    Their daily menu changes everyday.
    Errol J.

The past few weeks, I've been driving down Kingston Pike, right next to Costco. At the big intersection, I noticed some activity. First, I spotted a red food truck trailer, then massive smokers, and a woman chopping wood. Curiosity getting the better of me, I drove into the gravel driveway, which serves as the exit for pull up foundation of the business. As I stepped out of my truck, I was greeted by a friendly hello from Erin, the owner of Clean Smoked BBQ. She offered to help me and asked if they were open. I confirmed that they were, and she started telling me about their menu. They had everything except their Charro beans, which had sold out. Erin explained that Charro beans were one of their best dishes, featuring brisket burnt end beans, pinto beans, other meat I couldn't remember and a special sauce and seasonings that were rich with a hint of sweetness. I couldn't help but wish I could try them. I told Erin that I was definitely going to come back for them. I inquired about their tenure at the location, and they mentioned they'd been there for about two weeks. They were relocating from their Hardin location. The couple, Joe and his wife Erin , have high hopes for their new spot. The menu will feature daily rotations, with new items added as they gain popularity. One exciting addition they'll be introducing this Saturday is live music. They'll have an array of smoked meats, including turkey, chicken, wings, beef, pork brisket, and more. The aroma is intoxicating, and my wife and I couldn't resist trying three tacos. She opted for chicken brisket and pulled pork, each served on a hand made flour tortilla with pickle red onions and fresh cilantro. I chose the dry rub smoked chicken wings with sauce on the side. Both the dry rub and sauce were handmade. The wing sauce had a unique heat element that hit you immediately but then faded, leaving a wonder bite of acid finishing the complexity of the sauce. The dry rub was a well-balanced seasoning that made these incredibly crispy, moist, Smokey wings a staple choice for the future visits. We also had to try the Mexican rice, which was the perfect Mexican rice. It was topped with fresh grated cheese and cilantro. The rice was cooked to perfection, achieving an orange color as expected and being moist with a light and fluffy balance on your palate.A major takeaway from this barbecue was that the smoke was clean and distinct. You could taste it, but it wasn't heavy or lingering on the meat. It seemed to be an integral part of the meat's natural flavor. Most of their preparation, except for their barbecue, is done at the Amaryllis Taqueria, which they also own. If this food truck is a representation of the quality and taste of food at Amaryllis Taqueria, we're definitely going there soon. We're supporting this place for their enthusiasm, creativity, and most importantly, their barbecue. You won't be disappointed.

Food was AMAZING! We got the Loaded BBQ Pork Fries and half and half wings (sweet chili and garlic buffalo)! No complaints. Service was amazing - lady at the register was helpful and talkative! The ambiance at Kerns Food Hall only helps this food truck! We will be back.

We had been meaning to try Humble Hog as I'm a huge fan of smoked bologna so I was disappointed to find that is only served at lunch. Our server was attentive and super sweet. She made some solid recommendations and we took her up on them. We opted instead for a few small plates and my wife and I shared the brisket. We opened with lobster hush puppies and burnt ends. The burnt ends were terrific, well seasoned, wonderfully smoked and a fair portion size. The hush puppies lacked lobster but were still tasty and cooked made to order. From there we indulged in the chipotle smoke Mac and cheese, brisket and corn pone. The brisket was terrific and tender and well smoked, the Mac and cheese was SUPERB and definitely had a spicy little kick but the corn pone was awful. I understand that it's essentially cornbread pancakes but there was zero flavor and they were almost cold. I was looking forward to these because you don't see them on the menu many places abut they were not good. Cornbread served like this should be made to order and served hot and fresh. We finished with the banana pudding which was excellent and I think the finish the top with marshmallow fluff that they torch to give it a smoky taste. So when you head down to humble hog go at lunch and try the bologna, I bet it's amazing...and skip the corn pone.

After last night I'm not sure if we will ever return. We were seated outside at a table that was right in front of the in and out doors. We waited almost 15 minutes before someone came to wait on this. Honestly this would have been longer if my husband hadn't gone in to ask about a server for our table. Mind you, there were plenty of servers walking to help the other tables around us as we were waiting. Finally a server walked up, her name started with an A, and she was very flippant with helping us. I ordered a beer and my husband ordered water and son ordered a soda. We also went on and ordered since we had no idea when she would return for our order. She brought the water and soda but no beer and then we didn't see her (at our table) until our food came out. My beer came out with the food, a good 10 minutes after I ordered it. I know you may be thinking that the bar was backed up but her other table (that arrived after) got their drinks right away and also a 2nd order of drinks before I received my beer. She never came to check on us with our food and spent more time at the table that arrived with her friends. Her attitude and personality was vastly different with our table versus her friend's table. When it came time to get us our check. I saw her roll her eyes and walked towards us. I let it slide instead of calling her out on her actions as I just wanted to leave. We paid our check and left. I truly feel like this will be our last time here because of the service we received. We have many friends who travel to Knoxville for various sporting events (since I'm in that industry) and I always recommend Stock and Barrel. After last night, I'll be recommending some other place.

The calendar is on the web page. But why chase bad BBQ. This wood pellet (Traeger) grill smoked BBQ is dry. The smoke flavor is light to the point of being almost non-existent. The rub is okay, but when a brisket is this dry it's just not worth eating. The other meats are okay. The pork is probably the best thing, and it's just good not great. The ribs were okay too. The sides are about the only reason this has two stars instead of one. The mac and cheese is tasty and well made. The beans are good. Look, I don't write any reviews less than three stars and few less than four stars unless I have visited a place multiple times. Any place can have an off day, and I hate giving lower reviews to small businesses. But this is just NOT good BBQ. And, yes, I know a bit about BBQ, with deep roots in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, and Italy. I've cooked many briskets. Many. With wood. Cooked many pork butts and ribs. Tons. And so has my family (I have two relatives in the Dallas area who cater BBQ). So, this is not an area where I have no experience. Oh, and don't snicker at Italy in the list. I especially want to try the pork belly bites, but those are only on Fridays. I ordered the most popular dish, the gomer. I asked what the freshest meat was because the reviews varied. Many stated that there was a lot of dry meats, others report tender and perfect. My suggestion if you don't want to be disappointed is to ask what is the freshest for that moment in time. Pork was it today and it was delicious. I think next time I would rather get the meat plate as all the sides piled onto the pork was a bit over the top for me. I wanted to taste each item they have separately, but it was challenging being piled together. But that is what I get for picking the popular item and not what I think I would enjoy more. Gomer was $12. I see the cost has gone from $10, then $11 and now $12. I would not be willing to pay more than $12 but I understand the cost of food has gone up. Curious why the nacho is $16. If I understand correctly it is just the gomer with chips and cheese. I don't think that is worth $4 more. Maybe the quantity is more too??? Overall, I am happy with my first trip to Lloyd's and looking forward to pork belly bites in my future.
