This little neighborhood cafe was bright and open. Our server was friendly and attentive. But the definite highlight is the food! Everything we ordered was very tasty and enjoyable. We can't wait to return.

Been here before for brunch and decided to come for dinner too. We tried the pasta flight to get a bit of variety (it is single portion per person). I did really enjoy the pesto, but as a vegetarian I took home the chicken option for someone else to enjoy. The lasagne was interesting, crunchy in texture, which wasn't my favourite. It was quite busy and loud for a weekday. Overall I think I wouldn't go for the pasta flight again, it was just ok to me and the portions were not that big.

I tried to give a Mano another try after my last review and am done with it. We went for sf restaurant week and had booked a reservation specifically labeled as sf restaurant week but then we were told they weren't doing it. I saw another group have the same issue. We would have gone somewhere else that was doing a deal had we know. The service continues to not be good and you can get better Italian food elsewhere.

Came here for Saturday brunch. Started with the cauliflower. It was fresh, and the sauce had a nice saltiness to it. Got both the margherita and funghi pizzas. The margherita was fine but was a bit flat on flavor. The funghi had a rich, earthy mushroom flavor with a great amount of oil. Dessert was the Nutella sundae and it was genuinely one of the better desserts I've had in a while. Soft ice cream, sweet, and the mascarpone added the crunch. Didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised. Outdoor seating was chill. Staff was attentive and friendly, kept the waters topped off.

Casual and relaxing vibes with tasty pizzas and refreshing drinks. Love the bright open air inside/outside feel of the place and the excellent service.

Busy week night and it was packed. Glad we had a reservation. I did find that the tables were very small which made it really feel cramped. Appetizers were all delicious. I do wonder why they serve an order of three meatballs for two people. Never makes sense to me. Mushroom pizza was perfect.

A Mano is a super delicious Italian spot! we came for brunch on a Saturday, and everything was so flavorful and balanced. My favorite dishes were the cauliflower, the belfiore burrata salad, and the tagliatelle. The pistachio gelato was a good dessert to end off the meal. Also, a Mano is reasonably priced compared to other restaurants that serve similar things.

Went here on Christmas Eve before the Gay Men's Chorus. Loved the lively vibe and festive spirit. Everything I had was just right for the evening. Citrus Marinated Castelvetrano Olives: I'm normally quite blasé when it comes to olives. However, these got my attention. The citrus peel tang did a great job complementing the olive bitterness. Surprisingly, I ended up being the person at the table who ate the most of these. Cauliflower: Nice marinated and browned. Way better than raw or stream cauliflower. Focaccia: Fluffy with slightly crispy edges. It was alright in the olive oil and vinegar, but amazing with the leftover marinara that came with the meatballs. Ricotta Meatballs: Pure comfort. Not fancy, but really hits the spot. Dense, meaty, nice sauce. Only issue is that the crostini was a bit too charred. Margherita Pizza w/ Prosciutto: Fresh dough, fresh sauce, fresh cheese. Hot out the oven. Way better than delivery. The prosciutto was thick and cooked slightly and added a hearty porky goodness. Tagliatelle: Was hoping this would have more red sauce. But what it lacked in tomato, it made up in delicious meat. Loved the fresh al dente pasta as a vehicle to enjoy this amazing sauce. Buttermilk Panna Cotta: The combination of rich milky panna cotta and citrusy marmalade was perfect. In a way, it's kinda like a bookended meal with citrus.

From the service to the beautiful Italian food, a Mano has been knocking it out the park for years now. I finally ate here with a friend before a show! We decided to share the barata Salad with beets and a margarita pizza, accompanied by some nice small pours of Barbara wine to compliment our food. We also ordered pasta dish and shared everything making it plenty to share or eat separately. Ended the dinner with a tasty Cappuccino using Oakland's finest coffee bean, Mr. Espresso! This is a good spot to take a best friend, date night spot, classy dinner with SF and Italian vibes, and it's Hayes valley so you already know what to expect on the price. Ciao!

I loved the duck liver mousse here. Would just come back for the duck liver mousse. 5 stars for just the duck liver mousse! Besides that, the mushroom pizza was really good too. We also ordered a few different pastas, all were decent, but the one with ribs was not very flavorful. Overall though still really good food for a decently reasonable price. So 5 stars!

