    Pão de Queijo
    Damien S.

We had an amazing time at this new spot it's more of a Brazilian fusion. Everything we had was delicious and the wait staff and chef were very welcoming. We started with the must have Pão de queijo with a hot honey butter drizzle that was delicious.. followed with oysters with a mignonette that was so refreshing. The main course was a steak that's not pictured because I ate it as fast as it arrived. I asked the chef for a vinaigrette which the whipped up quick. It has a variety of items for all sorts of dietary restrictions. The drinks were so good, loved the Caipirinha. The dessert was also very good. Overall a great experience with friends, beautiful rustic layout and design with outdoor seating available. Definitely will be returning.

    Caipirinha de maracujá (passionfruit)

TLDR: Upscale but relaxed restaurant serving several very authentic and traditional Brazilian favorites along with some non-Brazilian but delicious items. Full disclosure: my wife is Brazilian and I previously lived in Brazil for 6 months. We made the drive over from Poughkeepsie for my wife's birthday. In the car on the way over, we took bets on whether or not the staff would be Brazilian. It turns out the owner is from São Paulo, but the staff were local. We were greeted and seated quickly and ordered caipirinhas. While we were surprised that there was no pitanga caipirinha on the menu, given it's the restaurant namesake, it's probably prohibitively expensive to source fresh pitanga from Brazil. Maracujá (passionfruit) is the next best flavor, in our opinion, so my wife ordered it. I got the traditional caipirinha. I regretted it, as the maracujá one was, predictably, immensely better. For appetizers, we chose two traditional Brazilian items, pão de queijo and coxinhas (on the menu as "chicken croquettes," which is a decently accurate description), and the burrata and tomato salad. 5/5 on both the Brazilian items...this is what they should taste like and brought us both back to Brazil. Also you will love both! My wife was happy to see vegetarian feijoada on the menu...feijoada is normally not a vegetarian dish, so she was able to try one of her favorites here that she can't always have in Brazil. The flavor was on point, but the dish was missing a slice of orange (we don't know if this is normally served that way or if it was just a mistake in the kitchen, but it should come with an orange slice). Even without the orange, the flavor was great. I ordered a burger because it sounded (and was) really good: it had a generous amount of goat cheese on the patty. The fries were forgettable, I recommend subbing them out. Because we were celebrating a birthday, the staff generously comped the rice pudding and thoughtfully put a birthday candle in to help it be more festive. Throughout, the staff were very helpful, especially facing the tide of questions one can only expect from people familiar with Brazil (thank you!). We even had one of the servers who wasn't our server check in a couple times. If you're looking for another awesomely authentic dish (we didn't try it because we don't eat seafood), I would recommend giving the moqueca a try. Judging by the description and how great the other Brazilian dishes tasted, I bet it is perfect. Moqueca has a very unique flavor and is super comforting. While there is street parking available in front, we missed the restaurant a couple times: if you're on your way, look for a dark gray / black building that looks like a house with a cute wooden sign out front.

What a great add to Gardiner! The restaurant looks like it's had some work done since it was Liquid Mercantile, and it looks beautiful on the inside. I had two drinks, the Pimenta rosa & an espresso martini. The espresso martini was brewed with an excellent Brazilian coffee... it was a top 3 martini for me. For dinner, I went with the moqueca (fish stew) and it was delicious! It reminded me a bit of Thai curry, but very unique, light, and just delicious. I would go back again. The staff was attentive and friendly.

Trendy second location of Pitanga in Brooklyn with locally sourced, Brazilian-inspired dishes, replacing the former Liquid Mercantile bar. Plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options. Only top commendations from our party on the entrees. For entrees, I can recommend the burger, which came with some dressed lettuce. Our group also loved the half chicken, fish stew, and sirloin. For appetizers, the cheese bread (pao de queijo) was warm, lightly cheesy, and served with something like a honey. The olives and rainbow carrots I thought were weaker: not as much flavor in the olives and the carrots were not rainbow today. It certainly felt like Brooklyn in the Hudson Valley, or at least Brooklyn prices and ambiance. I thought the portions were small for the price point in the area. Our group's cocktails were good, including my passionfruit Caipirinha, but none remarkable. For their non-alcoholic list, the Green Paradise (green juice) was better than the Beet It. Their service was attentive and excellent. Based on the filled dining room last Saturday, there's clearly interest in the successor to the highly reviewed Liquid Mercantile, and first impressions appear that Pitanga North will be just like it.

Great space. Excellent cocktails. Edible food. Yelp Review wants a minimum of 85 characters so there.

I went through the salad and hot side bar and tried a little of everything--black beans and plantains were especially good. Before checking out, I stopped at the grill for sausage, picanha, and brisket. The meat was perfect: well seasoned, tender, and clearly the highlight. Portions were generous, and the whole meal (including a tall passion fruit juice) came out to about $25, which felt like excellent value. The restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is casual and functional rather than fancy. Pro tip: pay attention to timing--when Mass lets out nearby, it fills up fast. Highly recommend, especially for meat lovers. Come hungry. I'd absolutely return.

LOUD! Strange menu of sorts (3-options), the way they do it with the weighing (and paying) and such: fixed menu, buffet and churrascaria I did the fixed menu and ordered the Bife à Cavalo. VERY fair and respectable prices for the portions served. No problem there! Had my dish had an 'actual steak' as I was expecting, and not a sheet of thin meat as you would find in a Philly Cheesesteak, the meal would have been 5-star -- instead just a 1! Was pleasantly surprised to find Brahma beer here in addition to a VERY finely prepared and large (not all ice!) Caipirinha! Excelente! The loud thumping EDM music was a bit much for me and like I said, I could have done away with the people all around me like at a wedding table during the dessert and dancing! I do every new place (to me) at least twice, but I'm in no immediate rush to return -- 'probably' will.

We were able to make a reservation, and the restaurant was kind enough to extend our reservation when we were delayed -- especially on one of their busiest nights of the week. Maria was exceptionally nice and helpful in making reservations. Food was delicious and enjoyable throughout all the courses. The Picanha and Beef Short Ribs were my favorites of the Rodizio. My parents split a steak entree and the salmon - the restaurant was kind enough to split both entrees on two plates for each of them. Both servings were generous. Had an Old Fashioned and a Caipirinha - both were excellent. They also have an extensive wine and whiskey menu. Service was pretty good. I would say the only hiccup was the food took forever to come, which seems strange for Rodizio. But I attribute the delay to the tardiness of two folks in our party, and a little inexperience of our server. But aside from that, he did a good job. We got to meet the manager Tatiana, who was fabulous - you can tell she cares about her craft, and the owner Joe, who was exceptionally kind and friendly. My niece and his son apparently went to the same school, so it was truly nice to make the acquaintance. I love to support small business, and it doesn't get better than this. I will make sure to stop here again soon - this was a fantastic experience.

I've heard that's common with Brazilian cuisine, but it was too salty for me. The paella was surprisingly small portion-wise compared to the way most restaurants serve it.
