One of the reasons I love coming back to the Boston area where I grew up is that you can order pizza from just about anywhere and it is at least "good". We ordered from Pisa Pizza tonight for a family gathering, and it was more than good, it was great! Everyone especially loved the pesto veggie version. Pizza is pretty good...but their buffalo chicken pizza that supposedly is really good...is so weak. If you like cheese pizza with blue cheese and then tiny pieces of fried buff chicken scattered around the pizza then you'll love it. Ok, so we heard about Pisa Pizza by checking out the neighbors' discarded pizza boxes in the recycling bins, and also noticed their delivery trucks everywhere. We finally tried it, loved it, and then found out about their two-for-one Tuesday deal - I have had so much Pisa Pizza the last month we had to take a little break, but we will be back! The pizza is great, pepperoni is spicy and not too greasy, and the garlic bread is gooey. I ordered two large specialty pizzas for delivery, a Buffalo chicken Pizza and a Chicken Parm. For 16.95/each I was really hoping for the pizzas to be something special but they weren't anything to call home about. Definitely better than Dominos but I will not order from them again. Not as amazing as I'd hoped (going from other reviews here), but not horrible. I got the broccoli chicken pizza (w/ ricotta, a "specialty" pizza) - sorely disappointed by the amount of broccoli (a couple florets per slice; not nearly enough to make me feel like I'm getting some veggies with my carbs & fat). Also wouldn't consider it "thin" crust. My coworker got the buffalo chicken calzone - MASSIVE. He was generally pleased, though has had better. We got wings, pizza and an eggplant parm. The wings were saucy, just the way I like them. The egg plant was tasty, I thought there could have been more cheese but no big deal. I do like their pizza in house, never had a problem with it. However, I got the Pisa pizza deluxe delivered tonight and the dough kind of tasted weird for the first few bites of each slice. I think it wasn't cooked all the way through even though I got it well done. I'm not sure what made it taste different but it definitely wasn't pleasant. The dough tasted normal more towards the crust though. Maybe it was a freak thing. Hopefully that taste isn't consistent with all their deliveries. 4 stars because it's always good when I eat it at the restaurant. read more

I've been getting pizza from here for years. The service is awesome no matter who you get, even on the phone. They are always accommodating and pleasant to deal with. I can only comment on their pizza as I haven't tried much else there. The pizza is some of the best around. I usually get the half tray with grilled chicken, onions, black olives and extra broccoli.. no sauce! Weird order, but they always come through! Never had any issues with the orders or service. Sometimes they are pretty busy, especially on game nights, but I live pretty close so I usually just pick up. Great work guys and gals, thank you! read more

Love this place, never had a bad experience besides today. Tried the "new" honey barbecue chicken pizza. It was terrible and they need to take it off the menu. I'm happy I got onion rings as well because it was most of my dinner. Those were over cooked but better than the pizza. Don't bother, save your money and try something else on the menu. read more

