Unfortunately, it seems management or ownership has changed. They skimp on every little thing, nickle and dime you for extra sauces, hummus etc and the pita's come out tiny. The ingredients that used to be behind a clear plexiglass are now hidden, I'm assuming to deter customers for asking for more ingredients.... Feels like Chipotle when they first opened vs today. There are families in here dining and lots of kids and they are blasting the worst music ever for kids to listen to on the speakers in the restaurant, such as Big Sean - "I Don't F*ck With You" This song alone blares about 90 cuss words and talking about sex & drugs. Then after that Usher "I Don't Mind" talking about girls taking their clothes off for money. Music is playing very loudly so anyone inside eating or ordering can here it. Really thought this was a family establishment being ran here. Very disappointed and will not be supporting this place on my frequent mammoth trips! In Mammoth Lakes for a few days and staying near the Village. There are a few sit down food options there but wanted something more grab and go. I had previously been to a Pita Pit in San Luis Obispo (now closed). On this visit both my friend and I got bowls with chicken, brown rice, quinoa and spinach. I had a falafel pita, and my husband had spicy chicken pita. They both were extremely tasty and well rounded with all the greens and flavorful sauces. Valeria helped us with a smile on the face. She even showed me how they wrap the pita. I was able to eat the whole pita without dropping stuff out of the wrap. read more

Very fun ambiance, great rewards if you download the app ($5 dollars off first purchase), and they're cooked per order so the food is fresh and even offers GF wrap. Because they cook to order, be sure to anticipate longer wait times. The lines can be long at this place. The app allows you to order ahead and schedule pick up if you're in a pinch for time. Not much seating to dine in if you're with a bigger group. Overall highly reccomend just be aware of the wait times. read more

Working on building a new Hotel the Limelight just west of the Village, i have walked by so many time dismissing the place, PENTA the GC builging the hotel had a Foremans training day and had it catered by the pita pit, OMG this gave us the chance to sample several types of sandwiches, my favorite was the cowboy steak quesadilla I had three pieces, and a couple other sandwiches. The food had so much flavor that I am so upset that I have not been to this place earlier, I've been in Mammoth for nine months working on this hoteland I had so many missed opportunities, but I'm still have three more months to enjoy this fantastic restaurant. The staff was very responsive. I visited the place for the first time for lunch, which is difficult since we only have 30 minute break, Food was prepared in a timely manner. They are not underrated but don't ignore this place with less reviews. The enthusiastic staff and crew have great food to offer. You can pretty much mix and match the ingredients even if you pick up something from the menu. We ordered chicken souvlaki wrap, fajita wrap and falafel on rice bowl. Overall great portions for lunch. I do recommend to try jalapaneo mayo. It changes the whole game for me. There is limited seating inside and outside but you can order takeout as well. They do have soda machine. There is a restroom inside for the customers. If you want to try Mediterranean Mexican fusion this place offers good food at great prices. read more

A taste of collegiate nostalgia in one of my favorite mountain towns! After enjoying Rock n Rye in the Village we were hungry and Pita Pit sounded perfect. I haven't had it since college and back then I used to order a monstrosity of a wrap with nearly every add in on the menu. The sucker barely closed, and after a few bites I would be forced to turn to a fork and knife in order to be civilized. This time I didn't have the capacity to read beyond the prefabbed combos available and settled on a Thai chicken pita. I don't recall what was in it exactly, but it had chicken, fresh cucumbers, spinach and a yummy peanut sauce, plus something spicy that nearly floored me! Each bite was pleasurable pain, and it's good that I'm into that, because for the unsuspecting would get their butt kicked by the heat level. I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars here. I upped it to four because the staff was courteous, friendly and quick, and that's super important when you have a line that literally stretches out the door. On the other hand, the meal itself was just ok. Compared to yesteryear, the sandwich was light on chicken, and that's really what I want in my sandwich. Still. My two stars are for service as the person on the phone was friendly. I should have known not to order when I asked if they were busy at peak dinner time and they said no. One of the best decisions we made this past weekend was to come here after horrible experience at 53 Kitchen and Cocktail. Came down the mountain from a long day hike and we were craving for food. Had bad service or non existent in this case at 53 kitchen cocktail. So we left and went over here. Staff at Pita Pit greeted us with smile right away. Took our orders immediately. Offered suggestions and had staff ready to make the pitas. Was very accommodating. The veggies tasted fresh and the pitas were warm and toasty. The hummus was delicious. Our favorite is the falafel.
