Best place to get to-go food and eat elsewhere. Highly recommend the drunken noodle. Fried rice wasn't as amazing as the noodle options.

Never eaten here but we've gotten delivery multiple times and it's really good! The whole sushi and Thai thing might make you question the quality (I most certainly did) but they do a good job. I'm going to try and eat there one day and I'll edit this review if needed read more

Dependably good food with fast, efficient to-go service. In particular, I like the cashew chicken. If you go for lunch, be sure to order the lunch items. I've tried to order here twice now on Uber eats because I like the variety of curry and sushi, the sushi isn't bad so I tried it again but both times I ordered the green curry the smell is so off as soon as I open the bowl I don't even want to take a bite. On a visit to Seattle, my friends and I were craving something warm to eat during late evening hours of our last night there. This restaurant not only has a large menu to satisfy every pallet but the prices were very reasonable. What's more, I was able to use Yelp to order our delivery service for our meals! We also loved their heat scale and were completely satisfied with their level-3 heat (we love spice/heat!). Best Thai food on Capitol Hill, all the ingredients are superb and they have great customer service although sometimes they get the spicy stars mixed up but it's usually 100% accurate. First time here...It's a sweet little place on Broadway, clean and bright. The gyoza was tasty, not greasy. We had a fried pad thai, made with wontons instead of noodles. It was surprisingly yummy!!! The sushi is fresh and separately packaged to keep it from getting warm from other entrees, which was the attention to the little details that made me decide on a five vs a four. The food was delicious- my hubby had Pad Thai Shrimp made with medium spice and said it was ridiculous!!! Coming from a picky eater, that's one of the best reviews I could give! While walking down Broadway recently I noticed that Ali Baba's was no more and was now a Thai-Japanese place. My initial feeling of loss at seeing Ali Baba's go was quickly replaced with curiosity as I love both Thai food and Sushi. It certainly is a very different type of place from what Ali Baba's was but I think the Broadway food scene will be better of for it. Always on the hunt for the perfect Pad Thai I was very intrigued by the Samurai Pad Thai dish on the menu so I decided to walk in and try it. I must say that it was as good as if not better than just about any Pad Thai can recall ever having anywhere else outside of Thailand. The noodles had just the right texture, the sauce had a delicious tangy flavor and the tempura prawns on top were a very nice touch. The wait staff was also friendly and attentive. I am definitely going back again and look forward to trying more of their menu. read more

NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EAT HERE! I do not care if Christ himself asks you to sit down for dinner at this restaurant DO NOT DO IT! First there were 3 of eating. We ordered the tartare as an appetizer along with some green tea. The waitress only brought out 1 green tea and when we pointed it out she said she was to busy to go grab the others at the moment. WTF? For dinner I ordered the yakisoba noodles with chicken. The three main courses came out at once...and then our appetizer came out. There was nothing right with the appetizer. BIG chunks of poor quality fish covered in some bland slimy sauce. Yuck! My food was putrid. Disgusting. Rancid. Horrible crap on a plate. It smelled horrible, the noodles were so over cooked they stuck together and were chewy. I could not eat it. The smell alone was killing everyone at the table. When I asked if I could send the food back and order something else I was told yes, but then the waitress took my food and never brought me a new menu to look at. Finally after getting my own menu I ordered something that should have been QUICK since my friends were already 1/3 of the way done eating - Chicken Teryaki. WRONG 15 minutes after my friends had finished eating, my food was STILL not out. I called the waitress over and asked to cancel my order and was told that I could not cancel my order. I became angry at that point and asked for the manager. When we first started our discussion he refused to cancel the order and demanded I stay and eat there or take the order with me and pay. After slightly raising my voice to the point that the couple tables next to us could hear the issue, and threatening to walk out with out paying at all he canceled the order. The waitress was continually rude and would not bring my friend a to go box. Our service was like this on a SLOW night I cannot imagine how a busy night goes there. Where do you go for happy hour when you want "sushi" AND crunchies? My friend and I, in an indecisive panic, settled on Pinto. I've tried the sashimi, a couple rolls, the crab rangoon (shut up, sometimes when you're depressed you need a crunchy thing that is also stuffed with cream cheese), the egg rolls (again, come on, don't pretend you don't like crunchies), and the miso soup. The rolls are competent, though they won't set your world on fire, the sashimi is alright, and the crunchies are...well, crunchy. Which is all they need to be. The happy hour pricing is completely reasonable, so as you can imagine Pinto has become my beer-fish-crunchies go-to on the Hill. That I go to shockingly often. For the TL;DR crowd: absolutely horrible food and service. Skip this for just about anything better. After my first visit, I can safely conclude this was probably one of the most pathetic attempts at fusion cusine I've seen in ages. Had a dinner on Saturday night here at peak hour with a small group of 6, and the mostly-empty restaurant should've been a sign that it was going to suck. I was too foolish to notice. All went well until food. It took forever to come out (more than 30 minutes) and arrived randomly. One person got a soup and salad together (from a sushi platter) while the rest of us sat. Then someone else's appetizer would come out... then another. Pet peeve - get an expediter with a clue... none of us want to sit and wait multiple minutes for more dishes to appear, and on top of that, we'd already been waiting a while. I started with sunomono promised as cucumber, seaweed, and octopus. It arrived as a cucumber and octopus salad with a sad sprinkle of furikake on top. The usually pungent-sweet vinegar dressing was noticeably bland and absent. The octopus tentacles were okay; nothing to write home about, but otherwise ok. Those getting sushi platters had them arrive while I was still working on my appetizer. I stayed away from the sushi; it was a selection of super basic fish (nothing interesting) and a massive quantity of "dumb American" rolls where they like to layer yesterday's offcuts with mayo/cream cheese/random tropical fruit for people with no culinary taste. Let's just call that "gas station sushi, elevated." One of my companions had ordered some toro nigiri to go with her dinner. They had run out of toro. What kind of a sushi bar runs out of toro mid-early service? What really irked me was I had ordered a tamarind spicy trout. The waitress waited until I was done with my sunomono and others had their sushi to tell me the kitchen was out of trout. Failure #2 for me... now I'm going to have to wait forever again to get the food. What kind of server (1) doesn't tell you when you order if they're out of stuff and (2) waits until the meal is halfway through to warn you. She made some terrible suggestions for replacements, but I tried to order the Khao Soi. I've had a lot of Khao Soi around the world in my time...and this was hands down the worst attempt at the dish I've ever seen. I ordered it spicy; I like spice...and lots of it. What I got was neither truly 5 star (maybe about a 3 in reality, despite having ordered as 5) and on top of it was completely devoid of any other flavors. Some noodles and chicken floated in a bland broth, garnished with a random chicken drumstick...that was so pale grey it wasn't edible. It had likely been boiled into oblivion. In short...I can't figure out why anyone would go here for supper...absolutely one of the most pathetic, tasteless, poorly prepared meals I've ever eaten, with rotten service. There are a lot of good restaurants around here...any of them could've done a lot better than here. read more

You would expect that a restaurant that just opened would be trying to make a good first impression. You would think that if it was a completely empty Monday night, they would work hard to give their only two guests a positive experience. And you would think that the wait staff would have been trained at least a little, say, to know what "Nigiri" means. Unfortunately, on our first (and last) trip to Pinto, none of these was the case. We started with the Rainbow Tartare. It's not clear why it's called a "tartare," since it is not finely chopped (do they think tartare just means raw?), but we were prepared to like it anyway. The fish quality was good. Other than that, there wasn't much to like about it. The "tartare" itself came with a very light, somewhat bland sauce. It was sitting on a bed of completely dry, raw greens. They were not dressed. It indicated a lack of effort that would continue through the dinner. Next, we got the medium Omakase. The fish was decent. The highlight was a couple beautiful pieces of hamachi. Other parts were disappointing. The red tuna was bland, mealy, and slightly grey; it seemed like it was left over from the weekend. The salmon roe was congealing into a gel, as opposed to consisting of individual bright, pops of flavor. Surprisingly, the halibut (or was it flounder?) tasted better than the snapper, which also seemed like it had been sitting out for too long. I don't know if they had White King Salmon that night, but it didn't make it to our Omakase. This is a little funny, in light of the fact that we paid $35 for the medium, and afterward I added up the prices of the individual pieces--if we had ordered a la carte, the same selection would have been $31. Not exactly what you expect from "omakase." The most dismal part of our meal came at the end: We finished with the garlic and pepper chicken. First, it came hilariously on a huge bed of bland, unseasoned roasted carrots and broccoli. Even that was easily forgivable if it had been good at all. It wasn't. The worst parts were the two main components: The chicken and the sauce. The chicken was just badly prepared. It had no texture left to it. It was simply mushy. The sauce was also amateurish. It had no depth at all. It was completely one note, and that note wasn't even garlic; it was a bland reminder of what garlic might taste like. We left over half the chicken on our plate. It feels like just another example of the owner/manager not caring. Not caring about food, and not caring about dining. So many of us work hard in life; I don't know why we shouldn't expect the same of others. Sure, it takes a lot of effort to keep a restaurant consistently good for years, but wouldn't you be at your best so soon after opening? You just can't serve bad Thai food on Broadway and make it. And you can't serve mediocre sushi in Seattle and make it. If you're hungry for some Thai at the same prices, I recommend Rom Mai Thai on the other side of the street. read more

