This family run Muskegon staple is a MUST! Quick and friendly service, delicious variety of food and super affordable! The French Dip was perfect on a cold day and the depth of flavor in the aus jus for dipping was fantastic! They very kindly split the sandwich and doubled the dipping bowls because the sweet gal who took our order picked up that we were sharing, much appreciated. We also got a crisp and loaded salad- I was shocked with how generous the portion size was! The lady at the counter suggested the creamy Italian dressing, and she was spot on. Thank you! Service with speed and a smile- we were in and out with our takeout food super fast. Y'all I ate a sub here in like 2008 when I was on a very strange visit from Australia, and it changed my goddamn life. It was unbelievably cold at the time, and I came in from the snow to a cheesy, saucy, chicken sub to which I have experienced no equal before or after. This place is a staple for my family when we want something quick. I always get the gyro sub and my wife and daughter get small pizzas. Consistency for this place in normally spot-on besides just a few times we have been there. When the food is not great it has to do with the bread on the sub. Not sure if it is sometimes not toasted properly but can be chewy at times. The bigger picture of this place is a nice small pizzeria with some really cool new food additions on a regular. Good place to check out. Ps: they say they deliver but there is NEVER a delivery driver available or working. This doesn't bother us because we are so close but I can assume they lose business by not having someone there. read more

The drop down box has only allowed me to choose American, traditional restaurant which is not very appropriate, as Pizza & Sub Shop, I would classify as Deli and Pizza. This location has been a Muskegon food service staple since the 1970's. Having only had one other submarine sandwich in the area since my arrival a month ago, I was hankering for a quality sub, similar to those I used to enjoy in NYC, where these two culinary disciplines are rarely server in concert under one roof. That is setting the sub bar high, but Pizza & Sub Shop was up to the challenge delivering a delicious club sub. Quality bread, layers of fresh cut cold cuts, thinly sliced lettuce, oil and pepper. The balance of flavors and ingredients were just like they serve them up in the Big apple and there is no questions why this establishment remains busy. I ordered 5 subs last night and when I got there they said they quoted the wrong price over the phone and did not charge for one of the subs, and they did not make me pay for it, but I am glad I didn't as they were not up to the standards I expected. One sub bun was burned, and it was supposed to be a super sub, ham, salami, pepperoni, cheese and dressing, only thing on it was ham and pepperoni and cheese and not very much of either, I dont even think it had dressing on it. I was not impressed. I ordered a pizza sub, which comes with most of the items you would find on a deluxe pizza. The sausage on this sub was so incredibly salty. I couldn't taste anything else on it. Eventually, I scraped all of the sausage off, which made it a bit more tolerable. I also ordered ranch fries, which were pretty good. I think I would go back to try other side dishes, but I probably wouldn't order anything else. read more

As a child I went to Pizza & Sub shop with my parents. Now as an adult with a different owner at Pizza & Sub shop I am still in love with this place. Pure Yummy!! The bread is what I expect a sub on... not anything like subway. Don't get me wrong, I like subway as well.... but LOVE...& CRAVE the sub's here. They always have funky new appetizers that will have your taste buds scream for that original item that can only be found here. Trying to diet at many different times I've given the salads a shot too. Wow! Let's be honest... most salads leave much to be desired. Not here. Generally left me so full I honestly couldn't finish the entire thing...and I am no size 10.. I can put away my fair share of food. The owner is a friendly man that is always asking his customer's opinions on what they would like to see him offer. To be honest.. . he has come up with more new tasty things to try than I have seen at most large sit down restaurants. What made me think to write this review?
