My son's cub scout den was invited to come in for a tour of the kitchen. The owner was very gracious and happy to answer all of the questions we had about his establishment. All their dough, pasta and bread is made from scratch daily. A full bar is available as well. The price was the most surprising as this is very much a gourmet pizza. Ordered takeaway from here this weekend. I was told the order would be ready in half an hour. Reached the restaurant after 45 mins and the pizzas weren't ready. Waited another 30-40mins for the pizzas. Finally got them. I live 5 mins away - reached home and opened up the pizzas and was disappointed. Ordered a Lisbona and Ortomisto - both were bland. The pizza is mediocre. The Midtown locations the pizza is better. The manager is very unaccommodating, unable to sustain a descent customer service. Also, the women's restroom does not have a baby changing table. I had to change my baby in my lap while seating on the toilet. Very uncomfortable to say the least. read more

The pizza is good however the way the owner( partner) or manager ( the guy didn't introduced himself) treat his clients is unbelievable. The situation was after a misunderstanding about the payment ( the restaurant didn't charge on one of the cards) the waiter politely explained and then my friend went to pay with no problems on her way out this guy ( owner/ manager) talked to her mocking the situation and her. It was unacceptable and then another friend talked to him and he raised his voice and start to argue with her. It was very embarrassing for everyone but him that was so full of himself thinking he was The boss. However we are clients and didn't do anything wrong. This guy is a sexist and a very rude person. He shouldn't own anything and he definitely shouldn't be dealing with people. Even though a nice lady ( also owner) tried to reverse the awkward situation it was too late. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and boy o boy so glad we did. Any Italian food place i always order the same ol thing spaghetti and meatballs because this really shows what they are made of. Coustemer service is bad !!!! I was there with my husband and 5kids I had to pay 20% tip and the service suck we never received any refills or did they ever asked if we needed anything. despite that two of our pizza's were not the way we order them the whole experience was bad. This is a nice little Italian restaurant near whole foods on Voss. The owner was considerate and brought pizza dough for our screaming kids to play. That was nice personal touch. It is brand new place, we tried capirinha, sangria, hawaian pizza , calzone and all food was delicious. All ingredient tasted fresh and were high quality. We will go back for sure to try some insalate. They also advertise special drink offerr for different days of the week. We got 6$ Sangria deal. Good sangria. The place is very cute and the waitress was very amiable. I liked the coziness of the restaurant. I have eaten pizza from Venice to Capri and everywhere in between. This pizza was poorly made, had inferior ingredients and hardened cheese, and it came 100 percent soggy. I could only eat the crust. The rest of the pie was soggy. I thought the crust was good. The bufala cheese and sliced tomatoes was inferior. The cheese was BLAND hard and cold. It was a mess and super expensive. We spent close to 90 dollars on lunch. I absolutely love Piola! As a pizza lover, I feel that Piola's flavors are totally authentic to how pizza tastes in Italy and other parts of Europe. The #14 pizza, the Pavia (ham and sautéed mushrooms) reminds me of a pizza I used to eat when I was a child, growing up in Europe. It is absolutely delicious! If pizza isn't your thing, Piola's pasta dishes do not disappoint either. I had the Penne Cividale most recently, and it was out of this world good! Another pasta recommendation would be the Gnocchi Pompei. A simple, but delicious dish! Very confused about online pricing. Ordered a salad that was 11.95 and was charged 14.08. Explanation was that menu prices increased the week before. Not sure why it's not reflected online, and why (if it's not changed online) they wouldn't honor the same price as listed online. Almost 15 dollars for a salad without protein is way too much.
