I've eaten here twice. One time the staff was friendly, the next time, not so much. The ordering process is like Subway's: pick your pita, pick your toppings and sauces, the only difference is you pay first. It is not cheap, but it is certainly not bland. I got the Philly Cheesesteak pita with no extra veggies other than the peppers and onions that come with a philly, and I had them top it with their chipotle sauce. YUMMMMM! The pita bread isn't those hard, crusty rounds, it is a soft, warm bread wrapped around what ever stuffing you chose. The meat was well-flavored, the sauce was the perfect level of spicy. This place is pretty good and tasty, but some issues persist. 1. Small portions for the price. Expect to drop 5 bucks and still be kinda hungry. 2. Others have mentioned this, but the ordering process is rather chaotic. 3. Lots of things cost extra, when they either should not cost extra, or should not cost as much extra as they charge. 4. MY GOD there summer hours are awful. They had certain hours posted and twice I went there when they should have been open only to find them closed. On a seperate occasion, I asked why they would close early. The employee told me that sometimes the closers close early if it is slow that night. As a former closer at my previous jobs, I can sympathize with the desire to close early, but closing when you should be open is really unprofessional and leads to people driving way out to your place and getting pissed when they find you're closed. read more

The food is great here with a variety of healthy options. The employees, however, make me not want to return. I've been in Chico 5 years and the staff has become less professional every year. The owners need to do a better job looking at hygiene and an employee's ability to follow procedure. The current employees have great personalities, but they lack cleanliness and it deters desire to eat once inside the restaurant. I specifically want to mention an employee with the worst attitude and who clearly has no business working in customer service. He is a bit larger with dark hair and never seizes to cut the sarcasm short. From the moment you walk in he "greets" you in his monotone sarcastic voice. He regularly makes mistakes forgetting toppings and he acts like you are paining him by ordering a pita. I'm sure working at pita pit isn't the dream, but he could at least patronize his customers during the short 3 minute interaction he has with us. I went here for the first time this afternoon. The gentleman working was very friendly and knowledgeable. I inquired about the vegan options, and he was quite helpful. I wound up with tasty falafel on wheat pita loaded with lettuce, spinach, onions, cucumbers, green peppers, carrots, tomatoes, black olives, pickles, alfalfa sprouts, hummus, salt, pepper, and sundried tomato pesto vinaigrette. I'd definitely return again. I appreciate the vegan options. I also love that the website has very clearly marked which ingredients are vegan and lists calories for all ingredients. The place is hands down delish. So damn good, sober or tipsy or buzzin' with a cravin'. I have had the falafael pita and the babaganoush cause I was a vegetarian at the time (why I cannot comment on the meat fare) and my taste buds and my belly were so very happy. Service is not consistent, but college kids cycle through there like a ferris wheel, so don't expect more than you get. But the food is fresh, rolled for convenience (pitas otherwise break, don't you know?), and they are open late. I wish they were a chain across America. read more

Not terrible. For the price I won't keep coming back. $9 for one wrap is too much. Ordered online and at first it said my card could not be validated. So I waited and then tried again later and it went through fine. Looked at my bank account and there was a charge and a refund for the amount that could not be validated. exactly like one of the reviewers said, you seriously cannot go wrong with pita pit. their food's absolutely delicious (and healthy -- well, that depends). but yes, it's so good. when i used to work close by on 3rd and chestnut, this was one of my usual lunch spots. the chicken pita was a usual. just soooooo good! i don't know how they do it, but they just do it, it's seriously yummy good, especially with the tzatziki dressing. yummmm! read more
