We were really glad to find Stellar Brews. I ordered a chai latte and it honestly may be the best I've ever had in my life -- perfectly spiced, not too sweet, and just really comforting. The service from Carlos was great, too. He wasn't overbearing -- just genuinely kind, generous, and attentive in a low-key way that made the space feel welcoming. If you're deciding between the big coffee chains and this place, skip the chains and come here. We'll definitely be back. read more

I hate to give a bad review, especially for a small business but what we received today was completely unacceptable. We were on our way out of town around 9:30am and stopped to get coffee and grabbed an everything bagel with eggs and bacon as well as a turkey egg burrito from the grab and go section. The coffee was fine. The bagel was so hard and burnt that I could barely bite into it. I tried a couple of different spots and it was inedible. Whatever the egg puck was inside the bagel was hard and tasteless. The "bacon" was literally stuck to the bagel, I tried to peel it off and eat some but it didn't taste like bacon and was like leather. I'm having a hard time understanding why they would serve this? The burrito was just brought out from the kitchen. We bit into it and it was cold. The tortilla tasted fake. Again, why put this out there to purchase. Had we not been in a time crunch we would have turned around to show them what they gave us and request a refund. I've never thrown out food before but these were inedible. We typically visit the other two coffee shops when we were in town but thought we'd give this one a try. I know our friend's daughter has loved these beans for 25+ years. We ordered a mocha and a carrot cake muffin. The mocha was pretty good, kind of a medium chocolate flavor to it. The muffin was quite dry. We took off the bottom 2/3 of the muffin and tossed it but enjoyed the top third because the cream cheese frosting was delicious! I originally thought that the bomber bagel was a little pricy for what it is but this ended up being the most filling breakfast bagel I've ever had! I was so full I skipped lunch and had a light snack for dinner. This bagel is LOADED and the homemade pesto inside is amazing. I've also had a couple lattes from here- the turmeric one was not my jam (maybe an acquired taste) but I got the lavender one the day before which was solid. The staff were so nice, the coffee was so good and reasonably priced, and it's a got great seating both inside and outside. I got a drip coffee for like $3, and they give a full $1 off if you bring your own thermos!! They also charge only 10 cents extra for oat milk. There are gluten free and vegan pastry options that were really good (we liked morning glory more than the banana muffin). They had made to order breakfast as well as multiple grab and go items in the fridge. We came two days in a row, and it will def be our go to spot anytime we ski in Mammoth from now on. read more

Decided to check this place out after comparing a few other smoothie spots. We stopped by about an hour before closing, so it wasn't busy at all. There's a good selection of snacks, merchandise, and even some warm food available. The menu is straightforward, and it's nice that you can substitute ingredients in your drink if you'd like. Cute little cafe located in Mammoth!! My friends and I came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The line was out the door but it moved quickly! Workers were friendly & helpful. The inside is small, but there's also plenty of outdoor seating / benches. I got the Bomber Bagel, which was delicious! I chose the everything bagel for my bread. It came with a fried egg, tomato, spinach, cream cheese, and their homemade cilantro pesto. It was honestly the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. I don't know what they put in their pesto sauce, but it was SO delicious! I noticed some fresh garlic pieces in there which added so much flavor! I also got the spiced chai latte. I've been coming to Mammoth for many years and have actually met the owners of Stellar Brew--they are genuinely kind people. I also understand that the holidays can be challenging for any hospitality business. That said, I've visited twice recently, and both experiences were disappointing. There were very few customers in the shop, yet the service was slow and inattentive. On one visit, a refrigerated container had visible hair in it, which I pointed out to an employee. On another visit, it took over 45 minutes to receive just three items, while most of the staff appeared to be sitting on their phones, and there were no other orders being handled. If the place were packed, I'd completely understand. But there were only about four other customers at the time. That level of service simply isn't acceptable. It's unfortunate when great owners have to rely on employees who don't seem to take pride in their work. That's part of the challenge of the hospitality business--but it's also something that can and should be addressed. I share this feedback in hopes that it leads to improvement, because situations like this can quickly hurt an otherwise good reputation. read more

The third burrito had everything we requested it NOT to have, meaning it was a fully wasted $15. $15 for a burrito is crazy first of all but everything is expensive these days so won't judge it solely on the cost, but rather the quality. However the quality and taste of the burrito itself was not worth anything close to $15. It was below middle of the road for a breakfast burrito. Spend the extra bucks and grab a breakfast burrito up on the mountain, it will be bigger, hot and tasty. Definitely would NOT recommend or return. read more

Cute little coffee shop next to the gas station on a main street. The moment you walk in, you can feel that they were going for the homey and welcoming feel. There are board games and guitars that you are encouraged to play with. The staff greets you the moment you come in and are super helpful and kind. I came in to get some joe as I was about to head back home on a 6-hour trek and wanted some caffeine in me. I mapped out the local coffee/breakfast places in Mammoth and Stellar Brew kept coming up. I didn't realize that it was so close because it across the road from another spot that our group had been to. When we walked in I realized Stellar catered to backpackers-they had a rather large grab n go section where a lot of pre-made foods were available. It seemed like the only made to order items were the drinks. I'm not a coffee drinker so I went with one of their smoothies as a drink but then got one of their everything bagel breakfast sandwiches from their pre-made section. The smoothie seemed to follow the Jamba juice formula, juice with some fruits thrown in. While the breakfast sandwich was a little on the small side-kind of like their dine-in space. I ended up taking my food outside and finishing my semi-satiating food with the assist of a lot of their packaged Cholula sauces. Maybe the coffee here is good, but if you're looking for a breakfast option that ISN'T quick serve maybe go somewhere else. read more

Really cozy in here people just hanging around also outside they have some picnic benches under some nice shaded trees. I ordered a trail mix coffee drink very sweet and a bread pudding if you order it hot they pour over some hot cream over it. It has fig and honey over it which makes it sweet but the combination makes it taste really good it's really think to. The fig in top gives it a nice flavor. read more

Groovy babyyyy. The perfect way to start a day on the slopes! We recently hit up Stellar Brew while in Mammoth for a group birthday trip. This coffee shop serves up a number of quirky beverages, baked goods, and bites. I ordered the matcha mango beverage, a combination new to my tastebuds. The drink was sweet with an earthy aftertaste. I also got the turkey bagel sandwich, which was loaded with a ton of veggies and fresh thinly sliced turkey. The only bummer was that it was on the dry side. Some friends and I ordered breakfast here this past Sunday and the woman working the register told me it was a 30 minute wait for food. By the time the food actually arrived, more than an hour had passed. It was also just generally a bad vibe from the staff. We've been coming to mammoth for 6 years now and this was our favorite spot. The grab and go breakfast bagels were a live saver until the eggs were changed this year. Originally the eggs used were over medium or made fresh- but as of recently they have switched to the premade oven baked eggs. Assuming it's new ownership trying to make grab and go more efficient- but even the made to order bomber bagel features the baked eggs patty. Please bring back the old eggs read more