Ok, I really want to give this place a lot of stars. The Phad Thai (beef, 3-stars) was delicious and the Phad Kee Mao (chicken, 2-star) was pretty good too. However, while we were there we witnessed a ridiculous food safety violation. Based on that lazy mistake, I don't think we can forgive them. Here's how it went down: We waited a few minutes longer than I expected for our food, but they were busy, so it's ok. The waitress came out and delivered two plates. My Phad Thai looked and tasted fine. But, my girlfriend looked at her Phad Kee Mao and was confused. She had ordered it with chicken, and without onions or jalapenos. I saw tofu, onions and one large weirdly shaped piece of jalapeno. I poked at it with my finger and said, "hey, give it a try, it might still be ok." We both took a bite or two and she decided it was too spicy to keep and that we'd have to reach out for a waitress to collect it and bring the correct order. At that moment I looked up and a different, older, waitress came walking up from the kitchen with one plate. She came to our table and asked what my GF had ordered. Ah, wonderful, she had brought out the right order of Phad Kee Mao. She took the wrong plate away and everything was fine.... Until, WTF?!!?!?!, I saw her walk with our lightly touched plate to the kitchen, pick up a few other plates and serve the whole thing to a different table. How gross is that? She RE-served the plate we had eaten off of. How am I sure it was the same one? It had the same oddly shaped piece of jalapeno in the same place and I could see it was missing the 4 big pieces of tofu we had eaten. I even walked by on the way to the bathroom to verify and had my girlfriend look too. No mistaking. The waitress didn't ask if we had tasted it and frankly, I find it hard to believe she didn't know we had. I mean stuff was definitely moved around and my girlfriend was chewing when the waitress came up to take the plate. I guess she assumed we hadn't touched it? But we all know what assuming makes.... It's simply a gross and lazy way to run a business. Once that food leaves your sight (we had it for at least two or three minutes), you can't serve it someone else. WTF?! Saving a few bucks or a few minutes is simply not worth the risk people. Sorry, not returning. read more

Two words: Sushi Happy Hour. Okay three, but great ones, no? The sushi happy hour at this place rocks. It isn't just the boring rolls, but the good stuff like spider and caterpillar, etc. Cheap cheap cheap, and best of all? It's made right in front of you at the open sushi chef counter. They also have noodles dishes, etc. but we always go for the same 5 rolls and saki so I have experience with these things. The place isn't charming or anything, but its clean, it tries to have some design elements, and the servers are friendly, the sushi comes quick, and I really just have no idea why it isn't more busy. I mean we love that it isn't, as we always get a table pronto, but this place really deserves some attention. However, if you are looking for tons of options and lots of sauces, then maybe you won't be very impressed. We don't like our sushi drenched in creamy creations or sauce so it's perfect for us, but maybe not for everyone. We also find the menu varied plenty, but its not pages and pages of different roles, so just FYI. read more

