I would have to guess that I had a slightly different service request versus most of the customers that come here. I had a tire purchased from another location and had to have it swapped for a defective tire (from another location) that was already on the rim. I called in advanced to confirm they would do that and they do. I also asked if they were busy right then and they said it wasn't too bad. They did estimate it would take about 40 minutes and...they were right. Luckily I had to drop a package at the UPS store and there's one about 5 blocks away - about a 12 minute walk. So, basically, by the time I walked there, dropped my package and came back, there were almost done. They took the time to check the tire pressure on all of my other tires, including the spare in the trunk. Based on this, I'd recommend giving them a try for whatever other services they offer. Needed new tires and wanted to upgrade the look of my truck so I came to this spot. The workers helped me choose a nice set of rims and tires. I was initially only going to level the truck with a 2" lift at the front, but they recommended to go 4" in the front and 2" in the rear. Boy am I glad I went for it. Now I ride nice and high and get compliments all the time. They also did an alignment and a couple of months later had me come back in and make sure everything was still nice and tight, they even did an alignment check. All is well. It's Friday afternoon and we had A car full of family headed for a weekend getaway. Got an alert one of the tires was low on air pressure. Headed to Costco thinking we could just inflate the tire to the correct pressure and head back on the freeway. Shortly afterwards, we notice the air pressure is declining rapidly so we look for the nearest tire repair shop and head over to Pitt Stop in El Segundo. Walked in and explained the situation and the guys were quick to assess the issue - I had a deep crack in the side wall and totally unrepairable. UGH! This tire is one of those low profile tires that require a special order so at this point, we were already contemplating a number of options including canceling the weekend plans. Luckily, Pitt Stop had our specific tire inventory (not a run flat but at this point we were happy they had our size). They did a great job explaining what had happened, what needed to be done and how much it would have cost. We greenlit the work and they were done within 20 minutes and off to continue our weekend road trip. Kudos the the Pitt Stop team for the great service, great team and great results as well as taking us in late on a Friday afternoon and helping us fix our problem. 5-stars!!!!! read more

Left my car here for a power steering issue, and oil change. After two days in the shop they couldn't figure out what was happening although they promised to give me an update by end of day I dropped it off. Never did work on it for two days. Find out the power train needed to be replaced. They said they would fix it by end of third day. I ok'd it and agreed to pay and asked to have my oil changed. Fourth day goes by, no update. It's now Friday morning I go in the shop on my lunch, the mechanic barely started work on the power train issue, I asked will it be done before Friday ends they said yes and to complete the oil change. Saturday morning I walk-in and they forgot to do the oil change. Now I'm frustrated they kept the car that long and weren't honest that the shop maybe had a lot of work or they flat out ignored the problem. I drove the car off the lot to get the oil change at jiffy line because it needed it for travel that just. Blew the engine out. They will play you too. read more

I started my car one morning and I saw the light indicator that one of my tires was low. I had a dentist appt. first in the morning nearby so I had to look into the tire issue after my appt. After my dentist appt was done, I drove several blocks away to the Pitt Stop. It was raining hard and I had hoped there wouldn't be that many customers in line at 9:30 am. I was the 2nd customer. Soon after more customers arrived and the lobby had 5 customers. The front lobby was clean and they had enough chairs for about 6 customers. They had a big screen TV so you can keep up on the news. I explained to the employee at the counter that I probably had a flat or my tire was low. They quickly took my vehicle into the bay and about 15-20 mins later , my tire was repaired. I was told my left rear tire had a puncture and it was sealed. I was extremely happy for their efficiency and fast service Pitt Stop provided. I was back on the road and I was only 30 mins late for my next appt in Torrance. I was expecting to be at least 2 hours late for my next appt. They provide excellent service and the $25. price was reasonable for labor and service. I highly recommend the Pitt Stop to those who want good service and reasonable prices for car service. read more

WARNING! This shop damaged my car and is unwilling to reimburse fully for the damage caused. They did not notify me of the damage when it occurred, rather I noticed it a day after picking up my car. They tried to see if they could get away with it, and now they keep saying a manager whom is never on site is going to call me. In which he never does. They are extremely rude, and unprofessional. I had my car towed her recently. They made several changes without my permission. Then gave me an enourmous bill I had never approved. They told me my car was ready to be picked up. I drove half a block before the check engine light came on and the car misfired again. When I called they seemed apologetic and ready to make it right, so I had it towed back AGAIN, trusting they would make it right. When I called back the next day, they were blaming me for the issue, which obviously was very alarming. They said they did the minimal fix to avoid extra cost to me. I NEVER asked them to cut corners. They had my only car, which I drive my child in. I wanted it fixed and fixed right, with the reasonable expectation that they diagnose a problem and call me about the intention to fix, with an appropriate estimate. They did not do that. Based on the phone call I was actually fearful for my car in their possession so I asked them to stop service and I called a tow AGAIN to have it towed somewhere else. Someone called me following that last call,Eli, who was actually kind and professional. He told me they had the car working again. And I could come test drive it to possible save myself a tow. I went in to do that. None of the issues were actually fixed, flashing engine light, misfiring and rattling still. It was a kind attempt, but car was in no way repaired and I did have to tow it again. I cannot recommend this place. It was a BEYOND HORRIBLE experience. Hermosa Automotive did actually diagnose the problem, kept in touch with me, and did appropriate repairs with my permission. Cars in good shape again. Got a flat tire and took my car to over to this location to find out that I needed to get two tires replaced, not just one. Elai gave me a few options that worked with my budget. In addition to the tires, I needed to get my wheel alignment fixed which I know can take some time as I've waited patiently at other shops in the past. I left my car there expecting to wait a few hours. I received a call back in just over an hour with everything being done. It's quarantine time. I was just returning from the store and saw that PPS was open. It was early in the day and I saw the workers standing around and thought I could get an oil change and an alignment without waiting too long. I didn't want to drive to South Bay to the dealership. Unfortunately, that was a mistake on my part. I should had driven the extra miles to the dealership. Here's what went wrong: 1. Sloppy work. I did end up taking my car into the dealership the next day. As I was told by PPS that I needed front brakes. They quoted me a dollar amount which seemed rather high. The dealership price was $150 less for the same job. While at the dealership, I asked to have the alignment checked that was done by PPS. Guess what! It was completely off. The dealership had to redo the entire job. Additionally, PPS left my park lights on and didn't replace the seat to where is was before. Those aren't big issues. But, it shows lack of detail and basic customer service skills. 2. I will have to dispute the work on my credit card. I haven't heard back of from PPS. The dealership sent PPS the proof of the mis-alignment. 3. I will never return to that Pitt. I am afraid if I don't receive a credit for the sloppy work they performed, it will become a Small Claims issue. 4. The thing that upsets me the most is that you don't know that the work isn't done properly, until it is checked by a second party. So, if I didn't go to the dealership, I would have been driving with an mis-alignment. This would have caused wear on my tires. Also, I am upset about the wasted money and 2 hours of my time there. I now have to pay for a second alignment with the dealership. Do you think this is a good way to do business? In conclusion: I heed you warning about Pacific Pitt Stop. In my experience they sloppy work, are over priced, and unresponsive to the problem which they created. read more
