Pulled pork sandwich and smoked sausage

If you've read my reviews before, you'll know I'm a KCBS Certified BBQ Judge and a serious BBQ enthusiast--which basically means I take this stuff way too seriously You might notice I've reviewed Clean Smoke before, so why am I back today? Well, today was the first time I've been there when they had smoked. I'm extremely picky about smoked sausages and always prefer Texas-style over anything else around here. Today they had a jalapeño cheese smoked sausage... and it was absolutely delicious. I can't even properly express how good it was. So if you're reading this right now -- stop what you're doing and go get one. You won't regret it. The pulled pork sandwich is consistently delicious and a staple for me--but today, the smoked sausage completely stole the show. Absolute standout.

The past few weeks, I've been driving down Kingston Pike, right next to Costco. At the big intersection, I noticed some activity. First, I spotted a red food truck trailer, then massive smokers, and a woman chopping wood. Curiosity getting the better of me, I drove into the gravel driveway, which serves as the exit for pull up foundation of the business. As I stepped out of my truck, I was greeted by a friendly hello from Erin, the owner of Clean Smoked BBQ. She offered to help me and asked if they were open. I confirmed that they were, and she started telling me about their menu. They had everything except their Charro beans, which had sold out. Erin explained that Charro beans were one of their best dishes, featuring brisket burnt end beans, pinto beans, other meat I couldn't remember and a special sauce and seasonings that were rich with a hint of sweetness. I couldn't help but wish I could try them. I told Erin that I was definitely going to come back for them. I inquired about their tenure at the location, and they mentioned they'd been there for about two weeks. They were relocating from their Hardin location. The couple, Joe and his wife Erin , have high hopes for their new spot. The menu will feature daily rotations, with new items added as they gain popularity. One exciting addition they'll be introducing this Saturday is live music. They'll have an array of smoked meats, including turkey, chicken, wings, beef, pork brisket, and more. The aroma is intoxicating, and my wife and I couldn't resist trying three tacos. She opted for chicken brisket and pulled pork, each served on a hand made flour tortilla with pickle red onions and fresh cilantro. I chose the dry rub smoked chicken wings with sauce on the side. Both the dry rub and sauce were handmade. The wing sauce had a unique heat element that hit you immediately but then faded, leaving a wonder bite of acid finishing the complexity of the sauce. The dry rub was a well-balanced seasoning that made these incredibly crispy, moist, Smokey wings a staple choice for the future visits. We also had to try the Mexican rice, which was the perfect Mexican rice. It was topped with fresh grated cheese and cilantro. The rice was cooked to perfection, achieving an orange color as expected and being moist with a light and fluffy balance on your palate.A major takeaway from this barbecue was that the smoke was clean and distinct. You could taste it, but it wasn't heavy or lingering on the meat. It seemed to be an integral part of the meat's natural flavor. Most of their preparation, except for their barbecue, is done at the Amaryllis Taqueria, which they also own. If this food truck is a representation of the quality and taste of food at Amaryllis Taqueria, we're definitely going there soon. We're supporting this place for their enthusiasm, creativity, and most importantly, their barbecue. You won't be disappointed.

Food was AMAZING! We got the Loaded BBQ Pork Fries and half and half wings (sweet chili and garlic buffalo)! No complaints. Service was amazing - lady at the register was helpful and talkative! The ambiance at Kerns Food Hall only helps this food truck! We will be back.

Best brisket I have eaten in Kville. Be prepared to wait as they are a 2 person biz, but know that it's worth it!

I'd really like to see more good BBW joints in the Seattle area. This isn't one of them…read more This mobile trailer is found at various locations around Snohomish County and at its base near the Reptile Zoo just outside of Monroe. The calendar is on the web page. But why chase bad BBQ. This wood pellet (Traeger) grill smoked BBQ is dry. The smoke flavor is light to the point of being almost non-existent. The rub is okay, but when a brisket is this dry it's just not worth eating. The other meats are okay. The pork is probably the best thing, and it's just good not great. The ribs were okay too. The sides are about the only reason this has two stars instead of one. The mac and cheese is tasty and well made. The beans are good. Look, I don't write any reviews less than three stars and few less than four stars unless I have visited a place multiple times. Any place can have an off day, and I hate giving lower reviews to small businesses. But this is just NOT good BBQ. And, yes, I know a bit about BBQ, with deep roots in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, and Italy. I've cooked many briskets. Many. With wood. Cooked many pork butts and ribs. Tons. And so has my family (I have two relatives in the Dallas area who cater BBQ). So, this is not an area where I have no experience. Oh, and don't snicker at Italy in the list. How did your whole goat cooked in a dirt pit turn out? How about that whole pig you cooked? Yeah. Thought so. Sorry, Lloyd's. This is not great stuff. Dang. I wish it were.

I especially want to try the pork belly bites, but those are only on Fridays. I ordered the most popular dish, the gomer. I asked what the freshest meat was because the reviews varied. Many stated that there was a lot of dry meats, others report tender and perfect. My suggestion if you don't want to be disappointed is to ask what is the freshest for that moment in time. Pork was it today and it was delicious. I think next time I would rather get the meat plate as all the sides piled onto the pork was a bit over the top for me. I wanted to taste each item they have separately, but it was challenging being piled together. But that is what I get for picking the popular item and not what I think I would enjoy more. Gomer was $12. I see the cost has gone from $10, then $11 and now $12. I would not be willing to pay more than $12 but I understand the cost of food has gone up. Curious why the nacho is $16. If I understand correctly it is just the gomer with chips and cheese. I don't think that is worth $4 more. Maybe the quantity is more too??? Overall, I am happy with my first trip to Lloyd's and looking forward to pork belly bites in my future.

We also got the corn salsa and the habernaro salsa, which were both delicious. They were at the South Side garage when we found them, so we got some kombucha and an old fashioned that did not disappoint. Cody was manning the truck that day and he was so friendly, helpful and knew all about how to veganize their food and made any necessary adjustments. He even came into the garage to double check on preparation for us. He gave us service that was exceptional. The food was delicious and we need to find CM again stat! Loved the location and the ambiance of the Garage as well. The one downside is that the "location" calendar was a little hard to use since I wasn't familiar with some of the places listed on it and didn't know where those places were since there weren't address on many of the listings. But, I'm sure that's a software issue they have no control over. If you see the truck, stop! It's worth a visit.

When I went to the truck to order, there was no line. In talking with the owner (I presume), he was very curt with me. For example, when I politely asked about whether they would be in Oak Ridge later in the week, he said "Ugh...I have no idea." After ordering 2 Tropichops (chicken/rice/salad), I expected the food within a reasonable time. Unfortunately, they were VERY VERY slow. I'm talking over 45 minutes to prepare simple "food truck" food. When I approached the truck to inquire about the long delay, the owner was (again) quite rude. He never once apologized for the delay or even thanked me for my business. Overall, I am super disappointed. Crazy Cubans slow speed meant that my food from the other food truck went cold. Moreover, the Cuban entrees I tasted were some of the weakest and most inauthentic Cuban meals I have ever tried. And I know what I'm talking about. I have eaten at the best Cuban restaurants in Miami and Puerto Rico. Overall: Avoid this food truck. The food isn't that great and the owners are rude.
