This is no longer a market/deli. Now a restaurant/bar - just happens to have the same first name i.e. Lucy's, but not the same place as it was pre-2022. We ordered a couple sandwiches and flatbreads from here to go yesterday. Seemed to be light on the meat (i.e. not much turkey or chicken respectively) and too heavy on the sauce (mayo, mustard, etc.) so much that the sandwiches were dripping sauce. Looks like they have a nice backyard bar with music, but if you're looking for sandwiches - I'd pass. read more

We waited 25 minutes to sit inside. We were told the wait to sit outside was due to the kitchen being able to process tickets. Ourservice was extremely poor and slow. Stopped in two Saturdays ago for lunch with two of my best friends and our sweet little new addition. We quickly set up a tall table outside on the patio, which was nicely shaded. Our waitress did wipe down the table since it still had some water on it from the night before. She quickly brought us some menus and and we asked about what the frozen drink in the day it was. It was a watermelon rum runner, which was super yummy. The only slight mess up was that my friend ordered the mock tail of the cucumber drink, and was brought an actual alcoholic drink which was less than ideal since she had a newborn with us and was breast-feeding. The manager in server, both quickly apologized and made her fresh drink. Luckily she only took one sip but they were very kind in correcting it. I ordered the Dune sandwich and it was delicious. The focaccia bread was out of this world. I will say that the waitress also said that it was a local I made bread but when we asked where it came from, they didn't really have a great answer. would definitely return again for a lunch. Music club or just a super casual restaurant with live bands? Little bit of both, but probably the latter in the daytime, which is when we ducked in for lunch. Lucy's has both an indoor area and a large outside "backyard" making for something of a split personality (but in a good way). Great call though, we loved the very chill vibe and mod interior, it's a bit dim inside but has good lighting and a bar at the back wall with tables and booths. But the outside back yard is where it's at... with live music and a separate bar. It's a completely different vibe and I love it. As far as service goes, no issues other than the fact that our lass did not have a good grasp of what beers were on tap, or what their profiles were, but other than that super friendly and attentive. Foodies will want to note that while everything we ordered was right on target, it's generally elevated bar food -- so pulled pork sliders were excellent, with succulent sauce, and the cauliflower crust flatbread with goat cheese was fantastic, but just so ya know. Full bar inside and out and a free parking lot out back. Happy hour from 2 to 4, and the location off Grand Haven's main drag of Washington made it an easy call. Did not suck. read more

We stopped in for lunch on Mother's Day. This was our first visit to Lucy's. We expected it to be busy, but we didn't expect lunch to be over 2 hours with non-existent service. We are a family of 5. We were sat right away, which was great. Our server greeted us and took our drink order about 5-8 minutes after being sat. Our drinks arrived promptly, and we were able to place our order in a reasonable amount of time. Then we waited. And waited. And waited some more. Our server never once came by to update us on our food situation, to tell us the kitchen was backed up, or to apologize for how long it was taking. About 40+ minutes after placing our order, our kids were getting antsy. I turned around in my chair to maybe flag down our server to find out how much longer it would be (as I easily could've made sandwiches at home, had I known how long this would take). She made eye contact with me, and turned the other way. Twice. It felt very much like she was just avoiding coming over to the table. Meanwhile, I overheard the hostess telling people walking in that the kitchen was backed up, so it would be a lengthy wait (as a seated customer, that would've been an appreciated update). We finally got our food after what seemed like forever (I think it was actually a little over an hour). The food was fine, but nothing to write home about, and definitely nothing that should've taken over an hour to prepare. When the server brought our check, there was no acknowledgement or apology for the long wait. This was the worst "service" I've received in a long time. We definitely will not be back. read more

Ava was our server--she was knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, & seemed to enjoy her job...unlike some servers we have had elsewhere, recently. We went on 12/27/2025. It was a hidden gem! As you open the door, you step into a paradise of Christmas wonderland!! We waited 15 min or so but it was worth the wait. Soup of the day. Homemade chilli with baguette. And dunes sandwich we shared. True hearted beer and pino noir. There was a live music. Very merry. We celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary. Love coming here for cocktails and music. The back patio feels like hanging out in your friends backyard for a bbq. Servers are always friendly and prompt. We went to Lucy's in Grand Haven because of the photos I saw all over social media of their over the top Christmas decorations. The decor did not disappoint. The Christmas theme is gorgeous. Upside down Christmas trees, blow molds, stockings, lights, etc. So cute! The inside of Lucy's is very small. Our server was super cheerful and friendly. We all really liked our food.. a lot. The chicken pot pie was amazing. The dessert pretzels were a hit with my kids. I will say, the $160 bill before tip was crazzzzy. Three of us got sandwiches, one had soup, and one the pot pie. That is so expensive for a bunch of sandwiches. (Yes, we also had three cocktails and two mocktails as well.) Although we all had a great time, the food was very good, we just can't fathom spending that again on a dinner of sandwiches. This is no fault to Lucy's whatsoever. First of all, shout out to our waiter who was just fantastic. My daughter was wearing her birthday sash and he took the time to wish her happy birthday and chat with her. He had recently turned 21. He let us take our time and set the pace for a leisurely lunch. He was attentive without hovering. I had a strawberry & mixed greens salad that was delicious. I'll be honest, Lucy's was just OK. Nothing about this restaurant blew me away, but after a morning of walking downtown and by the beach, it sufficed. I got The Mailbag for lunch (turkey, bacon, Colby Jack, lettuce, tomato). Was it good? Sure. Was it great? Absolutely not. To be blunt, this sandwich is not worth $14. It's not event worth half that. My partner got The Pesto Chicken sandwich. He wasn't impressed. In fact, the pesto seemed nonexistent. Calling these "grilled" sandwiches is a boldfaced lie. They are lightly toasted at best. A couple other miscellaneous complaints: the Diet Coke was weirdly flat (????) and we had to ask for napkins. The fries were pretty good, though. If you're hungry and desperate, Lucy's will be fine. The staff was nice, the restaurant was clean, the ambiance was pleasant. But $45 and one mediocre meal later, I can confidently say I won't be returning. read more

