I couldn't recommend Pipecam more. We used them for our sewer lateral inspection during the purchase of our house and they were very thorough. Dan spoke with me multiple times over the phone explaining the inspection outcome and their recommendations. Dan was very friendly, helpful and never was pushy about us accepting their proposal for recommended work. We put the sewer line issues on the back burner for a few months and realized we needed to fix the problems sooner rather than later as Dan had earlier recommended. We had gotten a quote from a brand name competitor who wanted to charge us the same amount as pipecam - yet do a small fraction of the work, plus some unnecessary stuff too. It also seemed like Roto rooter didn't know anything about Livermore specific info. that was pertinent to the repairs. Roto rooter also only said it would be a half day repair! Pipecam on the other hand did the repairs over 3 days (so they could do it right) and got the work permitted and inspected by the city. Dan and Brian squeezed us in to their tight schedule before Christmas and did a fantastic job, working in the rain and at times, at night. Our job was more involved and difficult than they anticipated but they never tried to charge us more. I definitely recommend using Pipecam for your sewer lateral inspections and repairs. Pipecam is AWESOME! I am a real estate Broker and I was selling a home in Castro Valley. Castro Valley homes now require a Cert for the sewer. I called Pipecam AFTER I was told by another sewer lateral company that it would be $1,255 for the Cert if everything looked fine and that we needed a Pressure test. This was all misinformation. Castro Valley does not require a pressure test I found out from Pipecam. PIPECAM gave me a quote which was a third of the price I was quoted for the Cert. But it gets even better! Pamela at PIPECAM looked up the property permits and saw that this property was already Certified and sent me a copy of the paperwork. So no Cert or inspection was required at all. We reached out to PipeCam to complete an inspection for our new home. Unfortunately, the company stated that the inspection could not be fully completed. We were relying in PipeCam to provide a full scope report on the status of the house, and getting an incomplete inspection was very disappointing (specially after paying full price). We were not satisfied with the work perform for the following reasons: 1) Incomplete report, 2) Unprofessionalism Emails, when we asked Pamela for suggestions, she suggested we wanted to do illegal work (extremely rude), 3) Finally, they were emailing us multiple times charging us even before completing the work. We had to hire a new company and they were able to complete the inspection FULLY. If you need a reliable inspection, do not use Pipe Cam, they will charge you upfront and then tell you they can't complete anything. read more

Fantastic company - really just THE BEST. Why do I say this? Welllllll.... Over the course of trying to sell our house, the buyer's agent called in a friend who was a "plumber". This "plumber" rolled up in his minivan with antequated equipment, ran a crappy (literally - ha!) camera down our sewer line, and announced that it was in complete disrepair and we needed to pay $10K to fix it. What? NO. I had JUST had a plumber come out who told me annual maintenance would be required (annual snaking) but the pipe itself was in fine condition. My agent called Jim and Pipe Cam Inc, and they came out to do an additional sewer line survey. And guess what? Pipe Cam Inc ran the camera, identified some fine roots growing into the pipe joints (normal), searched for cracks and collapses (none), cleaned the pipe, and re-ran the camera so everyone could see the pipe again. IT WAS FINE. No repairs needed, just annual snaking. I hate to sound cheesy, but Pipe Came Inc really saved the day - and the real estate transaction. So, I found Pipecam through Yelp. His ratings were off the chart. It helped even further that he is also a general contractor and that he is ex-navy! Jim has a great sense of humor and is a great people person. He came in and evaluated our situation. We have a terrible smell coming from one of our bathrooms. From our discussions and review with him, so far as we can tell, it is NOT a plumbing issue. He walked us through several different possible scenarios through a systematic process of elimination (bad pun!). He spent a good 40 minutes with us helping us try to narrow down other possible culprits. Bottom line is, we think there some attic critter might have died in one of the heating/air conditioning vents. Tomorrow, Roger will head to the attic to evaluate the situation and we have our local pest control company coming out on Monday. He left with a smile on his face without handing us a bill. Jim, the inspector who came to the home my husband and I are in purchase contract for, did an amazingly thorough job in not only scoping the original 1948 100 foot terra cotta sewer lateral line with a quality camera, but explaining visual findings at every pipe joint. What was so appreciated is that he spoke in everyday terminology, helping me clearly understand the facts as we were seeing them, from cracks to breaks to literally a hole in the pipe. Never sent us a quote They came highly recommended, but we waiting over a week just for them to come look at the job and produce a quote. We already had two quotes and wanted this to be our third deciding factor. We then waited over another week for the quote.....that never came. Office stated they were sorry and it was coming....then never heard from them again. We lost almost 3 weeks on waiting time and still ending up going with one of the two quotes we had 3 weeks prior. Frustrating and inconvenient. I root for small family businesses, since I was raised working in one as well. But it would be nice if they just outright said they didn't have the capacity to accommodate us. I was just really surprised since they knew we had been waiting and my yard is a mess, with a hug hole in my backyard with little toddlers running around. If I could only rate the guys who actually did the work I'd give them a 5 star rating.. But sadly those running the business would only get 1/2 a star if that was an option. I was told by Pamela that the work that needed to be done at my home would be no problem. That in fact the work would begin on a specific date but didn't actually start until days after that agreed upon start date.. This job took 23 days to complete. That's right, 23 days of not showering, washing or using my toilets & let's not forget two gaping holes in my front yard. Think back, when was the last time you felt good about handing your money over to a contractor? Well that's exactly how I felt after giving Pipe Cam my business. I'm in the process of buying my first house. The home inspection identified that there was a problem with the drains from the kitchen and the laundry area. My realtor suggested having Pipe Cam look at the sewers to insure that I wasn't in for a nasty surprise. At first it looked as if we were going to have to go with a different company, because Pipe Cam was getting their camera repair. The other company, which shall remain nameless, couldn't even get the end cap off the sewer pipe. Luckily, Pipe Cam got their camera repaired and was willing to come by on a Friday at 5:30 pm. During the inspection, Jim was extremely informative, instructive, and humorous. He made sure I knew what I was seeing, the likely cause of any intrusions or blockages, and the likelihood of these becoming bigger problems. Both before and after the inspection, Jim went out of his way to make sure I knew more about the plumbing in my soon to be house.
