Visit during happy hour! The happy hour deals are amazing, both for food and drinks. The HH food is tapas-style so I love ordering a ton off the menu to share with friends (which is doable because they are SO reasonably-priced). They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan menu items. We really enjoyed the different flavors of hummus and the bread was warm and delicious. My wife decided to order the chicken tikka masala, it was not as good as the last time we had it. I normally really love pita jungle. My fav is the regular hummus with the grilled chicken appetizer but as my meal. I decide to order DoorDash and their seasonal special White Bean hummus with shrimp and pita. Sounded delicious how ever when it arrived, it was SO SPICY it was inedible, and I really tried! I also ordered two of the seasonal desserts so that ended up being my dinner. When you are describing an entree, especially a new entree, the spice level is IMPORTANT. They really disappointed me. This spot is DELICIOUS!! 10/10 would recommend to anyone! I came here with two friends who had amazing reviews so I was not disappointed! We ordered the chicken shawarma with cauliflower rice, hummus, pita chips, chicken shawarma pita, and the gyro. I would come back here for the food alone. The prices were great for the amount of food that was given and the portion size were pretty big. Getting cauliflower rice is an additional 1.59 but it's worth it in my option. A lot of places have bad cauliflower rice but this was very tasty with a tumEric/ curry seasoning. The service was amazing and our waitress was soooo sweet and had the best attitude and checked on us a bunch of times. The ambiance inside is super modern w/ really cute artwork all around the interior. The vibe inside for lunch was great and all the employees were very outgoing. I usually love pita jungle but this one on mill is lacking. I asked for no onions but got onions. The server was less than attentive considering there are only 12 people in here. She has the skills of a new server but implied to me she's been here awhile. We waited at the door to be sat for awhile while this same server just looked at us. She had the bartender seat us which she clearly could have done with the 3 tables total in here. Just saw her name on check, Gianna. When I suggested this place to my Co worker I knew I wanted to recreate the "bowl" I had at Scottsdale Mall location. How do you ever go wrong with Pita Jungle? When I am in the Tempe area craving for something healthy, this is my go to. I'm a fan of trying new places but I also like to visit my staples. Pita Jungle is definitely a staple in my restaurant rotation. Speaking of staples - their hummus is my favorite. I can't get enough of it so I order it with grilled chicken and have that as my meal sometimes. I also like to get cucumber slices to eat with it because there are days when I'm looking for that extra crunch in my food. Then there are days when I'm feeling weird and I cut up cucumbers and tomatoes and mix it into the hummus and chicken. Mmmm... thinking about it right now makes me hungry. My fiance likes the lavash pizzas there - his favorite is the chipotle chicken. I tend to steal a slice or two when he orders it. I like the new location, it looks great inside and has lots of space! Also some nice patio space. But the lack of parking is a real pain in my rear. If they have any parking, it's hard to find because I didn't see a parking lot or any parking spaces. We had to park in the metered parking about a block away. Not a huge inconvenience, but enough to make it less appealing than other restaurants. The food was great, as usual. I ordered my usual broiled chicken salad. My dining companion got the spicy chicken wrap, which was a LOT larger than he was expecting. One thing that has always annoyed me is that when you order their hummus appetizers you basically HAVE to order an extra pita, or you won't be able to eat all the hummus. Why can't they just give you enough pita in the first place and factor that into the price of the appetizer... I just hate that feeling of being nickel and dimed. read more

**Vegetarian Friendly** So many vegetarian options, that I didn't know how to pick! I made it in time for happy hour, and it's a great happy hour! Tons of their appetizers in tapas form ranging from $1-2. Tapa: Hummus Trio Plate of traditional, roasted red pepper and jalapeno cilantro hummus. All of which were fantastic! I really enjoyed the freshness of the cilantro. Tapa: Garlic Dip Not sure what this was made of, but it was just as delicious as the hummus! Not too overpowering of a garlic. Tapa: Falafel Comes with two falafels, and they were perfectly crispy. I really enjoyed these with the hummus trio. Entrée: Red Quinoa with Cilantro Jalapeno Hummus Such a light and healthy salad, yet filling enough for dinner because of the hummus. I wish they had pita chips on the side instead of blue corn chips, but it was still delicious! They also have an entire section of vegetarian sides to complement your entrée. Also, great service! Oh, Pita Jungle. Your genuine and friendly service is the best thing you have going for you! My husband and I each had a cup of lentil soup and split an order of Hummus with