We all enjoyed our food and it was a good experience--very solid especially for delivery sushi. I gave four stars instead of five because while we all enjoyed our food, none of us were blown away. Such nice people! We ordered food via grub hub and it was ready ahead of schedule but then grub hub took over an hour and a half to (not) deliver it. We called the restaurant and let them know. We rejected the order due to the late hour and we weren't sure of the condition of our food by the time it arrived (if ever). We could see the grub hub driver via the app waiting for other orders and delivering them first way out of our way. He was even in one location for almost 20 minutes. This wasn't fair to the restaurant who prepared our order extra fast and is only a 10 minute drive away. Next time we will pick up (weren't sure under these Covid rules so used grub hub...never again). The restaurant apologized and even called us back to check on us and the order. It isn't fair that they didn't get paid for food they prepared. Grub hub's service or lack thereof should not impact the hard work or quality of food prepared by our local favorites. I will be sure to pay this back to them but did not want to pay grub hub. It also is unfortunate that restaurants need to rely on delivery services like grub hub to get food to their customers. This cuts into their profits. This is a great restaurant and they care about their customers. Please support them if you can and try to pick up and avoid grub hub. We had some errands to run on Broadway and were in the mood for Asian food. I wanted sushi, sister wasn't so fond of the idea, so Pinto came to the rescue! It was quiet when we arrived (it was early afternoon on Labor Day), so we got a table next to the window where we could people- and dog-watch on Broadway. I ordered the spider roll and sister chose the veggie delight with chicken. Both were excellent, especially the veggie delight, and very filling. Because of the holiday, the usual lunch prices weren't available which made it a bit more expensive than I would've liked but it wasn't too bad. The worst bit was the $2 surcharge for brown rice, which is rather ridiculous. I did appreciate them providing both chopsticks and forks without asking, for those of us who are stick-impaired. The feel is hip and modern, the food is yummy and actually spicy (other local Thai joints seem to lack fire in their "5 stars") when the menu indicates spicy. I loved it. I'm really surprised to see so many good reviews. Not that this place is bad but it's not 5 or even 4 stars. When this place first opened about 10 years ago, it was the best. The quality of the food and taste was very high. However, as the years progressed, it has deteriorated and now it's just so-so. I can tell the quality of the ingredients by how my stomach feels after I've eaten Thai food and it just doesn't measure up anymore. It makes me sad because I used to eat at Pinto at least once a week. I thought I'd give it another try last night but that was the last time. i strolled in there once based on the inability to choose between sushi or thai (they, proudly, serve both). i have been craving it ever since. i work on broadway, and when we're busy and starving, we'll call in an order and the delivery driver is so chipper and sweet! i've been into the establishment a handful of times to dine and to pick up take-out orders. i recommend chatting with the sushi chef. he's extremely knowledgeable, and SO proud of the quality of his fish! he'll be happy to chat with you, and is extremely excited to discuss the wild-caught, seasonal fish options. PLEASE NOTE: THE UNAGI IS- WITHOUT A DOUBT- THE BEST UNAGI I HAVE EVER HAD. EVER. they take their time really crisping up that unagi... its a texture i've never experienced before. and, unagi is my little weakness... so that's coming from some experienced tastebuds. one of the times I snuck in there, i had just gotten back from the gym and was starved. i, without hesitation, ordered three different things off the menu (unagi, tom kha, salmon skin salad), while my date had a curry. despite the fact that i was starving, i was so astonished by the exceptional flavor of everything, we ended up hanging out there for quite a long time, slowly nibbling on everything... quietly moaning with our eyes shut everytime we took a bite. it was so phenomenal! i really recommend testing this place out. it's definitely my new favorite sushi spot on the hill... read more

Pretty good. It's got a pretty trendy interior. Don't care so much for that, though. The wait staff are nice, and the food is good. This is one of those restaurants that is just an easy 2.5/3. It's not bad, but it's not great. I'm speaking mostly about the sushi. I feel the prices are steep for sushi and that the quality of freshness had peaked 2 days ago. Unfortunately, it is one of only a couple of sushi places that are open at lunch on the hill. Yes, i'll probably be back here, but not if another better sushi joint opens in CapHill any time soon. I don't get it.... I've had better conveyor belt sushi! The fish on my nigiri set wasn't fresh, plus it was a little bit mushy and kinda warm. The spider roll I had was ok, but nothing beyond mediocre. (Too much mayo, too little everything else.) The edemame didn't have enough salt and was overcooked. With so many amazing sushi joints in Seattle, I have no idea why anyone would come here! Maybe their Thai offerings are a lot better?! On the plus side, service was fast and friendly, and they play great music (Flume, Little Dragon). That's not enough to get me to choke down subpar sushi, though.
