The food reminded me those sandwiches and dishes I had in Greece, especially foods you pick up on the go. The sauces were all pretty good and I loved the spinach pie/zucchini fries/haloomi cheese! I'm so glad they're in town. For starters, the decor and aesthetic of the establishment makes it look so inviting and like nothing else around. I have had the Merida plate that consists of your choice of meat, rice, salad, hummus, and pita. I have also had the pita that comes with fries. Both are delicious. You know how it is when you and your friends plan a dinner night and it takes forever for someone to decide where to go?? So you end up at the same old place just because you know how the food is and you aren't in for any surprises. Well this time I took control and suggested this restaurant because I've been eyeballing it since it opened and have been dying to try it. Gotta pat myself on the back this time because OMG the food is delicious!! The kid at the counter (wish I had gotten his name) was so sweet and helpful in explaining the menu and making suggestions. I decided on the Pork Pita with a side of GR Fries and the GR Salad. The pita was heaven!! Stuffed with tender pork, fries and the tzatziki sauce!! What a combination! The GR fries were good...nothing spectacular but if you love fries like I do....it's hard to find bad fries anywhere! The GR salad was deeelish!! Big chunks of tomato, purple onion kalmata olives,cucumber. My friend got the cabbage and kale salad with rotisserie chicken! Big portions! For dessert we tried this Greek yogurt with baklava. The yogurt was perfectly tart...just the way I like it! The service was spectacular. Everyone attentive and nice. I will definitely be returning here with my family. I really like the food here but can't same the same for the services; terrible service. I tried calling in advance to place my order so it'll be ready by the time I arrived. The young girl (she said her name was Eva) who answered placed me on hold for 5 minutes, I called again and she said they were super busy but that she needed one more minute so laced me on hold again, this time for another 10minutes, by this time I had actually arrived at the place. There was only one table in the entire place, but she insisted they were busy, which was not the case. While waiting for my food, I noticed that the cook stepped aside and wiped his sweat with a paper towel, but didn't change his gloves afterwards. I alerted the young girl of what I had just seen and asked her to ask the cook to change his gloves, she responded by saying " oh I'm sure he did " . I was in disbelief of her response; she wasn't watching the cook. I won't be coming back here for sure. read more

What I have a problem with is the man with the dodger cap at the register. He was very slick and up charging without telling us. We asked for a lamb dinner he said what style lamb would you like. We said whatever you recommend and then he charges five dollars extra for lamb chops. Which is fine but it's not listed on the menu. The portion was extremely small(3 small chops) for $20. My gyro(yeero) plate was not available as a sandwich . (I really thought that's what that sliced meat wrapped pita was called), it was listed on the menu for $15 that comes with salad , rice and choice of dip. I was told if I want a gyro "yeero" sandwich I would have to order everything ala carte. That would be $26. My sandwich was mostly fries and little meat. Whatever, I can't say I have ever been to a restaurant that I felt taken advantage of from the moment I walked in . I miss the old restaurant, there were lunch combos and you could eat like a king for less than $15. You were treated nicely and felt like it was home made food. I will not go back. read more

Hopefully the owner or manager reads my review because I want to keep eating here . Prior visits everything was great, but today I noticed the restaurant was not clean , there is a young man with long hair at the cashier and kitchen due to sanitation he should have all his hair up. Then when we received our food our pork and chicken skewers were not cooked well they were pink and hard from the inside (we did not eat them) thats $50 not well wasted. I did notice that there has been a change in the staff and it has affected the restaurant especially the kitchen cooks. read more

Oh my goodness. This place. We went here after my husband saw pictures of their yogurt on Instagram. First of all, when we walked in the gentleman at the register was soooo nice and so helpful. Really outstanding service. His kind and helpful suggestions really set the foundation of a great visit. He was really knowledgeable and seemed to be really invested in our experience, letting us know what was in the food, which plates are most popular, etc, all initiated by him. He also gave my husband a sample of yogurt because he mentioned he saw a picture on Instagram. I was already excited to eat because of this interaction. But then came the food. WOW! I loved the flavors. I love Greek food, I've been to Greece, I've tried a lot of Greek restaurants, and this place was great! I'm coming back ASAP. The only thing I didn't like was one of the dips that came with our plate was heavy on a horseradish flavor but maybe that's my own personal problem. read more

This was my favorite place to come for lunch time, my husband introduced me to it when it was Cafe Opa. Loved the chicken pita sandwich and the opa fries and that house sauce, to die for. I was surprised when they closed it for renovations but it's finally open and of course I had to come see what's new. I'm so happy Pita GR opened so close to my house because we really needed a really good Greek restaurant. Sure, there are others, but this one is by far my favorite. the customer service is great and they're always smiling. I love that their menu is both in Greek and in English. I've had their pork souvlaki pita, the lamb merida, their meli (wildflower honey) greek yogurt, and their baklava greek yogurt. The pita is perfect for lunch, but if you want a bigger dinner portion, get the merida. I couldn't even finish it because it was a very generous portion. The staff was very patient in explaining the menu to me and helping with suggestions. It is a bit pricier, but honestly you're paying for quality and, trust me, it's well worth it. They even have a kids menu. I recommend their tirokafteri dip if you want a bit of spiciness. Their fries are also delicious, just fyi, and they place their souvla potatoes under the rotisserie chicken so they absorb all the juices dripping down - so good. Their frozen greek yogurt though, omg it was soo good. It's definitely not your typical froyo and I highly recommend it. Oh and they have some interesting homemade drinks too. The decor is very nice and modern with a lot of natural light and space. They also have an open kitchen concept which was nice. There's a huge parking lot too so plenty of parking! There really is nothing bad I can say about Pita GR; they're doing something right, and by something, I mean everything. read more

Been here a handful of times already now because it's that good! We've tried the pita sandwich, Merida plate, lamb chops, the salads, the dips are beyond I can't get enough of the eggplant dip so delicious! The iced coffee is really good too. And of course the pita bread itself is different than every other Greek restaurant, its so soft, warm and buttery, yum! The service is very friendly and efficient as well. I ended getting the chicken merida, I can say the quantity of chicken was not a lot, of anything they filled it up with carbs. The chicken was dry and had a plain taste. Ended up getting the dip samples and they were great. Pricing does not match the quantity your getting but they have great service though. So it's pricey for something simple and small. I wish I could give a thorough review of their entire menu but after being here three times (in two weeks) the husband and I can't seem to venture from our regular orders; which is to say the food is just delicious! Husband gets the lamb plate and I usually get the sweet potato salad with their rotisserie chicken on the side. Husband loves the lamb and their chicken is so flavorful and moist, plus I'm basically addicted to the crunchy chickpeas that come in the sweet potato salad. And if you have a sweet tooth you MUST try their soft-serve frozen yogurt!!! The wildflower honey and cherry flavors were my fave! Staff makes you feel so welcomed and is very helpful. So glad to have a place like this in Downey! Needless to say we'll be coming back. read more

Randomly found this place on our way to Disneyland! Now after trying it, we'll be stopping EVERY time! Only $8-$10 for a pita wrap AND it comes with fries! Easily 2 meals for me! Vegan/vegetarian options if you modify! I got the sweet potato pita with hummus! The crunchy garbanzo beans were my favorite part! The staff was so kind as well! The gentleman who took our order sparked great conversation and was probably one of the nicest people I've ever met in food service. Even offered of samples of frozen yogurt and baklava while we waited for our food. It was also in a nice to go container which made it easy to eat while driving!
