This is probably the cheapest food option you'll find in the Village but it is oh so good! We were famished after a long day of skiing and hiking so we got a few of their wraps. Comes in a small or regular size (go for the regular for a few bucks more). The chicken pesto is delicious. The chicken is grilled perfectly, feta cheese, lettuce, roasted red peppers, & greek seasoning. The Sriracha chicken wrap is good but it is SPICY. The Buffalo chicken is yummy! Grilled chicken in buffalo sauce, lettuce, green peppers, Pepper Jack, with ranch dressing. Of course, we had to get the falafel. This was amazing. That tatziki is the bomb. Service is fast. If a 5 star is left by someone, it only leads to the verdict that that individual has never tasted what a pita or a gyro should taste like. I grew up on Pita Pit in college, and as soon as I saw the sign, I started craving the satisfying, savory vegetarian pitas stuffed with veggies and grilled items. A bug addition since my last visit was Beyond Meat crumbles, which is a great option if you're vegetarian and looking for an extra bit of protein. Pita pit basically works likes subway, where you put together your own pita or salad. Note that in the salads, they don't compensate for the lack of pitas with extra greens, so the salad is more like pita stuffing without the pita. This was our go to place in Mammoth when we wanted a fresh but satisfying lunch or quick dinner. It is extremely busy, especially at lunch, and when we visited, almost nobody was wearing a mask inside, so if you are keen to avoid crowds, consider ordering on their online app like we did. read more

Came here and got a "classic pita chicken sandwich" little did I know that that meant a salad. Half of the "sandwich" was just straight up lettuce and tomato and maybe a few pickles. I was here to quickly grab some lunch. We ordered online and picked up. The line for pickup was long so gave us some hope. This place is good. Not the best but its good. I got the sriracha pita which was okay, a bit different from what I was expecting but I liked it. I didn't like the pickup experience. They mentioned on a sign that they are allowing only 7 people inside but there were definitely more than 7 in and there was no one to regulate the traffic. We had a pita pit back in Santa Barbara, but it had closed down. Happy to be able to visit this one while boarding at mammoth. The workers are super nice, and make delicious pitas! This place is really good! For being in a touristy area the prices are fair. A regular size pita is about $10. We tried the fajita and Philly cheesesteak. Both are delicious!! Very filling. Phenomenal food. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pita. I appreciated the way they wrapped the pita sandwich. When I make this at home, it tends to somehow always break or rip in the middle. Not this place. I don't know how they do it, but their pita sandwiches stay intact even after stuffing the ever loving love out of it. The service is excellent. My wife is a vegan and ordered the vegan pita. They were kind enough to change their gloves upon request that way no meat contamination touches her food. The set up could be a bit better, but that's a management thing. The right side of the kitchen is super bottle necked. The employees here are fantastic and literally bust their butt. Pita place or dystopian scene? We ordered food on line and upon entering the store to pick it up witnessed a truly bizarre scene. Three employees milled around behind a counter without even acknowledging us (standing at the register) for a full 12 minutes. One was preoccupied with something below the counter (right in front of us), while the other two were apparently overwhelmed with the task of creating a Caesar pita for the one other customer in the restaurant, a 50+ year old man who looked on with obvious angst and fear as he watched his sad dinner item take shape in ultra slow motion. We finally interrupted the defocused silence of the scene by asking about the status of our order. The employee who had been fixated on something below the counter without so much as an "Ill be right with you" finally had a spasm of customer awareness and told us it had been ready this whole time. The jaw dropping ambivalence of the staff, who milled around like zombies, did not instill confidence that the food was prepared with care. Came here for a quick dinner last night with some friends. We've always passed by this restaurant walking toward the gondola to snowboard and we finally got to try it out. The Pita Pit was a mid evening pit stop before heading back to the hotel in town. I had the munchies, so I went print heavy impressive Dagwood Wrap. The Dagwood came with ham, turkey, and sliced and cooked prime rib on the griddle. Instead if cheddar, I went with feta cheese and asked them to add peppers and mushrooms to the tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and Dijon mustard the wrap already came with for around $7. Keep in mind you can keep ingredients from the long list of items they have on the menu. The wrap was warm, not only because they warm up the pita on the hot griddle if you ask them to, but because all the meats, the onions, peppers, and mushrooms were all heated on the grill and eventually mixed with the meats like a stir fry. The heat from the meats melted the feta a bit which was nice. All the meats, particularly the beef tasted very good. The freshness of all the other components were quite evident and taste good. I would say they needed to render down the mushrooms a little bit more but the onions were done on the grill just right. The two gents manning the Pit were cool and had good senses of humor, even after being there for a long day. read more