I had a buffalo chicken specialty pizza delivered to my apartment. Delivery was on time and the delivery guy was courteous despite having to call me to come down to open the door for him. The pizza itself was average in my experience. The crust is thin style and soft. Topping quantity was good and nicely distributed. Ok, I've been reading some of the reviews here and I just had to add my 2 cents. At my company, we order from Pisa at least 2 or 3 times a week (sometimes more) and 2 to 6 people order each time so when I tell you that we know Pisa... well, we know them pretty well! First off... The Pizza! My father was a bit of a Pizza aficionado.. so I guess I'm a bit of one too. Maybe not as critical as him but he used to say it's hard to find a really BAD pizza or a really Great pizza. And it's really true. I've had lots of so-so pizza and a fair amount of good pizza but Pisa truly has a GREAT pizza. And I don't think anyone at my office will argue that fact. Some of them (and we work next door to another pizza place) will ONLY get pizza from Pisa. At all starts with the crust. many pizzas have a crust that if not eaten within 60 seconds of it coming out of the oven, it gets chewy. That's always a big turn off for me. 99% of the time Pisa's crust is thin, soft and perfectly cooked. It always gives you a nice fold and will hold well so you don't get the end-droop. The sauce is the star though. It's not too acidic and not too sweet. It's very flavorful with bits of oregano and tastes like a pizza sauce should. I've had many other good sauces but this one just has that special something. We often joke that they must be putting crack in the sauce because you always want more. (I don't think that's the case though) The toppings are also very tasty. Quality toppings is another sticking point when they don't taste fresh or the hamburger is bland. The only thing bad I can say about the toppings is that on occasion, they're a bit on the frugal side with the toppings. But maann, them's tasty! Now I see reviews that the crust was burnt or the cheese slid off during delivery... hey it happens on occasion. And that seems to be when people love to put in a review. But the staff is always kind and courteous and will always make it right. Next..The Subs/wraps/Paninis. I know they don't have a ton of items on the menu and the subs and wraps aren't anything earth shattering in their variety. They kinda stick to the basics with a few specialty wraps thrown in. But every one that I have had has been top notch. From the soft rolls to the fresh ingredients... you'd be hard pressed to find a bad apple in the bunch. And they crew at our office keeps ordering them so I'd say their subs are a pretty safe bet as well. The Wings... Well we've all had our share of chicken wings from Pisa, and with wings, I think that tastes vary a lot more. Some like them more on the dryer or crispy side and some prefer them drowned in sauce. I think they tend to go more toward the latter route and while they are tasty and tender, they aren't my faves in the wing dept. Oh, I'll eat them with a smile on my face! They are yummy, but I'd choose a different style of wing myself. Then there are the guys here that eat them every week and can't get enough. So are they good? I'd have to say yes. But depending on your preference, they may or may not be your go-to wing. The rest... Calzones, what can be said about the calzones that hasn't already been said about the pizza? They're basically wrapped up pizzas! Well, to a degree anyway but here's the skinny. They're huge and they're delicious. Need I say more? The mozzarella sticks are average for what you'd find in most decent pizza shops. I'll eat them all day long! The Salads are fresh and well proportioned and the toppings are just as good and fresh as what's in the subs. The fries are usually crisp and flavorful but best when eaten in the restaurant. The crew... Everyone I deal with on a regular basis is pleasant and professional. They always repeat the order back to me and on the very few occasions where they screwed-the-pooch on the order, they have been happy to fix it promptly. They have forgotten things on occasion, sent the wrong item a few times and once or twice even sent something that was not up to their usual standards. I can afford anyone an occasional mistake, because it's how you rectify the mistake which makes or breaks you and they have always been 5 star in that department as well. No ned to bash someone because you got peppers instead of pepperoni. It happens. Pick off the peppers and have a slice while they quickly send you out the correct order. And they are FAST. Sometimes we imagine there's a van around the corner with a pizza oven in it, cooking our order. They are often, that fast! All in all, the pizza is the star here. Forget the angry reviews because of a bad delivery experience. If you want some great Pizza and some really good subs, salads and sides... you could do a lot worse than Pisa! And try the wings! :) Just my 2 cents. read more

I absolutely love the food from Pisa Pizza. The subs, wraps, salads, calzones, and pizza are all good. I have been ordering from them for a long time. Have I ever got maybe a burnt pizza or a little under-cooked, sure. But they are consistent with getting great food out. My favorite thing to order is their Sicilian pizza. AMAZING. Pretty damn good. I've only tried it once but I think I shall again. We had a bit of a pizza party at work and we grabbed 7 pizzas. I my favorites were sausage and onions and peppers. They seem to get the ratio of toppings to pizza Juuuuuuuust right. Some places overdo it, some skimp you on toppings. I took leftovers home and there were even good the next day in a microwave. Was going out with a group in the area and was looking for a good inexpensive restaurant and came across Pisa Pizza on Yelp. We had 10 people so I called a day or 2 ahead and was told they didn't take reservations but that they would be aware we were coming in. I showed up a little early just to be on the safe side and they were on top of it- knew we were coming in and were ready to hold a table for us. They were super friendly and accommodating. They were even offering me things while I was waiting for my group! Then you get to the food! We ordered cheese pizza, breakfast pizza (my favorite), pisa deluxe, and honey BBQ grilled chicken- PHENOMENAL!!! Loved every bite! Wish I lived closer, but my waistline is probably happy I don't.
