Piper!
Morgan O.

Popped into Mountain House after the farmers market on a Saturday afternoon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Piper the coffee shop dog was adorable and is sure to brighten the mood of any patrons![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Busy but still plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was quick and coffee house staff was friendly. Food was ok, and same with the coffee. Nothing super standout but definitely decent! Had a lovely time here.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Yo this place is so cute![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had a great time crocheting and catching up with a friend over a cinnamon honey latte.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their service was great and the drink was tasty. Also they have a crochet and knitting group on Saturday mornings :) the owner told me and he was very kind. Rating it a 4/5 because it is some place I would go again.

Delicious food and drink. We got the coffee cake/bundt and it was yummy. We originally ordered the cinnamon roll which looked great and then unfortunately found out that they were out of them, but we were able to order a delicious bacon and egg croissant sandwich instead. I was very pleased with the warm customer service in this could-have-been-awkward moment. The space felt calm and it resonated with those good community vibes that make you want to keep coming back. Would definitely order everything again (Churro iced latte with oat milk was bomb). The only thing I would critique is that the adorable shop dog poops in the grass right outside the cafe and we almost stepped in it both walking in and leaving. Watch your step when you go. Love the dog though!

Honesty we had a wonderful experience!! I was visiting my friend and we decided to try a new St. Louis coffee shop! Have to shake things up sometimes! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were met with the perfect fall coffee shop![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We each ordered a s'mores Breve! So delicious! And the baristas were so nice! We got to chatting and had such a fun little conversation! They also gave us some recommendations of their fav drinks! [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you are looking for a cozy hometown coffee shop, definitely come here![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A cute, neighborhood location on a quiet street is the perfect spot for this coffee shop. This is not a cookie-cutter, chain store place. The shop is cozy and cute, with a friendly dog adding to the homey feel. The owner took our orders, talked to us about the coffee and preparation he uses, and prepared our drinks. They were excellent. We also enjoyed a couple of pastries as we sat out on the patio area in the sunshine. So glad we discovered Mountain House Cafe; we'll definitely be back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]New favorite coffee shop, the cold brew was really good and the atmosphere was incredible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went alone but I felt like I was getting coffee with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Plus, Piper is the best door greeter I've ever met.

A decaf latte with oat milk...

Service is friendly and quick. It's a neat building, but it looks like they're still putting on finishing touches. The owner has a dog, which I initially thought was pretty neat. But while I was sitting there, the dog kept barking at people walking by on the sidewalk. For those indoors, it's not real pleasant. The coffee was good and reasonably priced.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Mountain House cafe is so welcoming, so cozy, and super cute![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not only are you often greeted by a cute dog named Piper, but all of the employees and the owner are kind and beyond helpful. Coffee and food was lovely. My favorite is the lemon blueberry muffin, but they have an amazing gluten free chocolate banana muffin as well. Would come every day if I could!

The high chair for our baby accomodationed these tables and the staff welcomed us in nicely. We really appreciated a nice restaurant welcoming in A: kids B: us after a Zoo day. We loved how they had the garage door open for the air to come in on the nice day. The bar / high top are had plenty of space and was very comfortable. They had a great happy hour around 3pm, both our appetizers were on the happy hour menu, as well as our Pinot Grigio drinks. The food was excellent, we had focaccia bread, and fried calamaris. We didn't have them but the wagu sliders and chicken lollipops both were popular at the other table. We also got a white chocolate tiramisu to go that was fantastic. Great bread = Great dessert Really appreciated our waitress / bartender that day, she said she had four grown kids of her own, as well as appreciated the rest of the staff. Thank you for a great meal and service! See you again soon

Let me start by saying my waitress was lovely, great service and great attitude. So in that…read morerespect, the meal was pleasant. Unfortunately though, this restaurant seems to have a case of quantity over quality in terms of food items. There are far too many things on the menu for them to perform well at all 40+ menu offerings, or at least that's my opinion of what might be going on here. I ordered a glass of prosecco and the prosciutto con melon appetizer to start. This was actually quite nice flavor wise but if you're going to charge $22 bucks for an appetizer you better load my plate up with prosciutto!!! For me personally, 3 pieces of prosciutto, a pile of arugula and some cantaloupe is not worth 22 dollars. I then ordered a side beet salad and mushroom ravioli. This is where things took a turn for the worse. Beet salad was decent, I just wish they put more of the toppings. Was basically just a bowl of arugula. The mushroom ravioli was sadly a let down for me. The pasta was rolled far too thin on top of the filling and far too thick on the sides so unfortunately the tops of the ravioli were paper thin and overcooked while the sides were still raw. Really unappetizing to cut a ravioli open and see raw pasta. Honestly the flavor was pretty rich but not terrible it's just the ravioli itself wasn't well executed. The lovely waitress noticed that I wasnt completely satisfied and took the ravioli off the check. I ordered some "wagyu" sliders that were juicy but in desperate need of some salt. She also offered me a free dessert which was a warm olive oil cake which had a nice orange flavor to it. Honestly quite a nice ending to an underwhelming meal. Would come back for drinks, though.