Love it here! The vibes emulate an old fashioned pizza place with rustic classy decor! The service was great (the both times I've been). The clear out any plates you need to almost immediately. I don't remember music playing but it might've played lightly mixed in with the conversations folks were having. It is pretty tight when it comes to seating but walking wise, it seemed fine 9/10 focaccia. Sooo yummy and fluffy! I wish they put the olive oil and balsamic vinegar on a flatter dish because I was mostly getting oil at the beginning and then the strong balsamic vinegar only at the end. Wish there more pieces! 4/10 cod. It was a bit salty and rubbery :( but the beans and sauce were delicious. 9/10 pumpkin rigatoni. Oh I wish there were more than I can count! The sweetness of the pumpkin paired so nicely with the umami of the butter sauce! 10/10 espresso martini. There was an espresso martini in Hawaii that has been on top of my list and no espresso martini could come near it. THIS espresso martini was almost exactly like my favorite one. The richness of the espresso was present without the alcohol taking over. Loved it so much. The foam was also nice and thick! 3/10 Nutella sundae. Flavor lacking honestly. Both the ice cream and the chocolate sauce. Still enjoyed it but wish I got a different dessert.

A very enjoyable dinner experience. I visited on a Sunday night, and it was absolutely packed. Luckily, there is plenty of seating both inside and outside, so my party of two was seated immediately. The interior is chic and modern. I love that you can see into the kitchen - it's really fun to see dishes being made. There was a lively atmosphere, with plenty of chatter. The service was unremarkable. It was understandably slow since there were so many customers. I only tried one dish here, and it was stellar. It was so good that I am itching to come back and try more food! I ordered the tagliatelle alla bolognese. The pasta was absolutely divine. It tasted so incredibly fresh, with a rich, eggy taste to each noodle. It was also cooked so well, with a slight chew. The noodles really stole the show, but the sauce was also memorable. The meat sauce was rich and savory, coating every noodle and making each bite taste so flavorful. This seems like a special occasion restaurant due to the steep prices. I enjoyed my meal so much and can't wait to visit again!

I just had a pretty amazing dinner here at this restaurant. I specifically chose this restaurant because it was a 8 minute walk from my apartment. The spaghetti was amazing and the clams were excellent. Dessert was perfect too. The service was very friendly and the ambiance of the restaurant was very cool! I can see myself coming back here someday! I give them 5 stars

Does anyone recall the creamery for their gelato? If I am recollecting correctly, they are sourced form a local creamery.

Are seats outside harder to get than indoor ones? Are there any seats that are first come first serve?

On a nice sunny day the outdoor seating was full when we arrived. We sat at a table by the open windows. The food is so good!

Is there any vegan pizza/pasta choices there?

Everything is made fresh they should be able to accommodate. The menu changes weekly so calling is a better option.

Does A Mano offer GF pasta?

Unfortunately no. The only GF options are the " special" which is usually the ossobuco. All salads and some appetizers ( squid, cauliflower, olives) are Gluten Free

Do they take reservations for large parties?

No reservations available. You can get there early to put your name down while your group arrives. I wouldn't recommend a group larger than 4-5. The restaurant doesn't seem to have the space for larger groups...it's pretty crowded space wise

We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

I first got the namesake cocktail: Blind Pig. It was incredibly well-balanced, and the flame presentation upon arrival was an epic mini show. Later during last call, I decided to risk it all and roll the dice to order from the secret menu. I rolled a 5, which got me a wine & Japanese beer concoction with Sichuan peppercorn. Totally feel like this cocktail was made for me, as I rep the 川渝 region. The drink was strong, but that made it all the better. Seeing that it was named one of the top 50 best bars in North American, we had to check it out! We came in a Thursday night in mid-April about 9:45 PM. They have security outside thar checks IDs & also manages the queue in case the bar gets too crowded. We had no issues getting in, but there were zero indoor seats available - both the bar & table seating. Thankfully, they have a really cozy & well-lit patio area. The waitress let us know that even the outdoor patio has table-side service, so we made ourselves comfortable on the outdoor bench & within seconds she had brought us waters & cocktail menus. Weather outside was really nice, so I'm glad we actually sat outside. Each cocktail is $20, which definitely is a little steep, but I think the creativity, quality, & prestige of being named a top 50 bar supports the price. Each part of the menu is organized by liquor ie whiskey, vodka, brandy, gin, etc. We tried 4 drinks total. I only took menu photos of the pages we ordered from but they have a lot more selections. We ordered the Kung Fu Pandan, Silky Street, Rice Rice Baby, & Tropical Gangsta. We had some favorites over others, but all were very well crafted! The drinks came out pretty quickly considering how busy it was. The only hiccup was our final drink took quite a while. Turns out the ticket machine malfunctioned & deleted orders put in & caused a back-up. The waitress was so apologetic & ended up comp-ing 2 drinks, which she definitely didn't have to but it speaks volumes to the high standards they hold themselves to & their customer service. Overall, highly highly recommend checking this place out for a fun night out or post-dinner treat! Glad we made the decision to stop in!

