What a great breakfast find! Stopped in on a Friday morning, and it was still pretty full. Ended up ordering the sausage breakfast burrito and the french toast to split. The french toast was eh... but the burrito was out of this world delish. I didn't want to share the other half! The consistency of the tortilla was a great surprise. The ingredients really complemented each other. When I come back I'll skip the french toast and only do the burrito. I did try to order tea but their selection was extremely limited. I was looking for a black tea without other flavors, and they didn't have that. It was a bit disappointing since tea seems pretty easy to keep stocked up. I can't wait to return! read more

If you want a hefty breakfast burrito with bacon or sausage, this is the place to go. Usually they are so big, I eat half of the burrito and save the rest for later. They also give you side cups of spicy salsa to go on your breakfast burritos. read more

Went here based on the positive reviews and was slightly disappointed. The young girl at the front who took the order wasn't really that friendly. Food was just an average tasting breakfast. This place is poppin. The vibe & theme to really matches the location - cute shack-like cafe with beach views. Food is your basic at-home breakfast and more. Prices are reasonable. The Big Breakfast was enough to fit a family of four - love it. I hear their breakfast burritos are good too. Their coffee & lattes are strong and tasty which is a plus. No assigned seatings. Down sides are: no own parking lot and side street parkings are packed & there's not a lot of tables if you want to dine in. read more

Fantastic find on the way back to my moms house from San Diego. Vibe was chill and very California. Very friendly staff. Menu was easy to see with a ton of choices. The food was delicious with a ton of choices. The view of the ocean rocked! I ordered two pancakes and a sunny side up egg. Pancakes were delicious and egg cooked to perfection. Just leaving the parking lot and saw two Pipes employees pull into the Post Office next door and park. They walked right in and went back to work. The Post Office was open for business and only has three parking spots. They are marked Post Office Parking Only. During the morning I saw lot's of elderly folks trying to get into those parking spaces. If this is the kind of employees you have you are not getting my business anymore. read more

Went to Solano Beach for a mini staycation as we only live an hour away. The hotel staff highly recommended we come to Pipes Cafe in Cardiff as they have great, affordable breakfast and are family friendly. I ordered the Saturday Special - French toast with a sausage scramble, my 4 year old ordered french toast with cheesy scrambled eggs and bacon, my husband ordered the #2 breakfast burrito. I also went to their little coffee bar and got a hazelnut latte. I probably should've taken a picture of the food before we ate it but we were hungry, lol. Needless to say everyone's plate was dusted off to the last morsel. Food was great, tasted homemade and with love. My son said it was just like grandma makes! Which btw, is a huge compliment because my mother in law is my favorite chef. Also, the staff is a bunch of very courteous and friendly women. Get it girls! Service and food was great. First time here and I gotta say this place is unbelievably busy on the weekend. You have to find street parking then wait in a long line and struggle to find a table. But those are the only down sides. The food came out relatively fast considering how many people were there. And the food was absolutely delicious. I got the sausage scrambler and those potatoes were out of this world. The English muffin was fresh and tasty any the eggs were so fluffy. Full disclosure, I have only enjoyed their outdoor cafe area, but I feel inclined to leave them 5 stars because I find it to be superior to almost every other coffee shop in the area. The coffee menu is chock full of yummy options - just about any flavor or type of coffee drink you can think of is offered here. I usually grab an iced chai (they have the absolute best chai) and an acai bowl. Their acai bowls are HUGE, and while they don't have a ton of toppings to offer like Sambazon down the road, the price is much more reasonable. Theirs comes with banana and granola, which is plenty for me. I can't wait to go back and try something off of their brunch menu. read more

Stopped by for a late lunch today. No lines and parking was easy peasy. On weekends though, the lines have been known to go out the door and I can see parking being a pain. My husband and I ordered the number 1. For mine, I got bacon instead of sausage. The breakfast burrito was clean and simple. Sausage (bacon for me), avocado, eggs, cheese, hot sauce. Ok people. This place is incredible. I am a professional bfastburrito rater, so I went to Pipes on the suggestion of a friend. I am pleased to announce, I was not disappointed in the bfastburrito, in fact, I was pleasantly surprised. You see, being a bfastburrito rater can be hard because you get so many suggestions, but a lot of these are from amateurs. I've had bfastburritos that were so under parr and my disappointment was increased due to the person's lack of knowledge of what makes a good bfastburrito. Anyways, all that to say, the bfastburrito was dank. It had the key ingredients and it was huge which always increase a burritos rank. It's not overpriced and the ambiance of the cafe is the best. Amazing surfer vibes and their coffee shack is my favorite. I have had most of the other food at this place as well but in the one in San Clemente. The big breakfast is the way to go. It's hard to finish solo. Also, pro tip, the ask for the Milky Way Mocha. It's not on the menu but the lady who created that coffee stand invented it and it's my favorite.
