Service & ambience 5/5. Got a lemon bar-4/5. It was soft and the shortbread was very thick which is how I like em. Got a cinnamon streusel & lemon raspberry muffin that were baked that morning. The muffin itself was dry and lacked flavor. I'm convinced it was a neutral batter with different icings on top. The muffins were hard by the next day. Mufffins 1/5. Got the bread pudding, which was quite delicious, the bread was soft, moist, and had good flavorful -5/5. Got a container of the raw cookie dough to make at home-chocolate chip flavor-the dough was very dry and upon scooping it out, we discovered it had shredded coconut in it! That's a no go for my family. Why would coconut be in chocolate chip cookie dough?! For $15 for the small container I felt ripped off given I did not get what I ordered. Overall the quality is not good and pricey to top it off. read more

We were looking for a fun little shop while on vacation with our 5 year old. Positives: The place is small with lots of cute local artisanal items on one wall available for purchase. There was lemon water to drink which was nice. Not so positive: Everything we got was dry and honestly, not that good. The most moisture laden item was a raspberry crumble bar but it was surprisingly not very sweet and kinda off putting. The scone was dry, the shortbread was dry, the bottom of my daughter's cookie was burned. Like pretty black. Maybe it was supposed to be that way? My wife wanted an espresso but the lady behind the counter explained they only had drip coffee. Our daughter asked the same lady if there was a cupcake available, and she said "nope, what you see is what you get." Nothing wrong with what she answered but her tone seemed like she was really annoyed by the question. My wife just wanted to leave but felt like it would be rude to leave without buying things and we like to generally support local businesses. Side note: We ended up going to Schatts bakery a half mile away later that day and had a way better experience with far better tasting baked goods. We wish East side luck but we won't be back. read more

We stopped in to visit this place again and our recent trip to Mammoth. The service was friendly as usual. My husband decided to try the bread pudding. He's used to getting bread pudding up in Portland, where they put a sauce on it. When he got to our condo, he made a quick cream sauce for the top and it was very good. I also bought a loaf of their sourdough bread made with real sour dough starter. It might be one of the only places in town that have it. A nice loaf of bread. read more

I walked in and was greeted almost immediately. The owner was so kind and they had a handful of options from Mac and cheese to muffins. I decided to get a raspberry muffin which was warm and sweet in the perfect way. The inside looked great with a sweet warm smell. I highly recommend coming here when visiting Mammoth. read more

I've learned that I have a highly sensitive nose for great bakeries. It helps that I started baking in grade school. I needed a loaf of sourdough bread so that's what I found at Eastside, however I was thrilled to find an amazing egg salad sandwich AND my all time favorite, bread pudding. All were exceptional. The muffin was high and puffy but a bit dry towards the bottom. Ended up only really eating the top half. Located right below the Mammoth Tavern. When you first walk in, you are welcomed with this fantastic smell that's just wafting through the air. It's the kind of smell that makes you want to buy every pastry in sight. But I opted for the Peach Almond bread pudding and the granola. The bread pudding was very dense and I didn't think it was that good to be honest. It lacked flavor. The granola was just ok. I was hoping it was something you could just grab a handful and munch on, but it feels more like a topping than anything else. Not sure what was in there, but it did leave a slight bitterness in my mouth. I don't know if I will come back here, though it smell incredible when you walk in, but the smell is not supported by the taste of the baked goods. read more

Nice people, wonderful baked goods. I wish they opened before 9. What bakery doesn't open until 9?

It was just okay. We expected more from the positive reviews but overall okay. They only have drip coffee.

Stopped by one morning to grab a quick pastry and was surprised at the variety of pasties they had. It was a very small shop but offered many goods. A lot of their pasties were just displayed out in the open. When I asked for a slice of their banana bread, one of the employees took the loaf to the back to cut me a slice. As I was waiting, I noticed that a fly land on one of the other pastries displayed. I still decided to go with my order and eat my banana bread though LOL. I didn't think they would give me the slice of banana bread from the same loaf that was sitting on display; I assumed that they would get it from the back or something. Other than that, the employees were very friendly and the banana bread was pretty good. read more

A cute hidden gem on the way to and out of Mammoth Lakes. Located at McGee Creek Lodge, it is a small bakery/cafe that has a small menu of breakfast items but plenty of baked goods. Wished I could have stayed for lunch since their simple lunch menu sounded good. Enjoyed the items we got and finished it all. I'm not a coffee connoisseur but iced almond latte was a little too sweet for me. I wish they had options for light sweetness but still good overall. The lady who took care of us was a one woman show and tried her best to take care of everything. She was sweet and very friendly. Someone complained about a fly landing on a pastry. Well it is the bugs u cannot see that will hurt u. Flies are annoying but a quick stopover flight won't spoil food. When the weather turns, like right now in Oct., the flies are gone & wont be back until summer. read more

Plus the coffee was lukewarm. All served by the owner who seemed miserable to even be there. Everything was served with a bitchy resting face. My wife and I have been driving past this shop for a few years on our trips to Convict Lake. Each time we drive by it is past 2 pm or on days it is closed. We were driving back to Orange county on Friday and made a point to get there when the shop is open. this place is excellent. We had the spinach, mushroom frittata and the dark chocolate spice cookies. there were so many other good things we did not get to try.
