever you pick. Vodka pasta is one of our favorites as well as the mushroom pizza. Yummy! I can't find all my pics for this spot but trust me and know you will enjoy this place. First time here and it was a bit confusing. There's no host stand and there were a bunch of people waiting for their to go orders outside. The host/server couldn't tell if we were waiting for togo or trying to get seated :/ I wish there was a better process of splitting up people who wanted to do walk-in's/reservations into one area and togo/doordash/uber eats into another area. We did come here on a Saturday night around 6pm with no reservation. It is a very small restaurant with a few tables inside, bar seating, and outside seating. I went inside to let the server know we were doing a walk in and quickly got seated inside at the bar. We ordered the caesar salad (5/5) , mexicano pizza (5/5) and tiramisu (4/5)! I liked that they gave us free bread :) Would come back with a reservation next time and would love to try out their pastas as well! read more
I decided to order takeout from Pink Onion through Yelp since I've never tried this place before. I ordered it around 5pm on a Wednesday and got it an hour later. Anyways, I ordered the Rigatoni with Vodka Sauce and the Side Meatballs. I loved how the pasta noodles still had a chew to it and also liked how the sauce tasted kinda cheesy. They added A LOT of sauce for the pasta, which I was ok with because I can use the remaining sauce for other meals. The side meatballs are also really good and each meatball is huge and was in a bunch of sauce too! I'd recommend this place! One of the best hidden gems in SF!! Came for the Wednesday combo deal, and this is a STEAL, you get an appetizer/salad, pasta, pizza, dessert, and free bottle of wine for $65!! I recommend coming early if you don't have a reservation though, since the actual space is quite small and there is limited outdoor seating. The burrata plate is the perfect starter course and paired really well with the tableside bread. The truffle tartufo pasta was absolutely incredible, super creamy and delicious. All their pizzas looked great so it was hard to pick, but we went with the magic mushroom so the tomato base would balance the creamy pasta. And just when we thought we were full.... Who can say no to a tub of tiramisu!! Everything was seasoned well, super filling and overall worth the price. Between 3 people we polished off the entire meal with no leftovers (including the bottle of wine!!) Will definitely be bringing more people to show off this deal to! read more
Pink Onion in SF is by far one of my favorite hidden gems for a night out or date night. It's a smaller spot with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the ambiance is warm, cozy, and a little on the darker side which makes it feel really intimate. One thing that really stands out is the staff. They're not only nice but also really funny and love to engage with customers, which makes the whole experience feel more personal and memorable. I always go for the combo meal, and it's honestly such a good deal. It can feed about 3-4 people depending on how hungry you are, but even when I go with just one other person, we always end up with leftovers. The portion sizes are super generous, which I love. The combo comes with an appetizer or salad, a pasta, a pizza, and a dessert for $60, which feels very worth it for the amount and quality of food. If you go on Wednesdays, they even include a free complimentary bottle, which makes it an even better deal. We got the mussels, Pasta Tartufo, Rigatoni Vodka, the Ike pizza, and tiramisu, and everything was so good. The mussels were flavorful and cooked perfectly, soaking up all the sauce. The Pasta Tartufo had a rich, creamy texture with a deep truffle flavor that made it really indulgent, while the Rigatoni Vodka was smooth, slightly tangy, and super comforting. The Ike pizza had a great crust with the perfect balance of crisp and chew, and the toppings all worked really well together. The tiramisu was the perfect way to end the meal, light, creamy, and not too sweet. I love coming back here to try different pastas and especially their pizza selection, since they have so many options and every one I've tried has been consistently good. We came for Pink Onion's Wednesday Deal and honestly, for $60 you really can't beat it. The deal includes an appetizer, pizza, pasta, a whole bottle of wine, and dessert...such a crazy good value. We made reservations two weeks in advance and were one of the first groups seated (there were only two other tables when we arrived). Even then, the service was a little on the slower side, but nothing terrible just something to be aware of. The food itself was really solid for the price. The meatballs were tender, the seafood spaghetti came loaded with mussels, and the pepperoni pizza had that perfect crispy-edged cup pepperoni situation going on. The wine included in the deal is from a small, pre-selected list, so don't expect options from their full menu, but it still paired well with everything. The tiramisu at the end was a nice touch too. Overall, we had a good experience and loved trying out this special definitely worth doing at least once, but probably not a weekly thing. For the price and amount of food you get, it's a great mid-week treat and a fun date night if you plan ahead and snag a reservation. read more

Came here for the Wednesday deal and boy it was one heck of a deal! We got an appetizer, two entrees, dessert and a bottle of wine for only $60! I wasn't expecting too much since it's pretty cheap but the pesto pasta was sooo delicious and pasta was perfectly cooked. The caesar salad was one of the best I've had and pizza was great! The waiter recommended that the combo (small pizza, pasta, appy, dessert) is ideal for 3 to share. Since we had a group of 5, we got the combo and added a salad and large pizza too. Everything was presented amazing and although we sat outside, the pasta and pizza stayed warm! The vodka pasta and Caesar salad are a must-try. Pizzas we got: the Magic Mushroom and Gotham! This deal can definitely feed 3 people, so keep that in mind when you come/ order! Also if you come on a Wednesday, or any night for that matter, I would highly recommend coming later in the night. I had a 9:15pm reservation so that basically meant we were a part of the last seating, and we were not being rushed off our table. It was nice to be able to take our time enjoying our food and chatting with the servers, Nate and Gabe. By that point in the night, the music is going, people are tipsy, and the restaurant becomes a mini wine bar/ night club! I genuinely only have good things to say about my experience here. Food was incredible we came for a Wednesday night and to our surprise they had their deal going on! The deal was 1 pizza, 1 salad or appetizer, 1 bottle of wine, 1 pizza and 1 dessert for 60 dollars! Really impressed with the deal and it was a lot of good food! The wait time was probably the biggest complaint that night but it was to be expected when running a deal this good! We waited over an hour to be seated. The ambiance was nice, music and vibes were flowing and it was a nice chill night in the city! Would recommend to anyone in the SF area just make sure you make reservations! read more