Cool atmosphere but food is BLAND. This was my second time eating here and both times was disappointed by the food. Would try again just for drinks because I do like the atmosphere. Stopped in today for lunch. It was super busy with lots of families due to the holidays. We waited a while for drinks and food. When the food came my father reminded the waitress that he had also ordered a coffee that he didn't receive and her response was "I only have two hands". She then brought the coffee ten minutes later but forgot the creamer. My dad was nervous to ask for his creamer because of the snarky comment, but reminded her he still needed it the next time she came around. She forgot again so after our meal was over and before we paid he went to the bartender to ask for his coffee creamer and a new warm coffee. I understand they were busy and could give a pass for forgetting it multiple times, but the snarky comment was totally unnecessary and turned me off. It used to be a rather simple place, where you go to the counter and order your sandwich/food and then grab a side salad from a cooler. They also served beer. While it was rather plain back then, the prices I thought were a little steep. Reminded me of a similar sandwich shop nearby, known as Dids...good but pricey. Now that I'm back again, it has completely been redecorated. Table service, a bar to drink at. There's a patio out back, but I never been to that section. It was around the holidays so the place was decorated quite well. Despite it being a few minutes before noon, the place had only a couple of patrons and we easily found a table. Promptly, we were brought our menus. We were provided with water. The menu selection was simple, the sandwiches were in the $14-$15 range. They come with chips unless you want to upgrade to an order of fries. It's a pretty big order too. I only noticed two people working the front of the house, bartender and server. Someone near us ordered a couple of cocktails, and I watched as the bar tender made the drinks, apparently unfamiliar with the mix. The server, I felt, was unattentive to us. After we got our menus, it had to be 12 minutes before she returned to take our order. I also had to flag her down for the check. There were three of us, only one ordered the fries, we all drank water. Total bill was a bit over $50 before tip. In all honesty, I wasn't very impressed, either were my friends. Will I be back? Probably, but not anytime soon. There are many other options in Grand Haven I will try first. read more

Very popular place near the social district in Grand Haven. We were 5 ppl and able to grab a table inside. The patio was packed and appeared this was the spot for large parties. Service was nice but too busy to keep up. The drinks are pricey but good. The food was crap. I ordered three tacos. Didn't finish them. The meat was off, canned chicken, chorizo was meat was creamy. I was hanging out at Odd Sides, and Lucy's was open for take out! I made the 3 minute walk over there after calling in my order, and I was very impressed! There is parking all over in that area, and while I did not dine in, the service was great! The guy who answered the phone was very friendly and helpful, and the staff was great when we came to pick up the food. I will have to go back to use the patio in the summer time because it looked like a wonderful spot to hangout. I think Lucy's is the perfect, small little place to spend some time enjoying company! I like that it's a little bit out of the way of the main road, but close enough to everything else. And the food was very solid! The food at Lucy's in Grand Haven was excellent, and our waitress Johnny provided outstanding service. Unfortunately, all of that was overshadowed by the unacceptable behavior of Aaron, the manager. When we asked a simple and reasonable question, instead of addressing it professionally, he berated my wife, spoke down to us, and tried to turn the situation around to make us feel guilty for even bringing it up. His tone was hostile, his comments were inappropriate, and his handling of the situation showed a complete lack of respect for paying customers. No guest should ever be treated this way -- period. As locals, we want to support Lucy's and other community establishments, but as long as this type of behavior from management is tolerated, we cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. The owner needs to address this immediately if they care about their customers' experience and reputation read more

Bar was empty with Three servers that walked past without so much as a hello, the hostess finally recognized and brought us water. Finally the bartender walked over and took our order (just two of us) so after water we had one drink and a coke. Just one though cause food came and that was it. We decided to try this place after doing the ship tours at coast guard fest. We got the summer breeze, pesto chicken bowl, and the popcorn chicken for the kids. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food here. I typically don't like black beans but the pesto chicken bowl was the star of the show. It was so delicious! Lastly, a true testament to a good restaurant in my opinion is how clean and well kept the bathrooms are because in turn it shows how they keep the kitchen and considering customers aren't usually allowed in the kitchen, I always judge good restaurants by their bathrooms and it was really nice and clean here.