Chicken - red bell pepper, of course! We replace the pita with cucumber slices and the cukes were English, which means more skin, and less flesh. As well, they were dry and rubbery, as if they had been sitting out sliced for a while. We've been Pita Jungle patrons for many years. Sadly, the portions and food quality have dwindled while the prices have continued increasing. That's ok, it's to be expected when chains expand, right? Well I'd also expect a great bathroom and parking situation and this location fails on both points. I can't say if it was just this day, but the bathroom smelled overwhelmingly of urine; I was looking at all of the surfaces trying to find the source, but ended up holding my breath while the paper towel dispenser vomited 3in sections of paper (no chance I'm touching that door handle!) There's also no designated parking, even though the very classy Jack in the Box next door has its own marked spaces. The location is on a very busy corner of Mill and University, so parking is already scarce. Come on, Pita Jungle. I throw enough money your way that you don't have to make the healthy dining experience painful. My husband and I will be trying other places before returning here, sadly. Pretty good place! Friends who live nearby asked me to meet them there and I was literally expecting a place like the Pita Pit. Who knew I would find a full-service restaurant and bar that had a great atmosphere! Really was an awesome time! I enjoyed the chicken platter that had a good piece of chicken on top of hummus with veggies. It was really tasty! The pita bread was much better than any pita bread I've had in the past and I really enjoyed the avocado hummus with blue corn chips (basically guacamole but creamier). Ahh how I love Pita Jungle so much! I don't live in AZ so a month ago when I booked to go there for work, I knew that Pita Jungle would be on the list. I went twice to the Tucson location last week and before leaving the state, had to stop in the Tempe location for one last delicious meal! I really liked the vibe at the Tempe location, it's different than the others. I think that with it being on campus, it's got more of a trendy and hip vibe. The bar area is neat and there's a younger crowd vs the other locations that I've been to. Of course the food was delicious. I went for one of my favorite dishes, seared ahi Tuna over 2 dips. This time around I went for baba ganoush and the red pepper hummus. Instead of plain Pita bread, I had it with cucumbers and Pita chips. Those pita chips are to die for! The service at Pita Jungle is always exceptional and everyone seems very happy to work there! This past Friday, Stephen was my server at the bar and he was great! He recommended dips for my dish, was very pleasant and best of all, he gave me a refill on my Diet Coke in a to go cup. Not being used to the AZ hot, I definitely appreciated being able to take a cold drink with me! Everything at Pita Jungle is fabulous, I've never come across anything that I didn't like. I'm am so tired of giving this place a chance. There are quite a few reasons why I'm on the verge of totally writing this place off. I'll try to hit all of them based on my visit today. I decided to come here today because the last time I came, the gyro was so good. They took the time to PROPERLY brown the meat it was so juicy and even had some crispies on the edges of the meat. They sauced it right and the veges added were fresh and looked properly stored and not for too long. The Pita was fresh and did not rip when I picked it up. It had been a while since the last time I went through this same thing so I decided to give them another chance. BIG MISTAKE. I hope this food doesn't make me sick today but I am starving and will eat a horse and don't have time as I have to get back to work. Waited 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me at the Togo counter. The man working there seems to not enjoy working with customers as he walks around and does not smile, does not acknowledge you like say hi or welcome to pita jungle... nothing. If you say hi he stares at you with burning eyes. I'm like ooookkkaaaayyy... So today I ordered the same thing, and we waited for a good 20 minutes before I started wondering were my food was. Oh it had already been brought out but just sat there behind the counter with a bunch of other food while the man who takes Togo orders put together a huge order. Finally he handed it over (probably sat there a good 10 minutes) and back to work I went. I got back to my desk to eat it. Opened it up and knew immediately it was not right. Tried to pick it up to eat it and it fell apart because 1. It sat too long 2. Pita bread Was SOGGY due to wet tomatoes and too much sauce. 3. Was COLD 4. Lettuce was wilted 5. Asked for extra pickles and didn't get them 6. The meat looked flaccid and not fresh and 7. It was just all thrown together with no care of how it would look. I'm so hoping I don't get food poisoning just by the way this looks. Terrible food, inconsistent, terrible service, workers seem unhappy and there is no sense of urgency during lunch. When I come in I feel like I am not a wanted customer. I WILL NOT be going to this location ever again. I love Pita Jungle of the old days.