Once it was 11pm, the bouncer started to let everybody in, so I'm guessing they only let people inside every 30 minutes to prevent overcrowding, even though once we got in it wasn't that crowded and there was plenty of open space outside too. Having to wait only gave us about an hour inside. It says they close at 12am and that is exactly when they close--you can't stay any longer than that. I'm used to bars typically staying open about 30 minutes to an hour after the listed closing time to allow customers inside to finish up. As soon as 12am hits, the bouncer starts going around and constantly telling you to hurry it up because they are closed now. The service was also pretty slow, which did not give us much time at all to sip and enjoy the drinks before they closed. We started off ordering two drinks, then our waiter came back about 10 minutes later and asked for last call so we ordered another one (this was before our two drinks even came out yet). After about 15 minutes, we got all three drinks and the waiter apologized and said he didn't charge us for the third drink since it took so long. This gave us only about 10-15 minutes to finish our drinks before we started to get told we had to leave. At least my drink (apple bottom beets) was good and I was able to chug it, but I would rather be able to take my time and enjoy a drink. Their menu is huge, and they have a wide selection of different cocktails categorized under which type of liquor is used (rum, agave, brandy). The ambiance is dark and romantic.

I have to preface my review by stating I absolutely adore Catholic art, antiques, relics and such,…read moreso this definitely influenced my decision to check this place out; but I am beyond happy that my curiosity led me here. The ambiance was perfect for a nightcap. I visited Holy Water with relatives who live in the area but hadn't visited the place themselves before. Drinks we ordered include: * Mexican Firing Squad - Our favorite of all. We are classic paloma cocktail lovers, and this drink provided everything we enjoy in a paloma and more. Tart, smooth, and all-around divine. * Southern Exposure - The celery in this really awakens the senses. Very refreshing. * Zombie - Boldest drink we've tried yet. Haunted us the remainder of the night (in a good way). * Poinsettia - Wish this wasn't just a holiday menu item. It's fabulous. * Caribbean Snow Day - The playful kid's cup this came served in had us fooled. This eggnog sure packed a punch. Can't wait to be back and check out what other rotating or seasonal drinks they provide. Lastly, major shout out to the hard-working bartender last night who provided kind, prompt and attentive service on top of greeting all patrons coming in, taking orders and bussing tables. You rock!

This place had a nice chill vibe despite being crazy busy. We were still able to find some decent seats and bask in the glow of good old JC. The place almost had a hall in the wall vibe with the twinkle lights but still boasted an impressive selection of drinks. Despite how busy it was, the staff was super friendly and bartenders were moving fast through the requests. Sometime at a bar you can feel ignored but it was not like that here. Cellphone signal is not great but they have wifi inside as well.

Reservations are highly recommended as we observed many walk-ins but there was a 1+ hour wait. Also, must be 21+. It's not an extensive menu - more like small bites. Appreciate the selection of Zero proof drinks. Hubs happy with the NA Suntory. I went with the Dashi Apple which was quite refreshing. Kiddo ordered the Miyabi which was quite floral. We ordered food items to share. Started with the Tebasaki (chicken wings). Kiddo liked these so much she ordered another one. Next, the pork jowl - some pieces were just fat but the meat was seasoned well. Loved the pear and pineapple kimchi - would've liked a bowl of that. The Tori Nanban Sando was another good one. The Shoji Burger is what hubs came for. Fork and knife definitely need to eat this. Pillowy soft bread, melty cheese, and the pickles all made for a tasty burger. Hubs would return for this alone. Ended our meal with the Hojicha Affogato - so good and such an enjoyable way to end our meal. We weren't rushed at any time. Service was good in that they checked on us often. I'd like to visit during the day time to check out their cafe offerings. Also, although not right away, we'd definitely return again for dinner.
