Nice pit stop. Use a multitiude fresh, though average, ingredients to put together a custom-made pita. It's a nice change of pace from your standard subway, for a couple more bucks. You can go the vegetarian route, but I chose to load up on some shredded beef thing loaded with every spicy thing i could find on the menu - banana peppers, jalepenoes, chipotle mayo - and some melty cheese. We were looking for a reasonably priced healthy lunch spot. Looked on Yelp and decided we'd give this place a try. We are glad we did! First time visiting a Pita Pit and the menu looked good. Ordered a buffalo chicken pita and all I got was a chicken pita no sauce or hint that flavor was thought about while making my wrap. Mostly won't visit because I live nowhere near here, but in the future if I do, the employees should make their food according to what the menu specifies the item to include. read more

If you want something "healthy" or not heavy but not overpriced before your summer or winter activities at Mammoth, this is the place. The place is like a Subway but with a Pita. My pita was delicious and you can't beat the price for the amount of food you get when you compare it to other places at The Village. Definitely recommend it for a quick bite before and after activities. It is sort of confusing when you order though. My family and I stopped off in mammoth on our way to Yosemite. Looking on yelp for a good place to eat and found this place. The food here is really good. You go in and pick your choice of meat and choice of wheat or white pita. They grill your meat and if you want they will grill the veggies. Then you have your choices of toppings and sauces. And here's a plus... They don't charge extra for avocados!! The employees that work there are very helpful and nice. My family really enjoyed this place. Everyone finished their food and everyone was happy! Next time I stop off in mammoth, for sure I will stop by the Pita pit for a quick bite! read more

Rename it Subway. Associating this with Greek food is your first mistake. In fact, calling this heavily processed food Greek or Mediterranean is like calling McDonalds a Gourmet Hamburger place. The only saving grace is that you can soak up the alcohol you drank at "lack of nookie" and this is the only reason it rates 3 starts. read more

Pita pit is literally subway but a wrap version. It's affordable and fast. Would recommend anyone who doesn't want to spend $30 just for their food. The tzatziki sauce helped with the dryness of the wrap. I wish the sauce would be properly dressed with olive oil ,lemon juice, garlic, dill, and more cucumber. Good fresh pita sandwich. but the line was to the door, there was only one worker and it took almost 40 minutes to get my food to go. I would like to be able to frequent again, but I just don't have this kind of time on a to go order. The phone lines didn't work (rang and rang and rang) so I couldn't call it in. We are in Mammoth for a few days and this place came up as vegan friendly on google. My wife (the vegan) chose the falafel pita and was able to get exactly what she wanted, i.e. no onions, tomatoes, light on the tzatziki due to acid reflux. It was delicious. I had the Thai Chicken wrap and while it was spicier than expected I REALLY enjoyed it. Really friendly, fast service and good prices. You gotta try this place! read more

I got the BLT and the portion seems significantly smaller than the one I received in San Luis Obispo, but I think it is also slightly cheaper. The taste itself is still to my liking though. This is a fast food joint like subway where u order your meat, pay for it, then stand in line for the worker to put all the ingredients that u want in. The choices of "toppings" as they call them are the same as subway with the addition of artichoke hearts and mushrooms. The sauces are more carried with choices like hummus, spicy hummus, chipotle, mango habanero, pesto, and more. Every time I'm in Mammoth I always make a stop at Pita Pit!! I love their Chicken and Chedder cheese pita!! Their cookies are really good too. The best thing about Pita Pit is that its affordable, which is not something you usually see in a resort town like Mammoth Lakes or any other town with a large tourist attraction. Most shops and restuarants in the Village overprice their merchandise and there was nobody parked there even right before a holiday weekend on Independence Day! A couple of Summers ago we tried this place when all restaurants in The Village were packed and it was so good I tried to find one closer to home! We found one in Hermosa Beach which we did not like at all! It did not seem at all the same franchise, people were in a hurry, in a bad mood, upset if one asked any questions, didn't look clean, the pitas looked more like taquitos in size and the sauce was not the same! So waited to get back to the Minaret Rd one. Our first try was October 1st. We drove to Mammoth and planned to make it there before 5:00 PM which I thought would be closing time, but it was already closed! So, we kept on driving. Next time we tried, it was 4:30 PM and we couldn't believe that it was closed!!! My husband went to the door and checked the hours and closing time was 4:00! Against my mother's will; she said there was a reason we had not been able to eat there. We tried a third time... We arrived at 3:41 PM, plenty of time to get us 6 pitas. Door was locked, workers were inside making some pitas and wrapping them up. We knocked and showed them the time on our phones from outside. They waved to us with their hands that it was closed.
