I always try to sample local brews, and I've had some of the best, including Russian River and alchemist, not to mention a lot of things in San Diego like North Park, Pure Project, and Harland. I have to say they hazy IPAs and west coast IPAs are some of the best around. I had a limited release fresh hop ipa and it was one of the best beers I have tried. I also liked the Training Bines. Definitely recommend the place if you like IPA's. Haven't tried other beers but would expect similar results. read more

Awesome beers fresh from the source, my favorite is the Electric Jellyfish (hazy IPA) and the Old Beluga (amber) The food here is awesome, I was most impressed with the Italian sub .. a mix of Italian meats, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion and vinaigrette on a fresh hoagie roll.. very tasty! Service was great, you can order at the bar and they give you a buzzer for the food. All in all it's a great fit in the neighborhood. The location is open with lots of indoor and outdoor seating in a modern warehouse type vibe.. all the stainless brewing equipment is prominently visible behind the bar. My only suggestion is please get great sea salt and ground pepper shakers available for the tables ... currently the only S & P options are those packets they give you at fast food joints. What a cool place! I was meeting two others for a lunch and we decided to give it a try. They have an expansive patio area with seating to get some fresh air, but it's also enclosed so you're protected from the elements. There's also an indoor seating area, which is where we sat since it was a bit chilly out. They make ordering easy by providing a QR code at your table where you can input your order through your phone, or you can walk up to the bar and order. They have an array of brews on tap and a few ciders too. They mainly have apps, sandwiches, and salads. We ordered the Buffalo chicken dip - yum! It came with colored carrots, celery, and bread for dipping. We followed this with the pulled pork sandwich and the pimento and bacon jam sandwiches. Everything was good. The pimento and bacon jam sandwiches were quite rich and could easily be shared. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place! read more

Came here for a quick lunch and love the atmosphere and decor. I thought this was Pinthouse Pizza but it's not. The food selection was different. We ordered a salad and pizza. Salad was AMAZING 10/10. I'll be back for just that. The pizza however was mediocre. It was a deep dish square pizza that was very heavy, too salty, and the crust was lacking that deep dish crisp. Personally I prefer this location over the one on South Lamar. There's ample indoor and outdoor seating and can handle large groups easily. Depending on the time and day there's live music plus the latest games on TV. My favorite time to drop by is the weekend when they offer their brunch menu in addition to their regular one. Really enjoyed their take on the French toast. It's layered giving you both crispy and custardy soft textures. Plus comes with a generous amount of fresh berries and cinnamon cream to liven up each bite. As for their savory items my top picks are their hot chicken sandwich and their wagyu burger. The chicken sandwich hits all of those satisfying notes, it's crispy, spicy, crunchy with the pickles and slaw. The burger is a smash burger type where the patties have a crisp, salty crust but not dry mind you. The pretzel is also a great shareable item and comes with two dips, mustard and beer cheese. It's a great place to hang out with friends and even with the family (including little ones and furry friends). Staff are also friendly and helpful with setting up the heat lamps when it's chilly. read more

I am absolutely in love with the new Pinthouse! Their new space is amazing. Now I'm no fan of pizza so the food at their other establishment was always kinda meh for me. I saw the menu here and at first was like who wants "sandwiches and hummus with beer".. boy was I wrong... I loved the boiled peanuts, the humus plate and the pimento cheese sandwich. All the food I was served at Pinthouse was fresh and tasty and I'll certainly go back for more. Their IPA's are top notch as they always have been. We don't live too far from this place and we were looking for a new spot to take our guests from out of town to but it ended up just being us two. We weren't leaving until we tried some beer and food and we like the ambiance of the place. A person comes to greet you once you walk in and pretty much give you the low down of the place and how its runs. Service is friendly, helpful, & done exceptionally. They are doggie friendly too. You only need to wear a mask when you go into the inner part of the place. It has a lot of space and a lounge area with a swinging seat, so it has that cool laid back type of vibe. You can scan the code on the napkin dispensers for the menus. I ordered the DEADLUS CHARM (Belgian Blonde) and hubby got the OF SOUND MIND (Fruit & Sour). For food, I got the chicken & Brie sandwich and hubby got the chicken sausage sandwich. They were both tasty and the food was delicious and fresh. This is our go to when we want pizza and beer! Whenever the Pinthouse location on Lamar is crazy crowded we end up driving a short distance to the brewery. The brewery typically is a bit more chiller and has toooons of seating! Especially love that you can order from a QR code or at the bar. The OG pizza is a big favorite of ours! The sourdough crust is to die for. Upon my last visit though our pizza was served lukewarm like it had been sitting out for a while which was a bit of a bummer. I really like that this location has more food than just pizza. I've also had the hot chicken sandwich. It was good but ngl, really spicy to the point it was inedibly spicy for some. A table next to us asked how I could manage to eat it when they could not. Let's just say my tummy was not happy with me the next day. I'd recommend having a few spice levels for it so it's more accessible to others. And OMG the beer. Ok I'm more of a cider person and every cider I've had from here is so fruity and also sweet (which I personally prefer!). Ordering drinks was a little slow-they only had two people working the taps. We are on summer break so who cares?!? We had time to wait! It is a great space: open-clean-and inviting. It has very tall ceilings which makes the space seem much bigger. A few friends said they would come here back in the day when it was Midnight Rodeo. We heard a few fun stories. Relatively in the middle (as the crow flies) of a crop of recently minted breweries. Now that you have your bearings straight, this is not your mama's Pinthouse. While it does have the same beers as the pizzeria sisters, this is where the distribution magic happens. They have food, too, but they want to differentiate. Are you in need of a quick wet lunch on a Tuesday? Stop in for their version of a Nashville Hot sandwich and an Old Beluga on draft. Craving a Detroit style spicy pepperoni pizza? Come on in! Did you want the BahnMi pie from sister across town's pizza joint? Keep moving! There is a breezy covered outside that allows just enough in to make you feel outdoorsy while keeping enough out to make you forget you're sitting on the side of a major highway. They have at least 6 outdoor televisions playing sports, and 3 inside. They also have a big screen- ask the manager real nice and you can put your team on there. They even have a small stage for live music- it is Austin, after all. You'll often find a flea market or release party on Saturdays. So grab your dog and kids, and plan to stay a while. read more

Had been wanting to check this place out and wow, what a beautiful interior, does not give off "brewery vibes" at all. For a brewery it is very modern with it's decor. Love the seating and the chandeliers and all of that when you first walk in, way to go whoever the interior decorator was! That being said, let's move on to the real reason you're reading this.....you wanna know about the beer! Well I decided to try their flight, which came with 5 different beers of your choice. The most popular beer is the electric jellyfish, which is what I ended up settling on after my flights as well. They had also just released some new beers the day I went, and so I tried the "dude blueberry" which surprisingly as someone who isn't a fan of heavier beers, I actually enjoyed it. Don't know if I would've handled a full glass of it, but definitely enjoyed the trial version. All in all, a great place to gather with friends, super chill and low key with a nice vibe. read more

We decided to try Pint House Brewing after receiving coupons in the mail. One was for a free salad or sandwich and one was for $10 off. We weren't sure where the location was, but following directions, we were able to find it just east of Woodward at Ben White on the southside access road. They really need better signage because the entrance is on the south side of a large warehouse-looking building. But it is definitely worth finding! We were greeted at the outside patio which is wonderfully shaded and well set up for live music in the evenings. We were shown to a table and told to remember our table number before we went to order at the bar. All the staff were appropriately masked and social distancing seating was enforced. To take maximum advantage of our coupons (because we will be leaving Austin in two weeks) we ordered separately. I ordered the Italian sandwich with a side salad and an iced tea. My husband ordered a chicken Caesar salad, an iced tea, and a blackberry cider. The drinks were all self-serve which made keeping our glasses refilled easy. Our food came out very quickly, as we were some of the first people seated. And it looked amazing when we got it! See photos. My sandwich was huge! The bread was perfect; soft inside and thick and crusty outside. The fillings were amazing with several kinds of meat and cheese and vegetables with a dressing. The flavor was outstanding and I made my husband try it because I knew he would like it too. My side salad was also terrific. The dressing was an olive oil vinaigrette that was just perfect and the homemade croutons made it that much more delicious. My husband's blackberry cider was so good that he had me try it, and it was delicious! It was slightly sweet and full of flavor. His Caesar salad was huge! It had the same homemade croutons and an incredible garlic Caesar dressing that even I, a non-fish eater, liked. Try this place! They appear to be owned by the same company as the Pinthouse Pizza locations in Austin, but they are focusing on their brewery, sandwiches and salads, and they are all delicious! read more

Saw this off HWY 290, and we broke hard to get there, lol. Not really, we saw it off the feeder road and decided to check it out. Glad we did. Drove into the parking lot, plenty of parking. Nice big BEER sign on the side of the building. Clean parking lot. Walked through the front door, and the place is huge. Plenty of seating, kind of out doors. Everything is covered, but open to the elements. The time we went was kinda warm so we decided to sit at the bar in air conditioning. The bar was really nice and clean. Ambiance is really nice, plenty of staff to help and clean. They have food, but we ate before we got there. Plenty of beers to choose from, at least 20 on tap. They have a great selection of different types of beers. No Saisons that was the only one I didn't see. Kid friendly, but no real place for them to play. Saw one kid just playing around the floor. I did see a couple of games. They do have live music. All and all, I would definitely go back. For sure. read more

Yes - first review! It's crazy to open a restaurant/brewery during "Stage-5" covid risk, but *all things considered* Pinthouse has been smart about safety. We know Pinthouse pizza and their delicious beers (hello Electric Jellyfish), but this flagship space is gorgeous, thoughtful, and socially-distanced, and the hosts and servers are extremely friendly and informative. I'm very eager for Pinthouse to roll out their famous pizza, but in the meantime the veggies and boiled peanut hummus with pomegranate molasses was solid, and their limited menu all looks really great. Bonus points for offering tasting glasses (ie flights) and for swag featuring the LGBTQ Progress flag (it's cute and makes the place incredibly inviting). They brought that out after our pizza which wasn't an issue but just thought it was funny. Ordered the Spicy Mama sourdough pizza and that was a hit, just be cautious of the chunks of garlic. The sourdough crust had great potential, but it was a bit too burnt on the bottom for my liking. I also wasn't a fan of the added honey. Great pizza--here it's a little different than at the Burnett location--better, more airy and crisp--just delicious. The nito Irish stout was really great, and of course the Electric Jellyfish IPA is my favorite. The location is larger than expected--the outdoor seating is covered and there are fans and heaters everywhere for summer/winter. Dogs are allowed outside, but it almost feels indoors since things are covered--great setup for winter, and guaranteed shade for summer. We sat in a nook that had several flat screens with sports on over a shuffleboard table. Lots of greenery everywhere, which is really nice. 5 stars for atmosphere no doubt. Same fir food and service...the QR code at each table let's you order on your own without closing your tab each time and the beer arrives fast! We'll be back for sure. read more
